I’m 13 but rlly want to became a NICU nurse. I have been watching all your videos, they are rlly helpful for me to see a little bit of how and what to expect.
Very interesting educational video. Thank you Nurse Tiff. I have a question for you. where I used to work, when a baby uses CPAP, an OG tube will be installed to reduce abdominal distension. how could this happen? Will air from the lungs penetrate into the stomach then how can the tube reduce the pressure? please help explain to me. Thank you very much
This series is great! I will be starting my NICU capstone this week, and unfortunately due to COVID haven’t had any labs. Could you do a video on like top list of skills, drugs, and diagnosis’s to know in the NICU? 💕
I love your videos! Should we be concerned with pressure ulcers/injuries on the face and/or mouth since the OG is so close to the skin? I understand there is a layer of Duoderm that separates the OG tube from being in direct contact with the skin, however have you seen the tubing be the cause of skin breakdown for pts with long term OG or intubation placements? Thanks in advance!
I used to be a NICU nurse and went to med surg to travel in. Im now back in NICU at a hospital at a level 2. Been watching to refresh up. One question. Does it matter if the OG is taped in the middle vs having the tube taped at the corner of the mouth?
No. We typically tape in the center though. But for some kids that are starting to work on bottle feeding sometimes we can tape to the side so it makes it easier to suck on the bottle
Hope you guys are enjoying this series so far! Please give this video a thumbs up if you are liking them so I can make more 😊👍🏻
I'm learning a lot, thank you!
Yay I’m glad 😊

Great! Glad they’re helpful 🥰
Thanks for this Tiffany. From your experience which sticks better in the douderm , is it tegaderm or brown tape (leukoplast)?
This is so nice to see. We have limited labs for OB and PEDS because of covid and have online clinical 😔

Hi Tiff. May i know the baby's position during the whole procedure? Is it lie down or slightly head up?
Love your videos. Can you go over nicu blood gases. Thanks!
Hi Tiffany, which Nicu level do you work in?
