- China has made history by exporting the world's first hydrogen-powered smart tram to Malaysia. Developed by CRRC Zhuzhou, this groundbreaking tram utilizes a hydrogen energy power system, offering advantages like longer driving range and shorter refueling time, while being environmentally friendly and energy-saving. After production in Zhuzhou, the tram is now en route from Shanghai to Malaysia, where it will serve as urban transport in Kuching, Sarawak's capital. The intelligent design upgrades align with Malaysia's goal of achieving a zero-emission, intelligent public transport system. Upon arrival, the tram will undergo three months of testing in Kuching to alleviate traffic congestion and provide a reliable, efficient, and modern mode of travel for the locals. Hydrogen is used in fuel cell to power the tram or train. The power from fuel cell is out of this world. But hydrogen is very explosive.
Sarawak have been using Hydrogen Bus for public transport since 2020
