Enjoyed the vid Neil. Are Speciale Le Rouge your band? The music went very well with the sailing.

I wish you could find more of these boats in the States.

Yes! Not many have been brought over, so it takes patience and persistence to find the right one! 👍👍

    Hi Neil,
I may have the opportunity to buy a cruiser. How can you tell if it is a Drascombe or a Honor marine build?
    Cheers,
    Paul.

Hi Paul. My LBC had a small metal Honnor Marine plaque near the outboard well. Beyond that, I'm not sure. Why not give Tim a ring at HM, or Sharon at Churchouse. The differences to the eye are subtle, but I'd strongly recommend a Coaster over a LBC. All the best, Neil.

@@neilparks2651 Thanks for the reply Neil.
May I ask what would be your reasons to choose Coaster over Cruiser.
My intentions are to motor on canals and rivers and to sail in very light sea and weather conditions as possible keeping close to shore.
These boats are like hens teeth at the moment but I have been offered a Cruiser that looks fantastic.
      Cheers,
      Paul.

In calmer waters the Cruiser should be fine I think. In rougher conditions there is a large difference between the two though. Coaster: sealed centreboard casing = no slop in the cabin. Smaller cockpit with independent bilge & pump, so water in the cockpit doesn't drain into the cabin bilge. I've tried to allude to this in the YT video 'Drascombe Coaster Little Egret'.Slighter bigger cabin with well thought out stowage. The LBC has a boom though (which I kept, to put on the Coaster). I had great times on the LBC. Have fun! Neil

Ah, maybe those were your photos taken out there and put on the Drascombe Association site. I did a fair amount of Lugger and Dabber sailing over the years in another Gulf...Lingayen.
