@@oplina9166 So am I, very much. I have a bunch of photos from a show I went to in Stuttgart, DE in 2002 in this old WWII bunker. The place was called De Rohre. I sat on the end of the stage and took pics with the first real digital camera I ever had. It was before cell phones and I was hooked. IAMX is Chris.

More like 21 years, performance was 2003. Rio was released in 1982. But Simon still keeps his voice to this day.
I love how Chris is enjoying the performance. just staying relaxed, sipping champagne and smiling while singing. so cool.
I love this version. I love how it is slow and sounds darker and more depraved than the original. The Duran Duran version is all nice and polished and pretty. This is gritty and dirty and sort of makes me feel like I want to shower, but it leaves me satisfied and with no regrets. It's like a hot musical tryst in a seedy motel room.

Original version was more depraved, because it fools the superficial into thinking it's pretty. This version is more obvious. The young guy is talented, but Nick and Simon did it better in the original.

This song haunts you like no other. It lingers like an echo and you feel it no matter who sings it. Quality performance.
the harmonizing is incredible... that Simon is so genuine and is stepping out into a new territory. They compliment each other. Very intense

This is my #1 favorite DD song of all time, and these guys look like they either just had a GREAT time, or are about to. They look totally wasted. Chris's version definitely pays respect to this classic song, he does a great job singing it. Bravo.

The thing that makes Chris singing this so good is he’s the type of human to really mean it. It’s believable from him
"The Chauffeur" is just one of those songs for me that just..... hits this little private spot in the back of my head, where no one but is allowed to be, and it just makes like a crazy endorphin realease from the space there, it's just an insane moment of audio bliss.
Chris is pure sex and intensity and Simon is just SO cool and relaxed! :-D Especially when playing the ocarina...

Chris and Simon are BOTH great vocalist ! ...This is my favorite Duran Duran song ever and Chris did a wonderful job signing this with Simon..Even though they are both smashed in this clip...haha!

Chris Corners live vocals are amazing on this track and suit it perfectly. I have to say that I never thought anyone could rise above Simon for what for me is the best track on the DD Rio album. Many have tried to cover The Chauffeur and many have failed... except the Sneaker Pimps, this live version is even better than their studio cover in my opinion. I had never heard of them until I came across them while looking for versions of The Chauffeur. Thanks for uploading!

If you like Chris corners voice.. maybe Have a listen to some of chris corners ( Iamx ) songs ...triggers ,happiness , dead in this house(used in the series how to get away with murder) amongst many others of theirs... extremely talented and underrated in my opinion. Xxx

It's great to see Simon sing his harmony part as he probably did during the original recording of this song while having Chris Corner sing the melody. I've learned through reading that Simon is a master at harmonizing with himself on the Duran Duran recordings. I think that this collaboration is certainly well done!

It's interesting you would say that. I feel similarly, if not precisely the same. It feels like some of the sex and darkness was lost as the years have gone past, and been replaced with a different flavor of darkness. It's more existential dread and cleansing now.
One of greatest songs of all time with backing vocals with the original singer. He knew it something special and good. I remember coming down from MDMA on a boardwalk at 5 am listening to this song. It was one the most beautiful experiences in my life.

been a fan of DD since i was a kid and this is one of my all time favorite songs. even before i became a fan of IAMX, i loved the sneaker pimps cover of this song. this version is just incredible - absolute perfection.
Duran Duran was my first favorite band. the Chauffer remains one of my favorite songs EVER, Sneaker Pimps/Chris Corner/IAMX is one of my favorite new artists. This version and these two kick ass. Two very different versions, both awesome.

Just a comment on all of the people speculating about Simon being drunk or sedated. I've seen him @ times when he gets in this really quiet serene mood and he does get quiet. He has not been drunk or anything during those times. That is not to say it is not possible here, but it does not mean he IS drunk or sedated either. He is sometimes just in a sort of zone. Since this is not a DD show where he would be all pumped up to perform a whole show, he simply may have been feeling chill.
