    Hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases, benign and malignant, are a complex spectrum of maladies, which require a comprehensive and a collaborative approach by a dedicated team of physicians and allied health care professionals. The diagnoses are frequently challenging and plans for care require a multidisciplinary approach, as the treatment choices may be difficult.
    This year’s symposium will be dedicated to the management chronic pancreatitis and diabetes mellitus. Both have in common a progressive, chronic and eventually disabling disease pattern. According to the National Pancreas Foundation nearly 220,000 people, each year in the U.S, will be afflicted with acute pancreatitis, and more than 80,000 people will be diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis.
    The 2nd Downstate Annual HPB symposium will assemble a panel of experts who will present the most up-to-date information on this very challenging, and prevalent disease. In addition, participants will learn about the current state of islet auto- and allo-transplantation.
    Each series of presentations will be followed by a panel discussion, moderated by one of our expert faculty members.

    • Surgical and Medical principles on treatment of patients with chronic pancreatitis.
    • Role of EUS and ERCP in treatment of pancreatic diseases.
    • Role and strategies of a radiological assessment of the pancreas in patients with chronic pancreatitis.
    • Surgical treatment options for chronic pancreatitis.
    • Management of diabetes mellitus in patients with chronic pancreatitis or those after total pancreatectomy.

    I have chronic pancreatitis with excruciating pain my age is 44 and I have from the age of 8 so from last 36 years I am fighting with this consisting diarrhea I should say steatorrhea weight loss malabsorption, unavailability of in my part as I am working in Saudi Arabia adding insult to the injury, severely depressed, paranoid about future but fighting could you please advise me if I could get this treatment?
