This sounds way better than the MV7 and without the plosives. Plus USB-C!
Enjoyed your review 👍 Just ordered
Appreciate it Eric!
I’m with you, I like both sounds and the rejection is great for someone with an untreated room.
After this many years of the existence of mics it’s hard to make something that doesn’t strongly resemble an existing mic. It’s obvious they didn’t copy the internals.
Have a great day and be safe out there!
Yeah. It was absolutely inspired... But what shape do we want a mic to have?
@@ObscureMics A lot of departure gets you a blue snowball.
I like the mount. Also that fact that you can use XLR and USB at the same time.
I do as well. I like it.... quite a bit
Listened for the first time at the gym this afternoon - with those earbuds the XLR was superior. I'll comment again after listening & watching on TV. thanks & peace
Yeah the xlr is less muffled. I'd say if I were to back up a little in usb mode... May be perfect
Dude this mic is sweet
Awesome review
Thankya sir!
Its a keeper
Hey Bark
I bought this mic and been using it in XLR for a while now. No complaints about my voice overs. Thought I'd be using it as my travel mic but it's in my booth now 😁 Not used the USB but I love how my voice Sounds on XLR. Glad I found you. Love your reviews
That's awesome! It's a heck of a mic. I think I found the exact capsule in it.... Ordered a few to see if u can replicate the xlr sound in other mics
And... Thank you
hi.may i know model of capsule are Fduce using?
😊I bought 🎤 yesterday for €40😉, free shipping🙀 within 5 days. I'm looking forward😎thanks for the nice video❤️
Thanks for watching!
So I have the re27nd, Samson Q9u and the fduece… I have to say.. it’s a great mic, great sound and build quality! it’s my mobile mic I use when I travel to do podcasts with 3 of my co hosts..Actually a co host bought one at the same time!! This mic is underrated in my opinion‼️
I'd take it over a LOT of more expensive mics
Sounds good. I don't mind the dark part. For me the USB would just be a bonus. Not bad for the price
Would love a followup review after 6 months of use! See how the internals hold up. Looks like an interesting piece of MV7 competing gear. How is the shock absorption? Is it prone to touch sounds on the yoke and arm of the mic? Or on the table
I have some requests to do more with it. So I believe I'll do another video
sounds promising!
It's rock solid for the price.
I bought this at 8am this morning with a boom stand. Good to know it's great quality
Very good in my opinion
How do you like it so far?
@@jcap8391 a month after using the microphone. I have not yet run into any problems with it. Sound quality is still great on it and all usb buttons still work perfectly. I actually bought a second one for my brother. because on how well it's worked out. (The quality of the mic is way better than everything else as well in this price range)
Good to hear! I've used it a handful of times....been a great travel mic
I have seen multiple videos on this microphone cuz I am getting one soon. Between the USB-C and the XLR. There isn’t much difference in sound. It just matters how you talk into it. There isn’t really much of a difference.
Dropping an FDuce on the competition at that price
💩
Sounds pretty good. I don't hear a ton of difference between the USB and XLR on my speakers, but it seems to have some kind of processing on it. It's definitely accentuating the bottom (TWSS), and just maybe a touch of compression? I don't think either sounds bad. The XLR has a little better clarity with the top end but if you're into that big-bottom broadcast sound, the USB version will probably appeal to a lot of people. For $69 I think it's solid. IMO it beats the crap out of the Q9U.
Agree. And I will say.... The headphones told such a different story from usb to xlr... And yeah... The Q9U is dead after this thing
I wasn't ready for this mic. Really impressive for the price. I'm looking for a dynamic mic that doesn't look like a SM58 for streaming and podcast but it's hard because most mics doesn't sell in Brazil. 😔
Wish everything was universally available. It's 2022 afterall
To be honest, just buy the sm57 with the aw7s filter. I have seen some professional vodcasts that use it interchangeable with the sm7b and the sound quality is literally indistinguishable. But 4 times as cheap.
@@urbnctrl that's a very good tip. Thanks a lot.
I like it. For the money.
