I know it’s a terrible movie, in many ways, but I’m extremely nostalgic about it. As a child I thought Lorraine Gary was great as the lead, an older woman -it was just such a different choice. I’ve seen this movie so many times!
I think the opening scene was the first time I saw someone killed in a film (I was 6), if not then at least the first time I saw any gore, it freaked me out a bit. My uncle was making fun of it though.
For sure! I watched it many times as well as a kid, and didn't hate it. It was entertaining because I didn't need it to make sense, it was just fun and still intense. But obviously it's got many many flaws and those flaws are hard to look past, but I could still watch it again with people who have never seen it.
0:05 'Jaws: The Revenge' is not only insulting to sharks and film itself; it's an insult to REVENGE. ;)
#vendetta
You know you messed up bad when the Voodoo plot employing a cursed Brody family and a roaring ghost shark was the more coherent plot
I have a funny story in regards to this film. Back when I was like 11 or 12 years old, I was at a local video store and saw a DVD copy of Jaws The Revenge on the shelf.
The funny thing is that I never saw the film prior to that day. I didn't even know it existed! I had watched the two previous sequels, not knowing there was a fourth. In my head (as a naive kid) I was like "Oh, cool! Another Jaws film! Can't wait to see this!"
My mom was there with me and made a deal with me. She'd buy it and I would finish my school work when I got home (I was homeschooled at the time). So I finished my work, popped it in all excited... and nearly fell asleep during the film.
So what did I take away from this experience? Finished school work and a nap. That's gotta count for something huh? 😅
Fun fact: Michael Caines $1.5M 7-day paycheck in 1987 would be about $4.2M in today's dollars.
the stunt double for Ellen falling off the boat at the end was hilariously bad 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Its the grown-up offspring of Jaws 1 shark and the Jaws 2 shark, according to the novel
Christ Stuckmann's Hilariocity about this is great. Those were the days when Chris didn't praise every movie.
1000% agree with this. I was highly into the Jaws films when this came out... Moreso, I was totally into oceanography and sharks, in particular. I knew the franchise very well, so to see that they killed off Chief Brody and Sea (the youngest) within the first 10 minutes of the film, completely devastated me! I was pretty much checked out for the rest of the movie... A movie that didn't need to be made😢
I saw this in the theater as a kid and thought it was terrible then!
Helen said Brody died of the fear of the shark humans have a big advantage over sharks sharks can't live out of water just stay out of the water and you don't need to be scared of them anymore
I remember seeing this model being destroyed by the elements in a video with haunting music. It showed the model over the years being destroyed by the weather, Sun etc.. It was heartbreaking. Im so glad you fixed him up!
We used to watch this movie just to make fun of it. It is complete garbage. I personally love JAWS 2, but it should have ended there.
The Brody Bros were the main characters in pt 3 as well. Dennis Quaid was the older one and they worked at Sea World. They rarely even acknowledged their past history with sharks and only had the names of the characters.
When everyone's going to the theaters to see the new Exorcist film, I'll be home re-watching Jaws the Revenge
Keep it up Adam! I'm enjoying your roast vids!
This was the best part of shark week so far, Jason Momoa missed out not getting in on this gig instead.
😂😂6:43 had me floored “blew the fuck up”
The Roy Scheider flashback scenes might be one of the first examples of cheap 'memberberries' being dropped into a franchise movie.
One of the best reviews ever , classic Adam.
It's an insult to revenge it self.
I enjoy all the Jaws films, even the third one (which you should review too!) I actually saw this in the theater, but the death of the shark is different. In the theatrical version, when Ellen rams the shark, it stays impaled on the bowsprit of the boat, and doesn’t explode, but causes the boat to break apart and sink. The explosion thing didn’t make sense, but that was the least of the movie’s concerns. 😂
I am proud to say I've never seen Jaws The Revenge-- but that being said, I still know pretty much everything about it, including Michael Caine's suddenly completely dry shirt. I knew things were going sideways after Jaws 3D. I would argue that Jaws 2 is a bit underrated- yeah it's nowhere as good as the original, but not terrible.
I haven't seen this since i was young. My dad was so mad about how bad the plot was and the generic shark.
Depending on the version you watched. Shark either explodes or literally goes down with the ship.
Also, the clip of the shark corpse at the end is scene from the original
Serious question, i thought you already have another job as a graphic designer. Is it not your main career
I’m a full time web designer and front end developer. I was just making a joke in the video
Yeah, you had nightmares going into your parents pool and a shark would manifest somehow. But a shark that comes gunning for you is ridiculous. C'mon Adam. 🙈😁😜😉
I remember seeing JAWS IV even in theatre. But not more often than that. 🙈
This is why I will stay in MN. My irrational fear of sharks is still in full force even in a pool.
And after seeing the clip of the sunken ship, I now remember I have seen this movie. What a ride.
