The fact that the Roblox game Phighting! Follows all of the aspects excluding the singleplayer yet having around 580 ccp YET having an extremely large community tells me a lot

I feel like there are different criteria for a good multi-player game where you dont just play once... and every roblox game STILL completely botches that as well.

that's the rough part about roblox, the platform has potential to have lots of artistic and interesting games but none of them get promoted and people end up not having a proper way to discover them except for word of mouth something that would solve this problem is if they had an specific tab to find these types of games, there could even be a "singeplayer" tab, and it wouldn't really affect the popular multiplayer games
As a roblox Developer, you don't actually need to push microtransactions onto your games to make money. If you have a game with a lot of players, roblox will start giving you what is called a "Premium Payout" which means you get robux for every premium player that joins your game and for how long they spend playing your game. Essentially, Roblox pays you for being popular automatically. This is why I can afford to never make microtransactions.
The closest thing we have to story games, are, well... the entirety of the "Story" genre, and Piggy. I wouldn't say they're mind blowing stories, but it's a step towards a story driven game that can still make a huge impact in roblox's history, maybe one day a skilled developer looks back at what made these games popular then improves them with a better story, who knows?
However, such a game would need constant story updates or other game modes for replayability, depending on the genre It's possible to make a good story game with great replayability.
Here are 2 nice games i dont see talked about much on roblox, which dont have many meaningful microtransactions: Quick Click: it has many visits (around 2M), but it averages 5 concurrent players. Why? Because it's a very short, singleplayer game. However, it is also fairly replayable as there are 2 endings, one of them being quite hard to achieve, and a challenge, which is VERY hard. Dummies vs Noobs: a multiplayer wave-based shooter which averages 500 concurrent players, even though its a very replayable multiplayer game. It also has a LOT of lore.
HELLMET is pretty good, i also recommend block tales, which is one of, or if not THE best turn based roblox game i have ever seen. items, cards, special abilities, timings, etc.
I’ve never thought of it for some reason, Roblox doesn’t have reviews.. That’d be a really cool addition. I think it’d make the community feel more cohesive.
only cus nintendo hates when people have fun and dropped support for it, also buying a membership to play the online aspects of a mostly online game is pure BS
To me if the game makes me want to come back every day it's a good game. Like take ultrakill, you can beat the main story, but i keep coming back trying to p rank the levels Same applies to games like combat initiation and other games that have that sweet sweet *replayability*
As an old Roblox fan who's slowly getting tired of Roblox’s dry games. I like the idea but I have to be honest single-player player games cannot be compared with multiple-player games. However, you're in the right direction. I would like to share some other things too. 1. They're a lot of copycat games. 2. Some developers that own a game or more just slap a game in and don't develop it any further afterward. 3. Roblox does a bad job managing to merge all age groups, especially with vc.
There's an upcoming game called 'Doomblade' which is story-driven and single player. It's a Devil May Cry-esque hack & slash that's coming out in what I assume to be a few months or a year or two. The discord server for it is pretty active, too. I've been so excited for it ever since I found out it was in the making, and Roblox even responded to a sneak-peek of it on twitter themself.
What I play on roblox: SCI Pathos III (Serious RP game that is based on SCP), Balanced Craftwars: Overhaul (rng game but you actually fight bosses and craft items), Dummies Vs Noobs (Chaos), Combat Initiation (I love ultrakill), and Entry Point (Its a refrence from a game that I forgot the name). Ok thats all lol
There are times when you do find a genuinely good game on Roblox but at least for me after a month of playing it I feel like I just wear myself out and stop playing it until there are no good games left for me to play (the point of where I’m at) I now find my self booting up Roblox looking at a few games and then thinking “nah not today” and then close Roblox. There are a few times when I find a game that looks interesting but then I only play it for 30 minutes max before I go do something else
Oh yea visits shouldn’t equal to downloads/copies sold because it counts every time you join the game and not just the first time so its inaccurate to how many unique people actually played the game.
block tales is a good example of this really good game (despite technically being multiplayer) with pretty unique enemies and characters and stuff but it has like only 3,000 people playing it
I feel like there are more single player games out there on Roblox, but it's just not shown due to the algorithm keeping all the "successful" games on discover instead of new games which kinda defeats the whole discovering point when all it is is the same game on the same place on the discover page.