I think I like it.... Period
Wow- a very nice, super affordable yoke mount mic. Thank God I didn't love the XLR sound, because I was just about to go from broke to not having lunch 😌
Lol. I like the xlr sound myself
@@ObscureMics Had to go back because obviously I trust your ears, and of course you're right, damn it- I wasn't listening right. Now I'm struggling SO hard because coupon. But seriously, do I _need_ another microph- DON'T ANSWER THAT!!! 😣
The answer is always yes. Just sell your least used mic and play with new ones lol
I dig it. This is the first mic I wish I'd had. Do we finally have a Q2u killer?
I think we do
Suggestion: Record both USB and XLR mods and then do a 50/50% mix.
Ooooooooooo I like. I'll do it on a short.... That's a great idea
If this mic is good I will probably pick this up over the shure mv7 even though the shure has amazing features with it
I honestly.... Like this more considering the price... Heck maybe more no matter what the price is
I own both, and Shure is just better - way lower noise level and great software... is it enough to justify price difference? not sure...
Hello!
Very nice review!
At what procentage is the gain good on Windows PC?
I have a AKG D5 in a Behringer UMC202HD right now.
Would you say this is better?
Should I switch to this in USB mode?
D5 is better IMO
¡Gracias!
I just picked up the Donner PO-8. Do you think this is a better value? I don't know if it's just me, but I think this one sounds a little clearer, could just be my (mediocre) headphones though. I'm just hoping I made the right choice.
I personally prefer the Donner myself.... But if you like the sound of the SL40 more... The features are pretty great for the price
You should review the $20 usb microphone from fduce. made of full metal at that price
I'll check it out!
Thoughts on this vs Fifine K658 if I don't need XLR?
I personally.... Surprisingly... Think this is better IF you like a darker sound. The build is better and the features are better IMO
Hello. Could you do a short MV7 vs SL40 comparison please?
I do not own an mv7 sadly. Not sure if I wanna pay the price
@@ObscureMics Thanks
How would you compare this with the fifine am8? Do you subjectively think it’s worth the extra 20ish bucks? I’d be using both via usb
I personally would rather use the am8 in usb mode. The FDUCE is REALLY dark in usb
Impressive mic indeed
K658 with this one?
Fduce over k658 for me
Awesome video bro, may I ask you if there is a software included for this model, do you think this is better than the Shure mv7, thank you again...
No software. Better than the mv7.... When considering prices yes. Not considering prices... Surprisingly debatable
@@ObscureMics thanks for answering
Welcome. I will answer everything until I literally can't. Thanks again for watching
Question, how many feet is the xlr cord?
I believe it is 6 feet
Hello. Thanks. Can I get similar sound with SM7B? A comparison video would be great.
Sure can. I'll do a short
@@ObscureMics Thanks
Last I looked the Exchange rate was 6.5:1 so $69.99 is equal to $454.93 in Chinese Dollars, of Course the American Lobbyists and their crony counterparts rip their cut from the profits. Slave labor in China? No need to be, plenty of headroom for profit. I've just ordered the SL40... very impressed with the online video reviews. Best I make of the design is a 5-volt pre-amp board with possible fixed EQ aiding a dynamic element. (the bottom end 50-100 Hz fullness is unlikely from the dynamic element alone) Doubt they give you a schematic, thus far I'm unable to find a schematic diagram online.
Pretty sure you nailed ALL of that
Looks like a good deal! I wonder if the RK347 sm7b windscreen will fit on it?
There's nothing to keep it in place.. M. But if you wanted to glue it.... It looks the part
@@ObscureMicsdoes the Mute button make a noise when pressed during recording?
I sadly overlooked that test, but will report back tomorrow when I'm home
@@ObscureMics thanks bark! 🙌🏾
Thank YOU
What Software or Interface do you Use to Record your Content Videos?
As of right now, I use the focusrite vocaster two
Fduce slrx or maono pd100 please just chose one 🙏
Pd100
I thought this was the shure mv7 until i saw the bottom of the microphone 😂
Reeeeally close to it lol
hey, I have a question because I'm thinking about choosing a dynamic microphone for about $ 100/120 for usb, are you able to recommend me something?
The Maono pd400x is the best usb dynamic for 100-120 in my opinion right now.. The build in phenomenal... You can use dso or just roll with the switches on the mic... It's got it all
amzn.to/3F9b1cO
@@ObscureMics okey thx for answer
Can we use this microphone for to sing a little bit?
