  • Writers really like doing this thing where we make stuff up in our heads and then feel like it’s real. But what IS that, exactly - why do we do it, and why does it sometimes make writing harder, instead of easier?!
This video tries to explain it and offer some tips on working with your imagination...by talking a bit about HARRIET THE SPY.
(HARRIET THE SPY is a young-adult novel by Louise Fitzhugh, published in 1964. I highly recommend it. Not the movies or series made from it: the book itself.)
