I am absolutely so grateful that Kevin Lee Jacobs invites us into a world that so few of us can experience. When he says things referencing the potatoes that we planted or the items we picked up at Tierra Farms or items that we baked before and put away, we are so included in his lovely peaceful home and beautiful experiences. You probably already know this, but! Once silver is polished, if it is hand washed in regular old Joy or Dawn, or some other liquid dish detergent and water, it will retain its shine. The washing, weekly or biweekly removes the contaminants that cause oxidation and tarnish. It works! The tea food looks delicious!

Oxydisation only needs a gentle touch to be removed, like dust. No special product. Just like silver jewels. Passing with a towel is enough if done regularly
great tip! I cheat and cling wrap silver and it never oxidizes.
Mr.Jacobs what a beautiful sterling tea and coffee service! We share something in common. I’m an avid sterling and silver collector. I have a 1901 Gorham five piece sterling service. Same year of manufacture as yours! Love your home, and the fact you are not afraid to live graciously and fully in the beautifully appointed rooms! You should try Simpson and Vails cranberry orange looseleaf tea it’s one of my favorites. All natural ingredients. I should try your chocolate orange cookie recipe.

When I was a very young child, that was my job to polish silver before every holiday. I still have a few pieces from my grandparents. Because of you I have been treating myself with fresh flowers every week it's the little things that bring such joy. Thank you

Nice to see the microplane grater. It started when Lorraine Lee, wife of one of the owners of Lee Valley Tools in Ottawa, needed to mske an Armenian orange cake and swiped a new tool hubby brought home from the store. Lee Valley Tools has expanded across Canada since and is a favourite "toy store" for many of us. I can easily see you in one.

OMG Kevin! That tea set is to die for! Bravo Mr. Fox, for your excellent taste and negotiation abilities to get this gorgeous set for Kevin Christmas gift! Teatime videos, bring a special remembrance of past times, when that ritual was observed daily at 5PM in the country I grew up in South America. Silver sets and porcelain tea sets, was the norm, as were the little finger sandwiches and pastries! A tradition we took after the English customs! I still have my tea cup at 4PM (a little earlier, since I live now in the US) and although no cookies or finger sandwiches are involved, it must be in a beautiful English porcelain cup. Thank you for all the wonderful videos that you post. Today our dessert was your "Creme Brulee". It was fantastic, and we still have enough left for tomorrow!

HOLD the phone!! I just received my Valentine Box from Tierra Farms. I just ordered it a few days ago. I can’t believe how fast it came. I also ordered some Earl Grey tea. I had to have a cup of that right away. All I can say is WOW. This box is full of goodies. Coffee, tea and chocolate chips. And the recipe for the orange chocolate chip cookies. It’s a wonderful box. I don't have a Silver service but I used to work for a lady that had a safe full of it,my that was a job to clean but boy she had Beautiful dinner parties like you do,someday I hope to have a set,but I have beautiful Milk Glass, lovely pieces,and I wanted to mention She had 5 huge Chandeliers I'd clean with rubbing alcohol the crystals,and she had a Fireplace she bought from a castle in France,When I watch you and I think about her, she has passed on,but I've learned so much from her,and from you,Thank you for what you do,showing us your lovely home,God Bless You Both.

Off subject you should start Avery on powdered glucosamine and chondroitin sprinkled in his food and NAC sprinkled in his water. This is what they feed fine horses for joint health benefits. His right front joint looked like he was feeling it in your video. Very common in dogs.
Also good for humans.

That’s a beautiful silver set! Silver can be a bit of work but I find you can do an effective polishing with just a silver cleaning cloth.
I have been looking at your earlier videos although I have to limit them to two a day or I would get nothing done! I love your attention to detail in setting the table and the interesting, and not too complicated, recipes.

( I would recommend to remove the wooden handle for cleaning as far as possible or to wrap it e.g. with cling film to avoid stains of the silver polish ).

When setting my table for my Christmas luncheon for my 8 sorority sisters I remembered my silver. Got it out, polished it and used for the lunch. Everyone thought oooh, fancy. We need to use our silver more.

The best cookies! Grateful for the recipe that I converted into a gluten free treat. Thank you from Southern California. Combining the cookies with an orange spice tea made a rare rainy day very special with my grandmother’s Wedgewood plates, cups and saucers in the Windermere pattern. My adult daughter loved it all. Hint - gluten free flour does need a few minutes more than your suggested time. Bravo!
