Really excited to see Phrozen get into the FDM realm!
so are we, the one at formnext was a Alpha prototype and they have a hell of a journey to get to production but from what we say i really liked it
That Klein bottle getting a thumbs-up from the Honey Badger is a huge plus. That's not a basic item to print, at all. I have no doubt this will be a top-shelf product once done.
Sooooo glad I just saw this printer. I'm in the market! Love everything Phrozen does.
well we have one on the way for testing alot to try and try to put this through
Now this printer excites me
Bearing in mind what they put into their resin machines I'm excited about this one
just got me a p1s as my first 3d printer... lol def will get me more hahaha
That yellow print does not look like it was printed on that printer. the head unit does not look like it can reach the top of that? I could understand if it was 2 pieces but they way it is being presented is one piece and I do not see how it is done, Look at time mark 1:11 for example
I agree 100%. That print was made on another machine, finished and used as a place holder piece. I have huge doubts about a kickstarter from a company like Phrozen, I think they have the cash to make a new machine without crowd funding.
Im really interested in the Arco but I am terrified what it is going to cost. And I am hoping that the unit can come in a single color model where you can add the AMS later if you want
599 at the early bird price
Voron 2.4
Can someone break down for me how this would compare to a commercial model like the stratasys f370cr?
Will this printer be able to handle nylon and cf and all the others?
Thanks!
This is not an industrial class of machine, and I doubt it will print nylon but it would print alot faster than the stratsys and probably produce higher quality prints, but as yet we haven't get our machine to test so any advice we can give is limited at this stage
i so want to place a a depo on it. But i have no clue what materials or heated chamber info
There won't be a heated chamber, and to be honest I doubt it will print nylon as a result
What's about this nearly fdm printer face to the Bambu Labx Carbon X1, whick also purpose 4 colors system ?
so this will go up against our X1C to see how it stacks up, this is more in line with the design of a Voron 2.4 than the bambu, remember Bambu didn't invent Corexy they just made a great version of one
K1 was supposed to be the best new thing. It's been unreliable, and expensive. 5 hot end replacements. They come up with a "better" version every month. Fuck Creality. I want one of these phrozen boxes
Do know if the 600 Layers/h are real this time? The old version of the Mega was advertised with 70mm/h but noone (not even the Phrozen support) could tell me how you can achieved that. So i assume that was fake advertisement.
so we dont have one in the studio yet to say if that is real, i know people have printed quite quick but there are alot of factors, not least or which are layer height and resin type, fingers crossed we should be getting one so we will put it through its paces then
@@Honeybadger3Dprintandpaint yeah sure it's depends on a lot of factors, but they couldn't tell me these with the Mega 8K back then. I've tried a lot to maximize the speed, but couldn't even get to half the speed of 70mm/h. Even with no curetime, lowest lift distance, fastest lift speed and absolutely no wait times it wasn't possible. Since then i'm very skeptical what phrozens marketing says...
Yeah really cleaver design choices. I wonder where I have seen this before. It feels like this was done like 3-4 years ago 🤷♂️
I do hope the Mimi unit works great. It would open up multi material for every klipper printer.
the one at formnext was a Alpha prototype and they have a hell of a journey to get to production, but from what we saw i really liked it, your not wrong that the design isnt breaking new ground but with a high flow hotend and a MMU i could still compete at a high level
Dang yea, like when someone copied an open source printer design and then decided to lock everything to their own ecosystem and threaten to sue anyone who made a printer that operated similarly to that design ...
Does it print nylon without upgrades?
So we got really limited info at the show, there is a Facebook group that is run by phrozen around the launch of the kickstarter
Sounds unlikely
@@Honeybadger3Dprintandpaint I just got a reply from them. The stock nozzle isn't rated for nylon, but they are gonna release a nozzle set that can print nylon.
Interesting, I would challenge there will be other issues, the filament system has dessicant but is not actually a filament dryer and nylon will draw moisture in very easily, it won't have a heated chamber and nylon is a sod for warping, also not seen the bed material properly so hard to say how that will hold up to nylon as well, alot of unknowns about this printer until we get hands on with it
The kickstarter just launched, and they kept one thing pretty quiet until I questioned it in the comments. You have to respool your filament onto their propriatary weighted spools, standard spools arent compatible. What an incredibly stupid move.
i dont think thats right, it might be needed if you want certain features like the QR codes for bambu filament but im 90% sure they are compatible with any spool, ive seen videos of it printing with elegoo and esun filament on native spools
How much will it cost
So it's $699 is just the printer then there are enclosure upgrades and an ams upgrade there is a Facebook group run by phrozen that covers more detail around the kickstarter launch
Lol .... so fake!
The Yellow example print is bigger then the print area ..... This gonna be the new Kokoni? :)
the mega 8ks (the yellow one) is the same build volume as the mega 8k which Phrozen already ready make and ship with a reduced Z height, and people already have the Mega 8ks, phrozen have released alot of products over the last 5 years and never failed to deliver a machine
You state in your video its an example print ...... So you suggest its printed on that printer. They did the same on the booth as i was there 😂
so they did say it was printed on the Arco (they didn't say specifically the machine that was there) the single extrusion print was comparable to what i get from my Bambu i will say the multi colour print had some issues for sure but we were limited in what we could cover at the show
Don't show any video of the devices printing.
we were not allowed to film that and it wasnt printing at the show
@@Honeybadger3Dprintandpaint My point exactly.
Your camera man sucks! No focus, not following what is happening, doesn’t even have the right frame set up.
So we are not a professional channel this is only the second show we have ever been too and we are learning as we go, hopefully our next show will be better as we continue to develop
