I don’t believe in money or treats in exchange for helping with chores. They live in the home and contribute to the mess, so they clean up too. It starts with little things that add up to big helps. For example, if each kid knows how to pick up their dishes after meals and load them in the dishwasher that’s a lot of dishes off of you. Or putting clothes in a laundry hamper and when it’s full start a load of laundry. Those little daily things have to be taught and reinforced daily or they easily become overwhelming for one person- you! Start there and when you do the full dishes have one helper each night and teach them so they can be weaned off and do it properly themselves. Maybe while you put the baby to bed that’s the time when playroom and bedroom gets picked up. Their reward should be helping their mom and knowing you really appreciate them and their hearts of service. It’s teaching to serve each other in the home ❤

They should definitely be helping you out!!! You can create a chore chart for each child based on their age and only give snacks for the day, small gifts, tv watching, iPad, games etc when all chores have been completed. It will be hard at first since they’re not use to it but be consistent and take baby steps it does work. Toys and gifts for any occasion should be tied to how well they are doing ❤

Girl yes, while I'm cleaning one room, the next room is being destroyed. You're definitely not alone. I have my kids clean up at the end of the day before bed daily as a routine. They also each have a nightly chore chart.

Chores give children accountability. If you make a mess you have to clean it. Maxwell is old enough to understand the word "NO" and you can teach him how to pick up too. STTB

Girl as always love the video. I'm gonna tell you something my son does not help to do anything, I started by cleaning his whole room and telling him if he leaves toys not picked up I would throw it in the trash, it's been a few months and he is keeping his bedroom clean. Next is his play room but I figured one thing at a time.

Crissy you're the best mom💖 I love your style and you inspire me to decorate my home and to be patient with others🥰 how I got my grandkids to start helping me, I sat them down and let them know how I felt, of course in words for them to understand and I let them know I was not buying them things they really like unless they did chores without complaining, that now they had to earn it by cleaning their room and putting away their stuff and clothing neatly, its worked till now, 3months already ❤

Routine clean up after dinner or before bedtime every day! Remind kids to only taje out what they are willing to put back. Wirh kids, less is more....the mire they have....the more they take out...pack half of kids toys out of site into garage and switch out toys every 3 months. Same with clothes. When u have too much....laundry time is overwhelming. Cut clothes down by half.

Your girls are really well behaved. I think you can start implementing a structured program with the kids. If that means designating 30 min to a mini clean up party before the kids go to bed or starting a chore chart. Get them involved. You can make it e notable by turning on music while cleaning or having a fun indoor activity (baking cupcakes, game night, finger painting, etc) at the end of the week.

My best advice is I change my tone, so my kids know serious mama versus play mama. There habits that starts with one thing at a time. Start by then making up their beds in the morning, then after a couple of days of they doing great with that introduce other things like clearing the dishwasher, putting toys away, picking out their own clothes. Stay consistent you can do it!!! ❤

I enjoy watching you and your family. First write your vision / schedule your day, when you write it down follow it. Start by tapping your son on the hand letting him know that its wrong. I plant and garden believe me there's is stuff in that soil that can eventually make him sick. As for your daughters take way playtime and give quite time. If there is no consequence for not helping or messing up they will continue. I had three small ones and it was rough. An older lady talked to me and I put action. Dedicated a play area and place to store the toys. If you don't sway, mean what you say in afew months you will have some peace . And you get some rest. Blessings 😊😊

I love how your decorating in the girls room so precious! I love how you decorate your home. The plants are so beautiful I’m definitely going to Check them out, I love having live plants in my home I have a few. Something I do with my kids is I put the timer on for whatever time I usually go by how big the mess is, I say we have 5 mins to clean up let’s see if you guys can do it! And they have that mess up right away and it makes it fun. Also if they are not behaving and talking back I always do the taking something they love the most, 1 warning they get it taken away for a 1 day, 2nd warning 2 days and so on, it works pretty good.

