  • Monkey World, Dorset, June 2017. Head of Orangutan keeper, Jarno Swandi gave talk about the great ape Orangutan.
Mr Swandi is the Head of Orangutan keeper at The Monkey World, Dorset. He had been researching and tracking orangutans in their natural habitat in Borneo for years before working for this wonderful ape rescue centre in Dorset, England, UK.
Orangutan in Indonesian means "human of the forest" (orang=human, utan=forest). They are endangered, mainly because of deforestation for palm oil plantation. To help save this wonderful distant cousins of ours, please be aware of any products and brands that still use unsustainable palm oil.
