Thank you so very much for filming that part of the Portland area it was a memorable trip back home , I lived in that area for several years and shop at the same stores you filmed . As for Taco Time they are the best and use to eat there at least once or twice a month. Hey Wade.. in Australia we have McDonald’s, usually known as macca’s. KFC, Pizza Hut. We also have a lot of Asian take out, Chinese, Thai, Indian. We like Lebanese, Italian and mostly would order delivery except for the odd visit to macca’s. I would say we are average in out takeaway habits so maybe once a week I guess. We are lucky to have an abundance of fresh meats and produce here in Australia do cook at home most of the time.
I’m a grandmother so enjoy your adventures with your mum and family. You’re doing a great job of supporting your family . I wish you luck in the future .

I haven't lived in the UK for a very long time, but I do know they have McDonalds, Five Guys, KFC, Nando's and Burger King there.
We do have takeaways, Fish and chips, Chinese, Pizzas, Indian, MacDonalds, Burger King and KFC!! etc etc...

What a fantastic find in the red unit both great looking sewing machines. I enjoyed going through the stores with you, they are huge and there is plenty of space to walk around in. In our area there aren't many stores or shops where I can go in my wheelchair as the buildings are very very old. In our little town I can't get in one of them if they are busy and most not at all. So to see your stores is a treat for me. Thank you both for taking me along, love and hugs to all the family Mary-Ellen UK
Re: the Payless Shoe Source liquidation and other brick and mortar stores closing. According to the publication Business Insider, more than 4,000 traditional retail stores will be closing their doors this year throughout the country for a variety of reasons - poor management, online sales, cash poor, wrong product mix etc. This will provide a huge opportunity for resellers to add inventory to their eBay, Amazon and other platform stores. While it may seem callous, as many people will become unemployed at least temporarily due to the closure of so many stores, the liquidation sales will provide a significant amount of inventory for those who are able and willing to visit these retailers who are closing their doors forever.
I love to go to thrift stores. I get candles "I love candles" even if they have been used. The ones in jars I get the wax out and I use it like a canister . I have to buy a lot of spoons and forks. For some reason they disappear.

Those prices are expensive for a goodwill. Ours has set prices for each item like 6 for pants 4 for shirts shoes are 3. If something has a tag new it's a dollar or so higher.
We had to put a lock on the dumpster at the store where I used to work. Not because of divers, but because one of our employees got the scare of her life when she went to throw away trash one morning. There was a drunk who had been sleeping in it and he grabbed her. Luckily she got away, but the police were unable to locate the suspect.
Glad I watched this one to the end. I was so surprised on the other videos that there were no sewing machines. Glad to see they were there afterall.

Pizza Hut, Macdonalds, Burger King, Indian food, Chinese food and kebabs. That's just what I can think of in our area. Hope that gives you an idea of what small towns have. I'm gluten free so most of that had to give up about 15/20 years ago.

my dumpster driving is severely limited in such a small town as I live in. We only have 3 stores, and two smash and bundle their cardboard, so that leaves one store in town I can get boxes from unless sI get to one of the others before they compact and bale. Once in a while I do check the other containers, sometimes I find usable or salable items.
Umm hi mom n wade. Sometimes they put high prices on items...then when they don't sell lower them. Friends n family wait. This is a fun video

Hello Wade and Mom, I live in England. We have Macdonalds, Burger King and KFC. Lots of small independent pizza and kebab shops. Our best takeaways are the Fish and Chip shops. (Chippys). Love your videos. Lots of love. ☺

Your Mum is so much like mine used to be when she could get around , except for the craft part but she'd be game for just about anything when she was able.

Can’t get boxes here from dumpsters. They cut them down and bail them up so there’s no way you can even lift them. Only one grocery store will let people take boxes, but they have to be reserved ahead of time. What a pain! Also in Wisconsin, there is a $200 fine if you drive with your handicapped tag hanging on your mirror. You can only put it up when you park in a designated handicapped parking space.
In Belgium it used to be only fries with mayo or other sauces, but now there's still those fries of course, but also loads of durum places, some Macdonalds, some pizza places and of course the ubiquitous take away Chinese restaurants.
The lake is a lovely thing to have near your home :)

In South Africa, we have McD's, KFC, Nando's (Portuguese chicken), Kauai (healthy wraps and freezoss, Steers and Spur (burgers, steaks, etc), a variety of Indian food, many Chinese take-aways, Pizza del Forno, Pizza Hut, sushi, fish and chips, Thai food, braai (barbecue) street stalls,
etc
Went to our local Goodwill last weekend. They had a fleece pullover Columbia shirt for $24.99 and a leather jacket for $59.99. I liked them, but no way will I pay that!
Their prices went up ever since people buy from them to sell in Ebay, Etsy and the others. But for the rest of us we can't get nice things at those prices.

RE: Boxes. One of my local post offices serves as the parcel pick up location for anyone who received a notice when an attempt was made to deliver a box and they were not home. As this office services a fairly large geographic area, there is a separate office space within the building to accommodate everyone who need to collect their Amazon and other online purchases. While there is a post office only 3 blocks from my home, I opt to come to this alternate office, only 2 miles from my home, to stock up on free shipping supplies.
The post office provides recycle bins, so when postal customers collect their parcels, they will often unbox and discard Amazon boxes of every size imaginable, heaps of bubble wrap, styrafoam peanuts, sealed air packing containers and brown butcher packing paper. Outside of tape, I've yet to purchase any shipping supplies in all of the years which I've been selling in eBay. In addition to this free source, Craigslist and NextDoor provide at least 1/2 dozen offers per week for free boxes, bubble wrap and other packing materials which residents are trying to give away for reuse.
Or fast food is fish &chips ,pizza India takeaway , Chinese takeaway or good old MacDonald in the UK

In the uk we have Mac Donald’s , subway , Burger King , kfc , dominos. That’s in my area , we don’t have any taco places tho , I’d love to try Taco Bell 😉

you would need to check the brand but the ones with belts, snaps and zippers do quite well.
It's unbelievable the amounts some people throw into the trash. Unfortunately, dumb diving is illegal in Germany. Most dumpsters are locked with locks. And if you get caught you can expect a report. I think this is a shame, but the businesses probably get money from recycling companies and they fear that they will lose income.

not all salvation army stores have the same pricing . The one i work at the warehouse does the pricing on clothing everything else that comes to our store weather i pull it out of the bins or it comes from our warehouse we price it there in our store.