Good games on Roblox are literally not shown up as Roblox keeps recommending the same trash over all the years. The only games I play are either event games, f3x planet edition or default serversided executor hub
the good games are almost ALWAYS so underrated that they have less than 50 ppl online at any good time. they are there but they never get popular cause atention farms are so effective.
one thing i really like about certain roblox games is that they have story, but im more interested in the turn based rpg's with story. One game that i really love on roblox was adventure story. There are other games but I forget what they are called. These games are multiplayer and stuff, but i really enjoyed these types of games, they just aren't around anymore though.
some of the few decent roblox games i've managed to access is pilgrammed and deepwoken while deepwoken is quite promoted (since it can spike to 15k concurrent players), it's a paid game. pilgrammed is "considered by roblox" dead, not getting anymore 4 digits players. both of the games offer a decently fun and complex experience for my taste, and actually elevate a bit of skills and fun gameplay mechanics now compare it to the most popular games... brookhaven, pet simulator, blox fruits... yeah kids don't like being lowered to a skills and complexity level, this is another flaw that roblox has, the playerbase just wants the easy to pick up game that guide them through everything and can give them gigantic advantages if you spend money on it, and because those games also make A TON of money, they're more likely to be promoted compared to other games. this incentivates crap like sol's rng, where you don't need to make a good game, you need to make a game easy to pick that can generate on the user's hand dopamine and potentially profit from it.
When u said single player games on Roblox don’t work I instantly thought of hours, which has had no updates in two years I believe and still has an active-ish community. Pretty good for a single player Roblox game
HOURS replayability is pretty bad and half the abilities are gamepass locked. as soon as you get every ability and character and have played with them, you kinda get bored Sure the abilities are cool and everything but replayability is terrible and the gameplay itself is repetetive plsu it isnt even getting updated anymore This is all based off experience
games don’t need to be popular to be *GOOD* it doesn’t need to be single-player to be *GOOD* all you need is a little appreciation of the up and coming games. if you want a new experience of a nostalgic game, there’s probably something that suits that on Roblox. (cough cough Regretevator cough cough)
Oh yeah toilet tower defense is such a good game💀💀💀💀 Nah you want to know what fit with criteria of a good game "Dummy Vs Noobs" fun Co-op defense shooter game where you see if you can defense you and you're team against the waves of noobs against you
amazing animations and editting dude. Also I have noticed another thing about roblox, 99% of the games are targetted for small kids so as the gamer base that communicateswith each other is like teen or young adults, they are definitely no gonna like it. And for the fourth category - fun, again, 99% of roblox games suck because they are targetted for small kids, just like how nursery rhymes are not enjoyed by grown ppl
`There is Doodle World, if you want a game that fits almost all criteria. Although not single player, the game itself has single player story. The game it self is fun, with tons of replayability. Of course the "Doodle" are all unique and cool characters as well!
there are so many good games but they don't get pushed to the discover page thats the big problem I don't wanna like play skibidi tower defense simulator
As a dev, to me no matter how good of a game you make it takes a long long time. Plus the roblox recommending system is just so bad it just cant show new games sometimes so its way harder for players for find newer games unless someone else suggests it.
Another thing that defines a "Good game" for me atleast, is a game that is not just a lazily put together, clicker, cashgrab game that is completely pay to win.
6:08 this is not correct! as a developer you can get money from premium payouts, which don't require in-game monetization. in short, premium players play your game and you get Robux depending on how long they've spent in your game.
You should play Decaying Winter, it's one of the only games i know that have all the traits you said in the video, and the only one i waste my time on roblox. OBS: It's a hard game but it's fun at the start, and if anyone is going to start playing the game now, play at a private server, it's free.
A "dead" but a really good game would be Neon Knights, it lacks a bit of story but the gameplay is fun, the characters are unique and has somewhat of an unique concept being a roguelike of sorts where you go into a round, get weapons, die, keep all weapons of the zones you had completed and go again with those weapons.
Calling adopt me and sols RNG is successful 💀 İ mean yea they successful as money making part But that doesnt mean thats good game ( sol rng literally gambling game and long running gag atm)

