I do have nieces and nephews to worry about, though, and have strongly considered offering to homeschool the younger ones for my sister if she had the means to acquire the curriculum for them. I don't like what public school is doing to them. The filth is everywhere now.
So true, when you start off tackling those big rocks and doing things to fill your spirit, mind, and body your day continues on such a positive path. Oh my gosh those little lap desks are darling! Can I ask when you start morning basket time? Is it something you pull out or that your kids initiate? I love the scripture memory cards you showed, they are cute but nice and short. A really great little find. And oh my gosh your rolled into another fantastic find with the character trait cards! Love Love love!!
The character cards might be my favorite!!! I think I forgot to link them so I’ll add that now. I initiate our morning time! (My kids would just play all morning if I let them. 😂) We usually start right after breakfast and chores, so around 9am!

It’s really just a place (or a tool) to keep things that you want to include in your morning routine. It provides nice structure for your morning! It’s somewhat comparable to circle time in traditional schools. Some families include games, copywork, recitations, music time, writing, it just depends! We do all of our core subjects after our morning routine. The basket isn’t necessary, but it’s a great place to keep all of the books or items and the term “morning basket” has just become popular among homeschoolers!
