Those brown and grey hul pieces are from set 6271, Imperial Flagship, which was released in ‘92 if I remember correctly. The stern and bow were also used in the 6268, Renegade Runner, minibus the centre hull piece.
@@DownUnderBricks A set of the original sails in any sort of decent condition would cost a pretty penny I don’t doubt. However, depending on how much of a purist you are I’d wager you’d be able to buy a set of aftermarket, third party replacement sails that shouldn’t break the bank.
I live near 2 Lego Stores one is about 12minutes from my home and the other is about 25 minutes away. I've heard the one that is furthest away has the largest PAB wall in North America and tends to receive the coolest parts too. The menu changes every quarter (3months) and the wall gets new stock on Wednesday at one store and Friday at the other. The price for the large cup/box is $20.
Always enjoy going to the Lego store which for me is an hours drive away. I tend to go around 3 to 4 times a year. The PAB wall is addictive and have many of the old cups still full of the bricks I put in them lol. Hopefully soon I can decanter them and sort my parts out. The PAB wall is certainly the cheapest way to buy parts.
Sounds like a good routine. I was genuinely surprised how much was in the tub when I tipped them all in. Oh so you like sorting as much as me then 😂. I think I’ll put all the 2x2 and 2x4 back in the boxes, I guess they are better for storage
When you've reached the top of the box that's the point where you can only fit one more layer of bricks in! card is pretty maluable and as long is it can just about touch the other side so you can secure it with tape you are good to go. Or maybe our local is just more lineant with us regulars, we don't even have to ask for the tape anymore.
I’m in a similar boat living in Tasmania that Lego stores are a plane trip away. I’ve been lucky in that I head over to the big island semi regularly (namely Melbourne) and there’s a store at Melbourne Central which isn’t far from my sisters. I’ve also been out to Chadstone a couple of times too, but that’s more of a hassle to get to.
Congrats 🎆 👏 going to the LEGO Store for the first time 😊 I like how you stack them and put them in the box that is very clever! The cups the shape of them would of been harder to stack them like that! You got alot for a good price awesome👍 I had a LEGO store near me it was at a small mall then they move it to a bigger mall which is huge an hour away! They have all kinds of builds in the window display and alot more bigger set's there! I remember they build the giant eiffel tower, which was cool! My old LEGO store I remember the Employees build 3 feet giant lightsabers, different colors out of bricks they had really great dimensions to them which I thought was cool! The also had free monthly builds for kids to take home!
I believe I've only ever been in an official Lego Store once in my life and I didn't even buy anything. I do own 117 "sets" according to Brickset so it's probably not a place I should visit unless I want that number to climb to an even more ridiculous level. I basically have my own Lego Store in my toy room anyway.
It looks like you had fun. The Chermside store is only 20 minutes away from me. The pick a brick wall there is pretty meh most of time and the set selection has been pretty limited for a while. Dreamworld is a hour away from. It's normally way better in the pick a brick and set selection. I didn't know there was a store at the airport. Is it open to the general public or is behind the gates? There is also another store in Brisbane that sells new and old sets.😀👍 Oh yeah the weather is still 💩.
Yeah it was good to see. I said to one of the staff (that was helping me stack bricks lol) that I was surprised not to see the Venator and apparently they got 8 in the Friday before and sold them all that day! The store is past the security gate but you could still away go through security anyways. Could be worth it if you are chasing older sets. What is the name of the other shop, I’ll have to keep it in mind next time.
I'm lucky I live only 7 minutes by bike from my closest store and my metro area has 6 of them. I go there a lot and Pick a Brick and Build a Minifigure if what I mostly buy there. Hardly ever sets. Regarding 17:10, there's currently not really much change to the selection. The current set they can order from (which is pretty good) was instroduced in June, 2023 and is unchanged since then. Before that, the set changed every few months but it's constant now. (Rumor has it, the team working on the set doesn't have all positions filled, at the moment.) Still, the PaB wall is a great place to get parts cheap in quanitity and some MOCs only become possible because of it.
Lego stores are great for the theme park like excitement and exclusive sets, and most importantly seeing new large sets built irl. But its been so many years since i've bought full priced lego (thanks brickhawk) that seeing rrp makes me cringe, genuine awkwardness. What i do these days? Polybags for the boy, and looking for transparent pieces in the pick a brick wall. HOLY CRAP THEY HAVE CLEAR BRICKS IM GOING THANKS.
Well said mate, I seldom do to. Even the ornithopter I really wanted and was going to use some vip points for I ended up ordering from Kmart for 20% off on release day. Haha go get them bricks!
i went to the opening day of the adelaide store, it wasnt bad, the line up sucked, haha, have been a few times since then but its 2 hours away and i dont go to adelaide much
You've never been to a Lego store? That's a first time I've heard of a Lego fan whose never been to a Lego store. There are probably some who haven't been, but I have never heard of such a thing. Well than again, I met a guy whose never heard of Bricklink. I should not be surprised, but hey cool, that sounds like a lovely time. Also like how parking lot is called a car park. I just imagine a like a dog park, but just a bunch of cars just chilling.
@@DownUnderBricks Really? There were no Lego Stores in Australia? Shows how much I know about the world. I learn new things every day, well now I know, thanks for explaining it.
I wasn't a fan of the PAB boxes to begin with, but they are growing on me! Super cool pick. Great content and channel! We just subscribed! We'd be honored if you had the chance to check out our LEGO content too. Either way, keep on building and smiling!

Thanks mate, I’ve always wanted the imperial flagship. I bet those sails cost a pretty penny
Holey dooley
You should have gotten The Spong to pack that PAB Box
Great episode

Wow! Big Store and nice layout!

Glad you enjoyed your visit to Brisbane.
One more day off and back to work 😫

That’s smart to have builds for the kids, it’s definitely a fun place to hang out but maybe not to buy sets 😂
Only on special occasions for big set's
Ive never been to a lego store either our nearest one is 500 miles away i love the masonry bricks I’m jealous
It was fun but your not missing out on to much. The pick a brick wall was definitely the highlight 😁
You chose easily the best lego store in Aus to go to first. Dreamworld is the best one around
Cheers mate
Glad you enjoyed Brisbane, my favorit store is the one at dreamworld, just 1h away from me, very dangerous 😊
Haha I bet
Opposite problem for me as my Lego store is close by so I’m being told by the Lego employees that I’m always there.😂
😂
3:25 I guess those are from se 6271 Imperial Flagship
Oh damn I’ve always wanted that set. The sails would be crazy expensive 🤔
Nice job on the Pick a Brick 👍 I have a Lego Store 10 minute walk from where I work.. can be dangerous 😂
Never seen such good quality pieces at either of my local-ish lego stores pick a brick walls
I must of time it right 😆
I got some trans dark blue 1x2 tiles one time, that's about the pinnacle
Not even light blue 😂
You did it 🎉
Finally 😂

The PAB wall in the Melbourne Central store is consistently disappointing for its range. Especially compared to to the US stores.
No doubt, still good for a visit 👍
Hi mate. Great video and you’ve done well with PAB. Do the Lego stores no longer do cups?
Not anymore apparently

Let me guess, the prices 🤔 nah it’s because of no classic space 😂