to be kinda honest i almost completely was not listening to what you were saying because i was so amazed that you can fight terry in the beginning of that one game thats at the end of the video please remind me its a really good game
TDTNTOR 1, 2 and 3 are really good if you play all of them in numerical order + there are bonus chapters that also expand the story and some even explain why this or that happens in the story and some can also "change" the story, but it isn't really canon to it.
Doors is Close. EDIT: I think Block Tales is the Closest thing we can get to a "Good" Game. You can play the entire Campaign Solo or with a Group and there is a Story (The Seven to Nine Swords of SFOTH Have been taken)
i remember back in the early 2010s, namely 2013 and 2014, there were usually one or two singleplayer games on the front page they usually met a good chunk of the criteria of what makes 'good games' as presented in the video, but as expected, it was all usually overshadowed by the multiplayer games back then call this a view from rose-tinted glasses, but those multiplayer games back then were pretty fun, and *usually* didn't rely on microtransactions and live service stuff like nowadays and recent years
Alr lemme dump 1 game with these traits Decaying winter Unique Character = There is huge cosmetics menu which you can create own character + locked behind by Pledging (Rebirth by saying other games guh) A story behind = There is literally document with lore which i'm not reading allat (ITS WAY TOO HUGE) Concept = Literally another game launcher build into a game which makes it very own mechanic of the roblox platform Fun = After playing a long time its becomes fun until you learn basics + if you have friends its becomes way funnier I also can say "The battle bricks" Has many own huge pluses because its singleplayer and battle cats combined with roblox
Tbh the only example i could find of a good roblox game becoming popular is Guts & Blackpowder, a game about zombies arising during the napoleonic wars
Personally I believe that Roblox should consider an algorithm that works like the one of Netflix. Or at least a smilar one. Where when you play a certain type of game it recommends games of the same genre.
Star glitcher (zr/rvt) it has unique characters like velnorum or veldus depending on who made the game it's a unique concept where you transform between many modes and stylishly take down enemies revitalised specifically will be having a story mode soon there has always been lore it is very fun
If I correctly understood the video, the good game means single player story driven games with unique concept and characters. Otherwise, it's not a good game. 5k IQ video
To be honest, I'm a player of a small train game on Roblox called Somewhere, Wales. It's a good game, too! Instead of being some boring obby or something, it's much more realistic and world-like, has lots and lots of lore on their wiki, and has unique mechanics that a lot of bland train games don't have (Mind you it also isn't anything LIKE an obby, it's a train simulator pretty much). Although some may consider it "dead" because of there only being 20-30 players, that's actually a good amount anyways, because 1, who cares about simply the amount of players playing the game (besides Roblox) , and 2, that's actually a decent amount for really Roblox train games. It's super unique, it's atmosphere is kinda cool, and there's a lot to do in the game if you think outside of the box.
i think the main problem is that roblox is too restrictive with content censorship and their monetisation. they rip people off, so the majority of serious developers will just go find another engine. also, splatoon is one of my favourite games of all time and it doesn't meet the "good story" criteria mentioned in the video + it mostly is bad as a singleplayer game, but i still like it because the core is Actually Fun. but most roblox games, to make them fun, will be coding so much different and swapping out so much of the base roblox "art style" that again, they could just use another engine and it'd be just as hard BUT with more creative freedom.
heres the wild thing, i remeber a tie back in i think 2011-2012, where there COULD be good story games, main one that comes to mind for me, is super paper robloxia, if anyone remebers that, thats a good story game, but now its dead and gone

