Mark Bagwell’s comment about the effect of heat on pores are of course, spot on. Warm (not crazy hot) also helps clean up the follicle base. Which is one of the reasons a good warm face wash prep is a big help- even for a cold water shave. I shave using ice water, but always taking a warm shower before. I always finish my shower using my ‘Shower Cube ‘ and a loofa on my face. Nothing better for getting off the loose dead skin cells and such.

I'm glad One Blade is out there. Those blades work on Vintage Valet Auto Strop razors. Having a demand for the blades will keep them around for those who like vintage shaving gear.

Mark, great show. I am new to wet shaving by about 10 months, but it is a part of my daily ritual. Get up 4:15am to workout then shower and shave by 6am. 10 minutes in the shower and 30 minutes for my Zen Shave.😊 The Sterling Soap giveaway is an awesome giveaway. The Coniferous must smell awesome! Another great 3mb. Love all things sterling and Mark you got me hooked on them. Is it a mental disorder if your day is planned around your shave, what razor, soap, balm, aftershave, and edp you going to use. We’re not crazy 🤪 just passionate!
MMMB time again. More good info. Regarding open and closed pores...that has been one of my pet peeves whenever I hear wet shavers say they were using cold water to close the pores. Hopefully, enough shavers now realize that cold or hot water shaves merely calm, soothe, and refresh the skin before and after the shave. It's the alum, the witch hazel, and the balm that act as astringents, antiseptics, and moisturizers. Here's to clean, unclogged, and healthy OPEN pores 😉

Good morning Mark as usual Mandy and Rod never disappoint themselves and remain the usual nice people, thanks so much great giveaway. Just this morning I wrote to them in the comments about some rumors that say that the Weekend in Malibu fragrance will no longer be produced and I was expressing to them my concerns but above all those of my wife who loves that fragrance.
I prefer the Ozark Mountain fragrance (think that once I've finished shaving my wife and son run into my tiny bathroom to smell the wonderful scent that lingers in the air saying it feels like being outdoors sitting in a pine forest gazing the view) but also the Coniferus fragrance together with the Scots Pine Sheet are absolutely fantastic but on the other hand when you buy Stirling products where you get what you get well.
Mark thinks that since unfortunately not all Stirling products arrive in Italy, sometimes I use the shaving soap as a shower soap with extreme appreciation from those around me but above all from my wife.
I would also like to offer my most sincere compliments to Peter, I adore people who are so enterprising and with ingenuity, imagination and a desire to do things.

Good morning Mark!! I honestly think that Stirling shave soap was the best I've ever used. But please Rob/Mandy, see if setting up a Canadian distributor would be possible. Taxes and shipping here put your product on birthday gift only status!!
Stirling Soap was my first shave soap. I love their large samples on every soap so you know what you are getting. Price point is great. Personally I use both the Splashes and the Balms. Also use their pre shave soap which is a really good facial soap. Heck everything I have gotten from them has been great. They also make really good bath soap that worked perfect his year for stocking stuffers. If I had only one soap company this would be the one.

Other people may do something like Stan Chp. does, with or without any pre-shave soap. Good variation is start a paste in a bowl, but continue adding water to this paste spread onto the face; and mix more water onto the face until you are satisfied with that lather.

Wow, that NOS Gillette Aristocrat is the find of a lifetime. Still has the $5 price tag, but im sure it went for much more than that!

I appreciate Stirling keeping their shaving products affordable at a time when many artisans are increasing prices. It is not unusual to see some vendors selling a soap and matching splash for $50 while Stirling charges $28 (or less if you order the balm).

Hey Mark! Re the curled edges of snapped blades - I recently used one in my Parker SoloEdge and the cap clamped to the base tight enough to flatten the curls. I was impressed!
As for Gamechangers, there's a fourth closed comb base as well - the 1.05p, which came out a few months ago. I recently acquired the base plate and used it with some trepidation, as it is ranked as one of Razorock's most aggressive razors, but I found it surprisingly smooth; not as big a jump from the .84p as I expected - actually less blade feel, IMO, than the Lupo .95. The perfect option for anyone who wishes their .84p had just a bit more efficiency.
(There are four open comb options as well - regular and JAWS versions at .68 and .84)
Keith, wow! This is impressive. The Yaqi SE razor head, as I recall, does not have that ability...but, I'll have to double check.
I love Stirling soap, they are so easy to use i have tried many scents from them, and I think Campania is my favorite so far: amazing citrus summer cologne type scent! I have never tried Coniferous before but now I am curious, i think it sounds amazing based on the description

Great show Mark. Have you tried using desplined GEM blades in the new One Blade? You will have to let us know if it works. Did Doug say why they removed the chlorophyll from the Avo soap? It is another great scent from PAA. Thanks to Stirling for the Coniferous sets.

OneBlade is a great razor,
Proprietary blade at their price is the challenge. Mully in Japan can get those same blades way cheaper.😳 Mully needs to do a meet up in the US and just sell those blades, dude could pay for his trip😂
Seriously it is a great razor, but that proprietary blade on a per use basis, for the amount of shaves that you get out of that blade (roughly 3 for me) makes it tough. I think they would sell more razors if they lowered their blade cost in my opinion.

Stirling is my fave artisan! If i win can i get the post shave balm instead even though im not outside the us!? Their post shave balms and witch hazels are to die for! Ben Franklin is a home run!
