If nothings seems to work, just change the notification type from stack to list and restart your phone. It worked for me. The stack option has some bug in it. Mine worked after doing this.

Seems that background app refresh off and back on again, reset after did the trick for me.

This is how I solved my problem on some contacts not showing notifications or disappeared. First thank you for your nice video. All nice recommendations but did not work for me. I discovered that some of my contacts and a conference were archived. I don:t know how it happened. I unarchived them and now is ok

Stupid me. I accidentally archived my chats. So I rec'd the chats but no notifications. Unarchived and notifications began working for me.

If you use focus on your iPhone. Just go into the settings, and allow notifications from the app. Fixed mine!

Fixed now. In my case i tried all methods, after making a backup copy, deleted reinstalled force restarted my phone, aiplane mode, anyway, everything and last night still nothing; i opened a support case, reported reception issues and also reported it on downdetector. Was fixed 24h later one they pushed application update. Working now, 6:00 am Madrid time. Hope this helped

Goto settings - notifications- whatsapp- turnon whatsapp notifications.

Simply reset the phone first that may resolve the issue.
4:31 Its on by default and its foggy which means can't move it even if I wanted to. Nothing works
My problem: it says I have 7 messages unread from 4 different conversations. I reply to one of the messages, but now it doesn't show me that I've still got 6 messages unread, it shows nothing as if I have read them all unless I actually open the app