If my kids want to play video games or have a special snack I tell them clean up or get nothing, it works lol. I am also that mom that’s quick to throw things out. They still destroy the house though lol. Also, I don’t seem to understand how people are concerned about ur progress in unpacking, it’s your home

My rule when it comes to toys is any thing left on the floor at the end of the night & or am given a hard time to clean up gets put into the closet storage until I feel they are ready to get it back again. We’ve had tears but this method seems to be working well for us. We also have age appropriate tasks /chores such as making sure your clothes are in the dirty clothes hamper, all trash after snacks etc go into the trash bin (mommy will not pick it up for you - I’ll remind but don’t give in) & after meals we place our plates on the kitchen counter instead of leaving the mess on the table. Things like this have made life a bit easier for me keeping up with all the task that come with maintaining our home 💗

My daughter is four years old, and my rule is, if you can take it out to play with, you can clean it up. I encourage her to clean up a mess before starting a new one, but of course that doesn’t always happen. When she tells me it’s too hard to clean up, I tell her I can make it easier by storing toys in the attic. That usually does the trick. I will help her clean, but not until she puts in effort first.

Always look forward to your videos❤ My little girl doesn't help clean around the house either but I recently saw a pinterest idea where with every chore they do they earn "money" and there is a concession stand set up in the kitchen where they can buy snacks for movie time on Fridays. The more "money" they have the more they can purchase
I'm def gonna try it out. ❤❤

I always be wondering why you are always cleaning up and the girls are sitting around on their tablets. They are at ages where they can help with chores. Teach then how to clean up after themselves, fold and save their own clothes, vacuum and pick up after themselves. You can reward them , not by buying them things but giving them small allowances to put in bank accounts. Chrissy when you have kids everything is so cute and you will want to buy it. Chrissy, you buy your kids a lot, you have birthday parties, with a lot if decorations, you celebrate every holiday by buying all kinds of things. Just think about if you would allocate most of those funds to their saving accounts. They would be set in their teens. When you are cleaning make sure that all hands are on deck and everyone is cleaning something also. Even if it is just wiping the table, getting things off floor and sofa. At least you know they are not messing up. If Maxwell is up put him in a play pen with something educational until you are finishing cleaning. This is not condemn your parenting skills, but give you a little wisdom !

Chrissy I'm in the same boat, my 14 year old boy omg it's mad irritating! I also have a 18 year old, a 4 year old and 1 year old. There always messes. With my older kids I make them clean up but usually the 14 will half do it and I do it again. My 18 year helps a lot. My little ones I make it like a game when cleaning up. I also only allow a little bit of toys at a time. They have their room and play room they will only utilize one room at a time to save me from double cleaning

I can’t stand doing the dishes.
And yes 1 of my kids I keep’s me picking up but I also stay after her about her picking things up she throughs or taking her stuff to the trash can, Routine, routine.
I only have 2 kids but if I had more definitely would have a chore chart & to help with your laundry have the girls put away their cloths you wash & dry.
Both my kids know where their cloths go.
Take advantage of your play room if your doing something they can play in their room or the toy room & make them responsible for picking up the mess.
As long as you there is a place for it to go when not in use you teach them where it goes when it’s “clean up time”

Hey sis, just catching up on your video and I wanted to stop and say I’m going through the same thing when it comes to laundry I have loads and loads of laundry. My kids have so much clothes and my husband! I’m probably the one person doesn’t have that many clothing, but our laundry piles up especially blankets, and I am constantly falling behind if I’m not cleaning clothes Folding them leaving them in baskets I’m not putting them away when they’re done being washed and folded honestly I have decided to start sending my laundry to the laundry mat to be done for me once a week so that I can stay on top of everything and the only thing I would have to do is put the clothes away! We have a laundry service where I live where you drop your clothes off they wash they dry and fold and match socks, which is a game changer for me! because I can’t stay on top of everything cleaning my house activities ,schoolwork cooking being a wife and a mom! so I totally understand you in that way as well. Oh my God I totally understand because I’ll be cleaning the dining room they’ll be destroying the playroom, so I recently started telling them if they don’t pick up after themselves they will not be allowed to do anything on the weekend and I’m throwing toys away now because I feel like I am constantly cleaning! Mom life can be hard! But we got this!!!❤❤❤
