    should of torched each piece of the pop cans b4 assembly, they contain a plastic coating on them.(or soaked them in a paint thinner or nail polish remover/thoroughly scrubbed with them, and then washed with hot soap and water)

    How to make cotton candy I seen someone else do it a lot easier than what you've done there but your cotton candy is much cleaner the person I've seen do it with two CD discs and a box fan and all symbols with a box over top of it cooking up a syrup pouring it on to the CD as it's spinning making the cotton candy your machine came out a lot cleaner and the color was amazing sincerely Elvis Aaron Presley mark. That's the Way It Is man

    the holes should have been drilled in the lateral wall, not in the upper lip. and connect the motor to a 9v DC supplier, not a battery. and you could have used a second big bowl glued upside down on the first big bowl but only the 5 cm lip. This way all the candy cotton will stay inside the bowl. put a 12v slightly bigger motor and you'll need the burner no more. This is how I would have done it...

    Great video, my only thought, don't soda cans generally have a thin plastic lining on the inside? Worried about eating melted plastic with the cotton candy unless it is cleaned out beforehand

    • @-BananaLollipop-
      @-BananaLollipop- 8 років тому

      That's usually tin cans, so they don't rust inside when food is put in them.
      Soda cans don't rust because they're aluminium, therefore they don't have/need any lining (at least none of the ones I've seen/heard of).

    • @madscientistshusta

      dewolen I thought they add ethyl maltose to the sugar (it looks n feels like sugar but tastes like cotton candy) to the sugar for better flavor

    Hello Fixitsamo! I made your machine, but I think my motor goes too fast or the gas is too hot. I get more melted sugar in the bowl than cotton. I did get cotton but only a little. More when I cut the machine off it made some. Any ideas?

    This is really creative, but harmful if you ingest the cotton candy, the inside of the can is coated with a plastic like film to stop the can from rusting on the inside when it has the soda/beer? in it, similar to a juice box, i would recommend melting the inside of the cans first before hand because you wouldn't really want your kids swallowing the plastic now would you?
    not being negative just trying to keep people safe :)

    • @ashibilev

      aluminium doesnt rust bro

    • @bensullivan420
      @bensullivan420 8 років тому +1

      +Aleks Shibilev aluminium does rust, just you cannot see it, aluminum oxide is a colorless compound. Furthermore, rusting is not the problem, the problem is other reactions that will happen between ingredients in the drink and the can, known as corrosion, such as the reaction of aluminium and the phosphoric acid in the drink, turning the aluminium into aluminium phosphate, corroding through the can.

    That shows you how much hot air is in cotton candy.... It's a rip off!
    P.S. To those who care... You could put a large coil of wire around the spinner cup & connect it to a variable fin capacitor in series with an isolation transformer to inductively heat the sugar with wall current instead of propane if you wanted.

      ymmm no, the sugar melted in pot have a little bit of other taste, collor and structure, then that make like in normal cotton candy machine.
      Also is easier to make cotton candy this way, and dont bother with melting the sugar properly.

      +Steve Obee I simply made a hole in the bottom and placed the torch
      This way its very easy to remove the torch at any moment specially for cleaning

    It will not poison me? Have you eat it? It is safe to it from heating aluminium can?

    • @K31TH3R
      @K31TH3R 8 років тому

      If you're sure the container you're using is 100% aluminum you're safe up to ~2,500C. Unless you're heating the aluminum with an oxy acetylene torch, the sugar itself will be the only thing hazardous to your dietary health.

      sugar ins´t very healty but it won t kill you if you moderate it

    • @doublebubleguy12

      Technically sugar is healthy as its needed in a healthy diet but its similar to sodium in that the foods we eat have so much of it already that any excess is consider unhealthy and is why its looked down upon as unhealthy.

      SpydreX Official Sorry friend, it's not. Anyone who has told you that cares nothing for your health or state of mind, they care only that you consume and purchase the product. Sugar is a toxin, and a neurotoxin, and the insulin your body produces to neutralize it is *also* a toxin. It damages nearly every single metabolic function of your body over time, including your mental acuity. Fructose from fruit is fine only because your body burns most of the excess fructose to breakdown their high fiber content. Eating raw sugar is equivalent to smoking methamphetamine and is even more addicting than cocaine.
      I once thought the same things, and when I delved into the molecular and chemical science behind it I couldn't remain in denial. We are being poisoned by the food industry, and there are some extremely sick and powerful people who are orchestrating it.
      Yes, the truth is pretty shitty, but if you want to know the reality, you can start here: authoritynutrition.com/how-much-sugar-per-day/
      And yeah, I'm not fun at parties.
