I'd be interested in seeing what the 620R package could ultimately "do" on Spa or the "ring" with an ultra-light weight carbon fiber/epoxy, Lotus 11 streamlined body fitted.
It would be good to see what an aero 620r just on its own would do round spa. I get a 2m50s lap in my standard 310r around spa, with double the power to weight and a sequential the 620r would get a pretty decent time 👌🏻
i have a 981 Cayman S and a 7 not a 620 though its closer to a 420performance wise. Two totally different driving experiences. The Cayman is much quicker and more balanced in long sweeping corners it also has the delightful mid engine central feel that just begs you to crazy things in it, in a straight line over 80-90mph it just destroys the 7 on acceleration, 7's hit a brick wall over 60mph, they have the power to weight to push through the wall but they start to get very brutal on the senses. The 7 is a lot more nimble, its got a lot more play to place it where you want mid corner, not to say the Cayman isn't good, in fact its really good but the 7 is just lighter so it cant be beat for ease of placement. you need to be a better driver to drive the 7 quickly it will switch ends on you in a heartbeat, the rear is very lively and the front is pretty heavy, if your reactions are not lightning quick it will get away from you. the Cayman is a lot lot more progressive in its breakaway, its very easy to go very quick in with very limited skill in a Cayman. when it comes to track days the 7 is more of an experience to drive its just more raw and exciting but the Cayman gives you 95% of it and you can drive it home in the rain and not have the thing throw you into a ditch on the side of the road. one thing with the Cayman is if you mess up on track its going to really hurt the pocket! parts for the 7 are pretty cheap and available. the 7 has to be the most repairable car on the planet, even if you bend/tweak the chassis it can be easily fixed and a new chassis is cheaper than a single panel for the Porsche. which would i rather be in if i crashed? the Porsche every time. which one do i drive the fastest? The 7!
I had a seven with a 260 HP Cosworth engine topped out at 156 mph and did the 1/4 mile in 12.6 @110 mph didn’t have too many Porsche problems LOL. His screens too large will kill top speed
You should try a mapped 620, very little will look at it up to 140, inc GT3rs. Completely different league to the 420, leads the big boys on a short track. Driven a mapped 718 Cayman- very quick, capable and underestimated car.

Heavy and powerful now you need casted parts and very good part to handle weight, meaning more money. OR medium weight with tons of downforce and mid-size engine that can stay with heavy but handle right light. Medium weight cars modified remind me of GT3 cars

There's usually someone who is a better driver, or at least knows the track better than you too, which means the fastest (on paper) car doesn't always 'win'. As a former Caterham owner, I honestly thought the Caterham was just enjoying playing games with the Porsche driver, who clearly didn't appear happy that his pride and joy couldn't shake off a kit car. Cornering wise, the Caterham seemed to have plenty left in reserve. In expert hands, the Atom and the 7 are usually fairly evenly matched.
Yeah they do for sure, I own a Westfield kit car running a rotrex charged Honda S2000 engine so very similar performance to the 620r and after flat out in 4th at 110 mph it tapers off
Spa is a power track but was surprised to see the Caterham maxing our through Eau Rouge and not down the Kemmel Straight. The GT4 just had better top speed

Excellent job. Youll be even faster with an aeroscreen and we will be able to see the track and cars ahead of you sooooo much better. That rear view mirror kinda spoilt things a tad. Great vid though
It's me or I was expecting a bit more straight line acceleration being a 620R? Nevertheless, I love those cars. Maybe it is for a limited top speed that the GT4 always comes again at the end of the fast zones?
pretty sure that model is around 155mph top speed, but depending on the license you may have to keep it under 120. Definitely looks like he comes off the throttle a lot once he's over 100 so I'm going with the second.

I have a Tiger which is a similar style car, albeit nowhere near as good in terms of performance and honestly they're scary over 70 because they're so open and lightweight. The 620r is much better of course, but I wouldn't want to hit 155mph in one!
Could have overtaken him and walked away except for the limited top speed on the straights. I assume due to high drag. Once you get up there it's a real detriment,
That yellow Porsche was a pain. You were clearly faster then it; it just held you up everywhere except for the straight. So frustrating. Ruins your day

@Keirnon Grainger I have not driver a 620R but a tuned duratec with 300bhp and i own my self a R400K and John is right. The cars was way under the limit.

Not one for rules....As the 'Ring is a public road, you must treat it as so. Therefore, you should always be as careful as possible while overtaking, and only overtake on the left. You shouldn't overtake on the right, and you must take extreme care so as to not endanger anyone else on the road. When you drive the 'Ring, you're not racing.
please remove Rear View mirror. obstructs video view. nice, I was there for first time in July 2019 M2 Comp. Two short of a course. One has to make the same mistake every 3 minutes or so.
That was incredible. Had to take a deep breath and wipe the sweat off my brow when you were done.

The Atom looked a bit twitchy, looked like both over and under steer on the same corner.

The guy driving the caterham was very average ,put a good young cart driver in it and he would have embarrassed them all .
