I followed your directions and it worked!! My dishwasher had been leaking a little for months, then it leaked more and I decided to try and fix it. I found your video and ordered the part. Then I did what you said and now my dishwasher works perfectly!!! It is over 20 years old and I plan to use it for the rest of my life!!! Thank you so much! misty lavender
I had that plastic thing fall off my dishwasher over a month ago. For the life of me, I could not figure out where it fell out of nor how to get it back on until I watched this video. That Frigidaire dishwasher I bought used for $60 from a kid who said his grandma used it for a few months. Didn't like the color if was so replaced it. And I dig the dishwasher for certain. But I tried four or more times to figure out how that thing goes back on and where it fell from. Ten minutes after seeing this video, I put mine back on. Just like that. Thanks to this video and those responsible for creating it. Had a water leak, not a real big one, and it now all makes sense. Thank you.
I had this same dishwasher and bought new gaskets and I followed this instruction for the lower gasket and it worked perfectly. This is a great tutorial, better than many others on you tube
I'm not impressed with this design feature on my Frigidaire Gallery. Many of the comments were helpful though and with perseverance, I finally put the gasket into a 'secret' recessed groove. In the video, the technician used a screwdriver to clean the 'gunk' out of the groove. I used a butter knife which informed me of the track that the gasket fits into. Previously, I had the gasket slipping into the space of the door's inner workings and it was loose and fell out when I would close the door again. Now it is in place and looks right. I will have to run the dishwasher to make certain there are no leaks before moving on to replacing the tub gasket and splash guards.
My door was loose and it caused my seal to fall out. Once I tightened the door my seal went back on perfect as you have shown. Before I noticed my door hinge bolts loose the seal wouldn’t stay. Great Video! Thank you!
I got fed up and started disassembling the door on the dishwasher hoping to find where that thing fell from once the door was partially disassembled. Had the door outer skin removed. Still couldn't make heads or tails of it. Mine just fell out one day. I know about where, but never did match the cut and the notch to anything to help me see where. Until this video. The door was about to come apart completely when I thought I would try more than just seeing a drawing. There's nothing I can't fix. And still is nothing I can't fix. But never would I have been able to guess where this seal fell from on the machine without this video. As a matter of fact, I just got done running a partial load through it just to make certain all is well. You know, the house I own came with a dishwasher thirty years ago. Dishwasher and trash compactor. Compactor I use daily, too, and I keep it running like new. The dishwasher, well, I bought a new pump and motor for it fifteen years ago. Thought I was lucky to find those new. Should have replaced the dinosaur with this Frigidaire long before then. The sanitize feature hits right where it counts to an old bachelor like myself. Before then, who know what bacteria I would eat? Kitchen was actually built around the big old Roper gas stove and oven. Refrigerator replaced twice, once with new. Two microwaves,. You did hear me say I'm a lifelong bachelor? What would a guy do without at least one microwave oven? Probably starve or be a drunk? lol
This comment saved me a ton of frustration, tried to get the gasket in for 15 minutes with no luck, rubbed some dish soap on my fingers then along the edge that goes in first got it the first time.
Hi, I just received my OEM gasket from PartSelect and on the new gasket the inner lip points upward rather than downward, just like the one that was leaking in the first place. Confused!!! I feel like I'd done the install correctly but it's still leaking :( Thanks in advance for any advice, and could it be possible that the tub gasket is (also) the problem and not the Bottom Gasket?
Hi, any chance you could briefly explain the symptoms we would see? The repair demonstrations are great, but I wouldn't know really how to troubleshoot... tks
You're welcome for the help. A common symptom of a faulty bottom gasket is water leaking from the bottom of the dishwasher's door. Check the gasket for signs that it might be worn out, torn etc. Hope that helps!
Be mindful, or you'll slide your gasket all the way inside the door like I did. Also, be mindful, or you'll take the door panel off to get to the gasket only to discover the gasket was damaged by opening and closing the door to remove the cover. Boy!

I am so grateful for you teaching me how to do this. It saved me a lot of money that I could not afford to turn loose.

Great video! Would've loved a camera focus on the old gasket side by side with the new one, along with a shot of how it looks properly installed.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!

Dish soap on the edge to help it slide in 👌 that's what did it for me

What to do if the door is tight and the seal keep falling into the door or out of the groove when I close the door? Thanks

Mine just falls into the inside of the door itself..