that's the rough part about roblox, the platform has potential to have lots of artistic and interesting games but none of them get promoted and people end up not having a proper way to discover them except for word of mouth
something that would solve this problem is if they had an specific tab to find these types of games, there could even be a "singeplayer" tab, and it wouldn't really affect the popular multiplayer games
they should just make a new singleplayer category
well... roblox also recommended me ALOT paid access but low player count games for some reasons
Same deepwoken is the only one with high player count
1:10 Where's Minecraft? :(
As a roblox Developer, you don't actually need to push microtransactions onto your games to make money. If you have a game with a lot of players, roblox will start giving you what is called a "Premium Payout" which means you get robux for every premium player that joins your game and for how long they spend playing your game.
Essentially, Roblox pays you for being popular automatically. This is why I can afford to never make microtransactions.
Hours
I think it matches what people think is a good game
Yep, it's got the replay ability and it's also pretty fun!
Hellmet and Centaura going hard as good multiplayer shooters
The closest thing we have to story games, are, well... the entirety of the "Story" genre, and Piggy.
I wouldn't say they're mind blowing stories, but it's a step towards a story driven game that can still make a huge impact in roblox's history, maybe one day a skilled developer looks back at what made these games popular then improves them with a better story, who knows?
However, such a game would need constant story updates or other game modes for replayability, depending on the genre It's possible to make a good story game with great replayability.
Here are 2 nice games i dont see talked about much on roblox, which dont have many meaningful microtransactions:
Quick Click: it has many visits (around 2M), but it averages 5 concurrent players.
I love how roblox just recommends me trash games like carry a friend etc. The only game which has endless fun as i have seen is hellmet.
HELLMET is pretty good, i also recommend block tales, which is one of, or if not THE best turn based roblox game i have ever seen. items, cards, special abilities, timings, etc.
have you tried Dummies vs Noobs its the game that came before HELLMET (and is fully finished development)
@@stilla1000yardcatstarebro I’ve been waiting for it and it was WORTH it!
HELLMET is pretty nice, i only really play a few games on roblox so its not all bad
only 2 roblox games that met the "good" games reqs I instantly thought of were blocktales or deepwoken
ah yes a deepwoken very good game when 3 depths gankers jump you and wipe your build bcs their father left way too early
roblox has awesome games, but they dont earn enough for you to see them.
I’ve never thought of it for some reason, Roblox doesn’t have reviews.. That’d be a really cool addition. I think it’d make the community feel more cohesive.
Mario maker 2 is a good game but nobody's played it for 3 years 😢
only cus nintendo hates when people have fun and dropped support for it, also buying a membership to play the online aspects of a mostly online game is pure BS
@Akabalthy Yeah I know, I don't even have an online subscription
@@Akabalthy Nintendo, the strongest party pooper in history(and today)
thought you said movie maker 3 for a moment lmao
the game dried due to lack of updates.
Block tales: i beg to differ
To me if the game makes me want to come back every day it's a good game.
Like take ultrakill, you can beat the main story, but i keep coming back trying to p rank the levels
Same applies to games like combat initiation and other games that have that sweet sweet *replayability*
Block tales: hold my ball
There are times when you do find a genuinely good game on Roblox but at least for me after a month of playing it I feel like I just wear myself out and stop playing it until there are no good games left for me to play (the point of where I’m at)
I now find my self booting up Roblox looking at a few games and then thinking “nah not today” and then close Roblox. There are a few times when I find a game that looks interesting but then I only play it for 30 minutes max before I go do something else
JToH is a rabbit hole you will never get out of
An obbyist's career typically lasts around 3-4 years until they lose interest, it isn't infinite.
but that is true.
Oh yea visits shouldn’t equal to downloads/copies sold because it counts every time you join the game and not just the first time so its inaccurate to how many unique people actually played the game.
being a roblox player for 8 years i STILL play roblox alot almost everyday
block tales is a good example of this
really good game (despite technically being multiplayer) with pretty unique enemies and characters and stuff but it has like only 3,000 people playing it
I feel like there are more single player games out there on Roblox, but it's just not shown due to the algorithm keeping all the "successful" games on discover instead of new games which kinda defeats the whole discovering point when all it is is the same game on the same place on the discover page.
These games are multiplayer and stuff, but i really enjoyed these types of games, they just aren't around anymore though.
some of the few decent roblox games i've managed to access is pilgrammed and deepwoken
while deepwoken is quite promoted (since it can spike to 15k concurrent players), it's a paid game.
pilgrammed is "considered by roblox" dead, not getting anymore 4 digits players. both of the games offer a decently fun and complex experience for my taste, and actually elevate a bit of skills and fun gameplay mechanics
now compare it to the most popular games... brookhaven, pet simulator, blox fruits... yeah kids don't like being lowered to a skills and complexity level,
this is another flaw that roblox has, the playerbase just wants the easy to pick up game that guide them through everything and can give them gigantic advantages if you spend money on it, and because those games also make A TON of money, they're more likely to be promoted compared to other games. this incentivates crap like sol's rng, where you don't need to make a good game, you need to make a game easy to pick that can generate on the user's hand dopamine and potentially profit from it.
When u said single player games on Roblox don’t work I instantly thought of hours, which has had no updates in two years I believe and still has an active-ish community. Pretty good for a single player Roblox game
HOURS..... THATS ALLL IM GONNA SAY.
Ye
HOURS replayability is pretty bad and half the abilities are gamepass locked. as soon as you get every ability and character and have played with them, you kinda get bored
Sure the abilities are cool and everything but replayability is terrible and the gameplay itself is repetetive plsu it isnt even getting updated anymore
This is all based off experience
games don’t need to be popular to be *GOOD*
it doesn’t need to be single-player to be *GOOD*
all you need is a little appreciation of the up and coming games.
if you want a new experience of a nostalgic game, there’s probably something that suits that on Roblox.
(cough cough Regretevator cough cough)

