An 071 pulling 6/7 cravens followed by a more powerful Intercity 201 class pulling just 4😂 you even used to have full MkIV’s running commuter services from Heuston to Portlaoise and vice versa for a while around that time, I have no idea why. I remember catching them frequently in the evening time.

Portarlington is on the line from Dublin to Cork, and is the location where the line to Galway branches off. A reasonably busy spot.
Any ideas why the NIR was running around the MKIIIs in Portarlington? Stock movement or a special??
