Sadly went to finally buy one on amazon and its no longer in stock.Contacted pecsu and it sounds like they no longer make it 😢.They stated they are working on a newer version. 3:23
I agree. I bought the P5S in January 2023 before I saw your review. Although it runs backleveled Android 8, sideloading apps makes it way better than the other mp3 players out there. I've loaded my favorite apps in apk. It even runs my own app I created in Android studio. I just have to find a good xapk installer now.
I got this for my son and now trying to figure out how to get Apitoid on there for him…or anything similar! Right now he just wants UA-cam at the very least! But would also love a few games!! But can you help me figure out how to “side load apps”? (Sorry, I don’t even know what that means! Lol!)
10:20 - Note it says "full charge." I did have it plugged in to USB port which does trickle charge in my car. My bad! Still, not terrible battery at all.
It’s not too low. It’ll get just as loud as any other Android device. Working on a video for this weekend for the AGPTek T06S player. Pretty similar device, but it’s got a camera. Having fun with it so far!
Nice review. Looking at the new G5 version with play store…would love to see in depth gaming tests. Did Minecraft play decently? Seems like a good device for a child who just wants to play some music, UA-cam and simple games
On this one Minecraft took a while to load, but it ran great…before being updated onto the beta. My son alternates between the one from AGPTek (it’s got a camera) and a really cheap phone I picked up at BestBuy a couple years ago. Honestly, he likes the phone best because of the bigger screen. Black Friday is coming and you can probably pick up a cheap pre-pay phone from BestBuy and not activate it. Then use parental controls and lock it down some.
Hii so I’m kinda late but I’m new to all this mp3 stuff and I really want one so I can listen to music offline where ever I am, I want to know if this mp3 lets me use it without internet like how do I download songs? Also is it able to get a app called discord? Also can it delete apps? Also would I be able to use a MacBook to download stuff on it?
I have had this for a couple of weeks now and Yes the volume is very low on the 3.5 output, I mostly use Spotify and Tidal on this unit. Have you had any luck with any EQ or booster to help with this issue, I have tried a few with no luck. I agree, this unit becomes useful when I use my Bluetooth headphone or TWS units.
@@JimiMckeever Ahh, no, I don't think it would. Only in PowerAmp. I just did some Googl-ing and saw that PowerAmp's EQ is also its own app, now, and can be used across other apps. Looks like it's got in-app-purchases, though. I might check it out myself.
How do you play music from a SD card on this MP3 player. I put a microSD card India MP3 player but it wants need to format the SD card. I format a SD card but it still doesn't recognize the SD card. Can you show how to put and use the SD card on the MP3 player.
They make little box cases for small electronics and cameras. I don't know if there would be any other options like a phone has. AGPTek makes one and so does wgear.
Have JBL flip 5 speakers / P5S. Need to get JBL Portable app to be able to link the speakers but cannot access Google Play & cannot download it. Keep reading / hearing about APK files & workarounds. Are there any tips or guides for an absolute novice please?
Check out APKMirror website to download the APK directly. Then you drag and drop the file onto the player just like you do music. Go to the file browser app on the player, click the APK, and it installs just like a program on any device.
Sound quality is about the same. There isn’t any specifics on a DAC for this device so I think it’s the basic "what comes with the chip" type stuff. Like the realtek audio on a PC, haha. Really the only major limit is the volume controls built in on Android. Can always mess around with the EQ in PowerAmp, too. Other than that, I really love this device. If I was on a budget around $50, I would save a while longer and get the P5S. I’m going to be giving the Louran to my dad for his birthday next week to use in his car. Really both good devices, but being able to load your own apps makes this one my top pick.
Bogs down with libraries over 1000 tracks, but if you set things in their own CD size directories, it's completely manageable. Still one of the better touch screen devices I've used in this price range.
I honestly don’t know as at the time I made this video I didn’t have a car capable of Android Auto, just Bluetooth…and since this video, I’ve given the player away. I’ve actually just been using the Mechen M30 with an AUX cable for the past year or so.
I haven’t had a chance to use an M4 Pro, but this one has been better than any other Android based MP3 player I’ve used to date. It’s got quirks, but it is a darn good player. Love being able to sideload games and apps, too.

OK. More fiddling and voila! I reloaded the OS via the system reset option and I am now able to sideload apps. Seems a little flakey. I also looked for OS patches and updates and there are none since 2018 on this devise. So buyer be ware. Lots of security patches have happened since Android 8.x came out. Even to V8.
