Pretty much cold turkey for me. I came up with reasons to quit. Then used them to convince myself I no longer wanted it. Ate ALOT of those red and white peppermint candies. That helped wean from the hand-to-mouth habit. That was 9 years ago this past August.
That is my most difficult sin to overcome as well. I was 9 I think when my cousin had me smoke the first time. I still remember it and how I hated it and felt guilt after. 😔 Now I'm 40 and have given up much but that's one son many Christians battle. May the Lord deliver us from that chain!!