Cause sound card with softwares it's hard for me to use I don't understand anything...
I believe you can
@@ObscureMics thanks! I think it will be better than the little headset 😅😅
Absolutely!
FDUCE - SL40 or Maono PD100?
Pd100 for me
Is this raw vocals or processed ?
Raw
Looks like a low poly MP-7. Pretty strong offering for $70.
How hard would it be to scrape the "FDUCE" paint off the side? The pretend Shure logo can stay, but FDUCE is not an attractive word.
Lol I'd say it would be best to slap electrical tape over it
excellent location to put a label with your own branding
100%
Hmmmm a couple of inches of flat black gaffers tape could fix that quite nicely😉
@@NeKrokodilu lol my brand would be FBJ😉🤣👍
the donner po-8, or the sl40?
Really comes down to weather you will use the USB functionality of the sl40. If the answer is yes....the fduce wins
There are a couple different versions of this with no logo on the side
Yep.. VeGue and Donner have it... Kinda crazy
Does it work on the iPhone with adapter?
You'd need a 3 way lightning cord that cane also be plugged into another usb source for power
@@ObscureMics What if I try connecting it Directly using a USB C to lighting Cables?
While the cord came in its own packaging, I was hoping the mic would have its own little pouch.
Y'know.
A FDUCEbag.
Hahahahahauauaua yesssssss. And it did have a polyurethane bag but of course.... I forgot to put it back on.... Forgot to re cover the mic with the FDUCEbag
@@ObscureMics You're doing the Lord's work, Brother Bark.
Also, I just ordered a Teyun Q-12 today because the price dropped to below 20 USD. I'm both stoked and kinda expecting the worst. Hahaha!
I really do wonder if the q-12 varies from copy to copy. Hopefully you will be blessed with a unit as wonderful as mine Brother Carlos. (that's what she said)
@@itscarlosreally where'd you get it from? The link Bark provided with his video pulls it up at 29.99
@@NeKrokodilu I'm based in Manila, my dude. The online shops sell 'em way cheaper here.
Recomendarías este FDUCE en vez del ZOOM ZDM1 Lo quiero solo para grabar voz en un formato podcast. Particularmente me gusta el zoom pero me hace considerar las opciones de conexión del Fduce. Me agradaría mucho tu opinión. Felicidades por el canal.
?
@@ObscureMics Would you recommend buying this FDUCE instead of the ZOOM ZDM1 keep in mind that I only want it to record voice in a podcast format. If you had to choose between one of them, which of them would you choose for a podcast?
I particularly like the zoom but it makes me consider the extra connection options of the Fduce. I would really appreciate your opinion. Congratulations on the channel.
Thanks Paul!
For me it's the FDUCE. I LOVE THE SOUND IN XLR...and it's nice to have USB as a backup. Thank you for translating
Is it good for rock vocals thou??
Ehhh I gotta say no. It'll work....I wouldn't call it a studio mic by any means
@@ObscureMics another question would u say this mic and at2020 are the same sound. Because in Canada at2020 is 170$ but this mic is 214$?
No this sounds better IMO
As always UK viewers do not buy on the Amazon link it goes to some random USB condenser mic.
Currently working on this
Try now
Bought two of these for our podcast and soon after we bought two Rode Podmics thinking they would boost our audio quality even more. After some audio issues recording today’s episode, we decided to test them against our original Fduce mics. Long story short, there was no noticeable improvement with the Rode mics and some of us preferred the Fduce recordings. The Rode mic’s are being returned - they were $139 each (Cdn) compared to $55 each for Fduce.
Name brand definitely does not equal better sound. I personally do not like the podmics at all. Build quality is great but the sound is thin and weak
Did I *need* this mic? I did not.
Did I order it anyway. I plead the fifth.
Lol we never really NEED a mic like this if we own mics we like..... But..... Yeah... I'm keeping mine
Better or worse than the PO-8
I prefer the po-8 but it's really close
Fduce sl40 need cloud filter in xlr mode?
In my opinion....only if you have an older interface
no $30 off for me
Oh nooooooo
MV7 copy
Yep... Stated in the video
Thats what i dont like about These mics .. You have to be so damn close to it 😐
To be fair... You can add gain and back away. The room noise it picks up will still be no worse than a condenser at the same distance