wait so that one game about the towers was another dream of mine?
Oh yeah toilet tower defense is such a good game💀💀💀💀
Nah you want to know what fit with criteria of a good game "Dummy Vs Noobs" fun Co-op defense shooter game where you see if you can defense you and you're team against the waves of noobs against you
@@pugstick I think he was talking about Tower defense simulator 3 or something
@@macdonaldblox yeah, but I was just joking around...

Have you ever heard of Deepwoken? It was so good it broke into the Roblox front page by sheer quality and hype alone.
amazing animations and editting dude.
In Roblox, the games I enjoy the most are Item Asylum and Guts & Blackpower. Some of the only gemon the website in my opinion.
there are so many good games but they don't get pushed to the discover page thats the big problem
I don't wanna like play skibidi tower defense simulator
As a dev, to me no matter how good of a game you make it takes a long long time. Plus the roblox recommending system is just so bad it just cant show new games sometimes so its way harder for players for find newer games unless someone else suggests it.
listen roblox doesn't promote creativity it promotes the success so they could gain money.
Half of the game I play are small and have less then 1000 players, and I barely touch them in favor of playing my favorite, item asylum.
You should play Decaying Winter, it's one of the only games i know that have all the traits you said in the video, and the only one i waste my time on roblox. OBS: It's a hard game but it's fun at the start, and if anyone is going to start playing the game now, play at a private server, it's free.
i dont think decaying winter is single player lmfao
@@guythatplaysgames3656 it is if you make a private server like he said
*this explains how i lost my addiction to roblox*
the only way i find good games, is by seeing what my friend plays
idk how he finds a lot of underrated games
A "dead" but a really good game would be Neon Knights, it lacks a bit of story but the gameplay is fun, the characters are unique and has somewhat of an unique concept being a roguelike of sorts where you go into a round, get weapons, die, keep all weapons of the zones you had completed and go again with those weapons.
Now THIS was masterfully spoken. I like this. Thank you.
7:22 there did used to be a feature where you could comment on games, but that was removed because of scam bots.

cold truth is definetely a good game, it meets all the requirements and the lore is honestly depressing...

You can play the entire Campaign Solo or with a Group and there is a Story (The Seven to Nine Swords of SFOTH Have been taken)
i remember back in the early 2010s, namely 2013 and 2014, there were usually one or two singleplayer games on the front page
they usually met a good chunk of the criteria of what makes 'good games' as presented in the video, but as expected, it was all usually overshadowed by the multiplayer games back then
call this a view from rose-tinted glasses, but those multiplayer games back then were pretty fun, and *usually* didn't rely on microtransactions and live service stuff like nowadays and recent years
Alr lemme dump 1 game with these traits
Decaying winter
Unique Character = There is huge cosmetics menu which you can create own character + locked behind by Pledging (Rebirth by saying other games guh)
A story behind = There is literally document with lore which i'm not reading allat (ITS WAY TOO HUGE)
Concept = Literally another game launcher build into a game which makes it very own mechanic of the roblox platform
Fun = After playing a long time its becomes fun until you learn basics + if you have friends its becomes way funnier
I also can say "The battle bricks" Has many own huge pluses because its singleplayer and battle cats combined with roblox

Personally I believe that Roblox should consider an algorithm that works like the one of Netflix. Or at least a smilar one. Where when you play a certain type of game it recommends games of the same genre.
Star glitcher (zr/rvt)
it has unique characters like velnorum or veldus depending on who made the game
it's a unique concept where you transform between many modes and stylishly take down enemies
revitalised specifically will be having a story mode soon
there has always been lore
it is very fun
If I correctly understood the video, the good game means single player story driven games with unique concept and characters. Otherwise, it's not a good game. 5k IQ video
Seems like Robot 64 doesn’t exist then.
The top games are games that pay roblox with microtransactions
Robot 64, Microwave Dinner, and Kapi's Rock n' Roll would like to have a word with you.

Funny chibi woman at the end flipping everyone off is hilarious 🔥
i think the main problem is that roblox is too restrictive with content censorship and their monetisation. they rip people off, so the majority of serious developers will just go find another engine. also, splatoon is one of my favourite games of all time and it doesn't meet the "good story" criteria mentioned in the video + it mostly is bad as a singleplayer game, but i still like it because the core is Actually Fun. but most roblox games, to make them fun, will be coding so much different and swapping out so much of the base roblox "art style" that again, they could just use another engine and it'd be just as hard BUT with more creative freedom.
I feel like games on Roblox peaked in fun and love put into them in 2015-19
7:35 it makes sense for them tho thats sthe thing they make soo much money
heres the wild thing, i remeber a tie back in i think 2011-2012, where there COULD be good story games, main one that comes to mind for me, is super paper robloxia, if anyone remebers that, thats a good story game, but now its dead and gone
