how many of us on the east coast are either directly or indirectly created by Renzo? What a legacy the Mestre has left for us all. Karel Pravec was one of the OG's in NYC along w/ Serra Danaher and a few others that were American black belts and legit AF. Now we see Danaher focusing on his No Gi, all the killers down with Almeida, and/or Daniel, the Silver Fox.....it's just astounding as they are all free thinkers, artistic in nature. I'm glad I've been blessed with just the presence of some of these pioneers. Love Karel.....this should be a helluva instructional.
Yes, another Fox instructional?!! Just take my money already. I also greatly appreciate the zoom and angle from the bottom shot as I've always wanted to see this view of his grip when he applies his patented guillotine.
His is grip actually PALM UP? aka supinated vs the regular thumb side up version? I know it explains it in the video but it is still hard to see. It is definitely shallow. Where the trachea is at the bend of the wrist.
Silver Fox has a good point about which leg to go forward. What if you punch with more power in the right hand so you stand orthodox, but you are not strong with the left hand Guillotine? Should the person then practice BJJ with Right hand forward even though he normally would stand with left hand forward?
Usually people’s power hand/leg is in the back. So if their right hand/leg are strongest (ie they stand left leg forward), they should work to make their left arm guillotine better. I’m a rightie but stand left leg forward so my left arm guillotine is way better than my right.
Bernardo, noticed his support arm and hand is low. A lot of g chokes recommend the high elbow. Is there any advantage or disadvantage for the high elbow?
Yes, I address these issues in the instructional - High Elbow is extremely effective. The benefit is the high degree of choking power, the negative is that arm needs to be deep and somewhat compromised position of the wrists for those whose wrists don’t have a lot of flexibility.
in the video he made with firas, his grip was really deep like a rnc, but here his grip is supper shallow! i'm not interested in learning this trachea crushing type guillotine. i want my guillotine to be a blood choke that would put someone to sleep, not just a painful hold!
Not sure where specifically in the Firas video my grip was deep. I’ve been using the shallow grip for my “bread & butter” guillotine (there are some variations that are deeper eg 5 finger guillotine) for at least 15 years. This one is not a trachea crush it is a constriction (fat part of thumb goes on one carotid, forearm on the other carotid, ergo the miniature RNC grip analogy). This has put people to sleep.
I saw the word Guillotine and I saw that wrist. I knew immediately it was the Silver Fox. Can't wait to watch!
Probably the most underrated teacher and technician out there in my opinion

Thank you & yeah it’s amazing what Renzo created.
The communities trachea’s are not ready for this dvd

If any questions, I will address on ROLL with The FOX
Amazing
Long live Mr.Silver Fox!!! Thanks Bernardo for bringing more of this legend.
I'm so glad to see Karev here. He is one of my favorites and his guillotines are amazing!👏👏👏😀
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Dustin Poirier taking notes after his Khabib fight.
Love the little details. You've seen it a thousand times but once it's explained it's sooooo much clearer.
You’ve struck gold with this video
He’s the best
Watched this with the auto generated subtitles on... Chiropractor Silver Fox😂😂😂 Totally nailed it this time!
🦊🤣
So simple yet… complex. Love the guillotine.
Silverfox is such a legend
Thank you!
I used to just transition into a back take or something else. Now I hunt for head control. These guillotine takes are game changers.
Yes, really good. Another dimension of attacks.
Love the "Silver Fox" that video he did with Firas improved my Guillotine
Glad to hear that!
You guys are awesome!
True legend
Great video!
Man...Renzo Gracie’s school produces some of the most badass Jiu Jitsu guys out there
Yes, Renzo has produced a lot of amazing grapplers & teachers.
Imagine finishing a fight with that🤯
It’s a really good finish but also strong top control so you can always transition to other attacks if need be.

Saw the white tape and saw guillotine already knew what time it was lol Silver fox!!
Very nice!!,, thx!!

So in short, it’s easier to work on improving the proper side guillotine than rewire their standup game or have a guillotine they will rarely use.
@@SilverFoxBJJ Ah. Thank you!
@@SilverFoxBJJ Perfect phrasing! Thanks, Silver Fox :-)
Any idea when the instructional will be released? I’m 100% buying this.
I appreciate that. Shot it 3 weeks ago & needs little to no editing so should be out this or next week.
Just came out:

SF is the man
One criticism: We never got a good look on his hand grip although I think he shows it in other videos
3:45 You must of mist it.
Ninja Guillotine
The Guillotine Master!! Silver Fox.
He's on the wrong side of the choke to apply pressure with his shoulder for a von flue type choke, was that a trick question?
Cmon Bernardo..... what is that single leg shot?
He snap Bernardo head...
Bernie has a muppet character voice.

kul...
Silverfox can be multi division champ till 155 lbs atleast ❤️
Might be good for a comp but it looks like you could get slammed pretty bad doing this in a different context.
Ji
I still don't quite "get" guillotines