I remember Mario Van Peebles character Jake being what I assumed eaten. I had no idea he survived the attack. I must have bailed right after they killed the shark. I should have bounced halfway through this garbage.
I saw this in theaters wiht my dad i liked it at the time but looking back it was because i was a kid lol. Jaws 3-D was the first one i ever saw though because it was on tv a ton.

If you've been on the Universal Studios tour then you've probably seen where they shot this. There's a large blue screen with a pool in front of it, outdoors of course. The tram goes past it.
I'm just here to see the other film credit in Lance Guest's career.
Never seen this was waiting decades for your roast lol
Writers for this movie took all the drugs 😂
Ok Adam, I went on the Surf Style website and I did not see sleeveless hoodies. I am all about what Abroham Lincoln said about abolishing sleevery, and I am looking for a link for one of those badbois cause I like it.
When this came out I was 12 and thought it was incredible. Obviously I wasn’t very bright.
I seriously enjoy this one more than Jaws 3D. This one is so terrible it's a hoot. Truly a terrible movie goldmine. It's not even the worst fourth movie in a series out there. As long as Matrix Resurrections exists....many unloved and reviled films will never know what it feels like to be at the VERY bottom. Thank you Matrix Resurrections for making so many movies better than at least SOMETHING..
Underrated 😅😅 channel
I think Voodoo is involved regarding the Shark hunting the Brodies. I just found this out
Your improv songs were bangers lol
Some feedback on the channel. I feel like recently you have been using different thumbnails or taking new photos. This doesn't matter to me b/c I already watch, but your silly expressions are amusing and funny. Maybe get more subscribers this way? It certain can't hurt the channel.
Jaws is back! That is what I'm talcum power, baby! Wooo!
Omg! This review summed up my every thought regarding this super stupid movie! I absolutely loved your review!!!!!
I enjoyed this roast but I hope all the Patreon reviews aren’t going to be roasts from now on. Who decides? The sponsor or Adam? What if someone asks for a roast but Adam likes the film or vice versa?!
Thanks! As far as the Patreon question... Yes and No is the answer.
Mithrill members can select from an ever-growing list of movies for me to roast and they can also suggest more to add. If they want to request a movie for me to review, they will need to be on the highest tier now (Unobtanium). I didn't realize when I started this service, that people would request so many obscure and long films for me to cover. It's just way too much work on my end and those videos actually hurt my channel. As far as the roast topic, there are some currently on the list that I do like but know they are easy to make fun of so I added them.
@@AdamDoesMovies I paid in advance for a year at Mithril tier precisely *because* you promised to review any four films of my choice (and I’m sure many others did likewise). I haven’t yet had my first suggestion reviewed, so I’m a bit worried that you are now referring to a limited list, and roasting every suggestion. One of the reasons I watch your channel is for fair and balanced reviews. Everyone has their own opinion of “obscure” but personally I think that anything which could be found in a film encyclopaedia, has been broadcast on TV, or reviewed by others on UA-cam (maybe excepting RLM) should not qualify as “obscure”. Maybe some members requested truly obscure films which fall outside those parameters - I don’t know. All the best.
Well I appreciate the support but I did make it clear when I started the Mithril membership that it could be a limited situation since I didn't know exactly how many would sign up and how much work it would take. Currently, I have 14 movies requests that I'm playing catchup on. They are all at least 2 1/2 hours in length (some are foreign) and each of them take 7+ hours to do.
That said, you paid for a year and that entitles you to 4 reviews. I'm not sure what your name is on Patreon so if you want to remind me what your review is, I can let you know where it's at on my list. I've been asking supporters if they wouldn't mind requesting roasts going forward BUT since you are a legacy Patreon and you paid up front, I will of course stand by the original deal.
Last thing, if the movie is obscure or relatively unknown/unpopular, the videos will be exclusively reviewed for Patreon/UA-cam Join members. This is for the health of my channel. Whenever I do a review of a lesser known flick, my viewer retention drops, the views are terrible and I lose subscribers. These all affect my standing on UA-cam.
Sorry for the long reply, I've tried to be open/honest about what is working and what isn't on my channel. I am trying to make everyone happy but at the end of the day, Patreon is supposed to be a tool to help my channel. Anyways, send me your video request and I'll see where it is currently at in the lineup. Thanks!
Haven't seen it looking forward to the laughs
I only saw original and part 2. Both great movies!! No desire to sit through 3 and Revenge. 🙄
This was great hahaha
Look up Richard Jeni’s bit about this on here. You’re welcome.
😅😅😅😅 omg the shark animation
REVIEW JAWS 3D
😂😂😂😂😂😂Hiiii omg
The little girl was murdered by her father after the film released he probably hated her performance 😂
jaws 2 should have been the end
When asked about this film, Michael Caine: "I have not seen it. But I saw the house it built and it's beautiful."
The house it built for his mother
That’s a great line.
