Cool factoid: the guitarist and also backing vocalist, Jim Ward, now in Sparta, said that this song was conceived by accident, by the band trying to rehearse "Unsung" by the band Helmet. They then started writing a song and original music content, based on a poem that Cedric had written about after watching the 80s movie Alien. I can definitely hear Unsung in this song, at some portions. Especially the drumming and bass stop-and-go.

Is it weird that the next video recommended for me is Helmet's Unsung? Serendipity is awesome sometimes.
Ah, okay. All this time I thought this song was about a pair of scissors born with a birth defect.
Serendipity or algorithms.
Helmet has inspired more successful bands than people actually know. They are one of the greatest of their time, and still amazing live today.
