Every single one of this album’s songs has that strange vibe where there isn’t necessarily something wrong, but you feel uncomfortable because deep down you KNOW something’s wrong
There's a story to the album. There's a couple theory's but i think i gotta good one. There's this guys who go's on a cruise ship and meets this girl (isle unto thyself is the guy meeting the girl and black rainbows is the girl meeting the guy.) They then go on to dance at a fancy ball ( White Ball) . Afterwards the guy can't find the girl so he looks around but something happened to her. She was murdered. (Murders) I don't know what the song after murders is about. Maybe the girls ascent into the afterlife? idk. Anyways, in mind electric, the guy is sent to trial for killing the girl but he didn't do it. He tries to lie and say that he was just insane when he "killed" her. So they send him to Shock thereapy. After a long time of shock therapy he ACTUALLy goes insane. idk what the song Labyrinth is about either. The guys finds a time machine (Time Machine) and he tries to use it to go back and save the girl. But when he goes back he's not on the cruise. So he makes his own boat and sails to find the cruise but gets lost (Stranded Lullaby) Then he starts going insane on his boat and somehow dies. I don't know how he dies but i have a theory where he get lured in by these mermaid that end up killing him. or maybe that was just what he thought happened because he was insane.
@@blooberry48 thanks for sharing your theory! I think I can help fill in some of the gaps: Labyrinth should be about the aftermath of the shock therapy, where he feels trapped inside his own mind (there’s even the same theme as The mind Electric in the background); I agree with you about the mermaids, because of what transpires in Dream Sweet in Sea Major, and also because the music ends abruptly, hinting at a less than peaceful death. I’m not sure about this because I read it somewhere else, but it’s possible that the killer in murders is himself from the future (although after he goes insane the timeline and the events get a bit strange, so it’s possible that he just blames himself for the girl’s death and I’m over reading)
@@koi552 I… I can only assume you’re either very young, or not a native English speaker, because Romeo and Juliet is the most well known romantic tragedy in the west.
'white ball' and 'as the world caves in' feel like two sides to the same story. in as the world caves in, the world is ending and two lovers (or family members/friends/etc) are confessing their love to one another, platonic, familial, or romantic. choose your pick. in the line "oh, its you that i lie with as the world caves in,' it implies that they'd be with no one other than them as the world is ending in front of them. this can also be seen in white ball. whereas 'as the world caves in' is about the realization that the world is ending and there's nothing they can do about it, 'white ball' is about making the most of their last moments together. the two of them are shown dancing despite their impending doom. such examples can be seen as 'taking passionate steps,' which implies that they're dancing. in their last moments nothing matters but the other person. 'such impossible bliss,' they repeat, because they are with their most beloved. two stories that are so similar yet so different. i cant help but compare them
nice interpretation, generally the statement of the song being "their last moments together" is correct, the white ball is a different story to what you're telling (they actually don't know what's about to end), but I do see how the two songs fit what you're imagining.
I interpret this song as a man who’s lover died before they could get married he is dreaming of their dance at their wedding “Such impossible bliss” being repeated is the dream slowly ending, and the man waking up
I imagine it as that too but like it's him planning life with this woman, and it starts with their wedding, then honeymoon, pregnancy, their raising the child, and the part where they say taking delicate steps the kid is taking it's first steps, but once they start to say such impossible bliss it starts fading to them walking into a Forest together hand in hand.
i've sincerely considered this being the song at my eventual wedding for my partner and i's first dance together...but considering the context of it in the album i have to wonder if that'd be right to do or not lmao it's just such a gorgeous song and definitely makes me think of my partner and how much joy she brings me. i'm definitely taking it at face value with this interpretation but god it just gets me right in the feels
1:53 the violin in this part always gives me an eerie vibe (and i love it) (Taking in account of the story) The vocals are so peaceful and just y'know, happy ig, but the ominous violin makes it feel a bit uncomfy. Uncomfy as in "It wont be like this for to long, prepare for some wild shit" (basically the lore of the album right after this song) Anyway, White Ball never fails to make md cry, especially when Murders plays after ;-;
Ayo!! I actually got that very idea yesterday! I'm only a novice artist and I'll be getting my first drawing tablet for Christmas but someday in the future I really *really* wanna make a professional music video for White Ball and Murders. But who knows, maybe someone else will have already made their own in that time!
I NEED to know what type of music this is, because this hits different. The type of music that mesmerizes you in some elegant twist of psychological madness, where you know the worst is to come.
I’d like think that the background video is showing a huge open window at an empty banquet hall dance floor with maybe like the singers singing and dancing together with no one else there
Am I the only one that feels like this is proceeding some sort of big tragedy? I don't know why but this song's calm demeanor just makes me so uncomfortable.
i havent listened to the full album yet but i've heard theres actually like a story being told through these songs? and considering the song after this is called "murders" maybe it was supposed to give off that sorta vibe :000
Well, maybe its because it does! The next song in the album is Murders. My theory is that: Since the headcanon everyone has for this album is about a couple, i like to think that it makes you uncomfortably confident that nothing wrong is going to happen, but you know it is gonna happen. In murders, the girl in the couple is murdered by this mysterious character, and then the protagonist's life starts going downhill (The Mind Electric and Dream Sweet in Sea Major) hope you liked my theory
@@nicoreiithe erlköng said lover. Implies that the man was the killer, as well as the person shift from he was In the forest to I was in the forest. Murders is a testimony.
because it is about unfortunate event, Simon (the husband) or a mysterious characters call as the earlking or appolon kill or tell Simon to kill the woman
the way i see it, it's supposed to dupe you into thinking ballroom but it means the white ball, or the 'moon' in the album cover, which is an anglerfish lure. and this song lures you into, yk, (impossible) bliss and in the next song disaster strikes. kind of like what would happen if you followed an anglerfish lure. that last part might be reaching a bit but i'm pretty sure the name IS referencing the album cover.
Did anyone notice the mysterious person say check it out or in the track murder when after she says Earl King, you can hear a silent voice that says lover there’s a lot more that ties these songs together than just the song itself and the question in Isle two thy self is actually a big part in this entire story
The album is a story about schizophrenic man who meets us true love, kills her and is then put on death row. His last moments are angelic, sincere fearful and pain, but the sweet release saves him.
Whenever I listen to this song, I think of a young couple dancing together happily in the snow, as a meteor big enough to destroy the planet heads to earth, and they're just both dancing knowing this is their final moment together because the world's ending, but they don't ever want to spend the end of the world in fear.. (sorry if this is too edgy lmao)
