I ended up using special form for this, would that have gave me the right answer?Took out a third to make it 3x^2 on top
Yes, that's equivalent - the way you would prove your "special form" is simply by making a substitution as shown in the video.
The first one is wrong according to sqa marking scheme it should be 6/square root (1-(3x^2))
thats exactly what he wrote, except he simplified the (3x)^2. if you square the bracket you get 9x^2
