- Learn how to create this liquid/melting/distorted text effect in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop CC 2020. This is a very basic graphic design tutorial that anyone can follow. All that you'll need to do is create the text in Illustrator using the "Blend Tool" and distort it later in Photoshop using the "Liquify" tool.

Why are mine not blending when I click on them after doing specified steps?
You have to have the blend tool selected for this to work.
Had the same problem here. I found it after two days lol. First select your text then go to "Text" and click "Create outlines". After that u can use the blending tool I hope ;)
Its ctr+shift o to create outlines
Also you have to ctr copy then click on the image
Shift R to edit ai
how did you create the background for the thumbnail? looks very clean

The part I can't understand is how you manage to do it without outlining the text first during the use of blend. I have to outline the text.
I wish I could do it whitout outline the text to change the wording.

After the 2:05 mark you should have went into detail all the other tools you used to blend everything better. had to watch it in 0.25x speed to catch all the other tool that make the big difference's. Still amazing video.

when i try to use the blend tool at 1:05, it seems the blent tool cursor just clicks through the text and nothing ends up happening???

So you guys need to make three of the text and select all of it using "direct selection tool", after that go to "Type" and select "create outlines". You guys could move the words using the "direct selection tool" and move it to your liking. Once you're there click the "blend tool" and choose specified steps and enter any number you want and then click the words.

whenever I copy and paste from illustrator to photoshop, do the blend in photoshop as instructed, and copy and paste the newer version back to illustrator. The logo I was working on becomes very pixelated and loses its quality. Is there any advice on this, am I doing something wrong?

select all of your 3 texts then click on "type", "create outlines" (shift+cmd+O) then you can blend
have you found a way to create an outline for the letters so they pop more?
If you bring it into photpshop is it no longer a vector?
Can you take your work you did in photoshop back into illustrator and it still be vector?

For some reason, I can't click on any of my texts while using the blending tool. I have the three text boxes highlighted just as the video, however after I click on "w" to use the tool and try to click on the texts, nothing happens. I double checked that it is in the right blending settings, but still not working... Does anybody happen to know what I am doing wrong?
