Dossain Soares Well, the only reason the Coaster would deadhead is if there isn't a Coaster set in San Diego to serve as a Northbound. As seen in my video, the deadhead was to serve as the Northbound Coaster #699, or "Padres Train".
Between 2013 and 2018, Amtrak added supplemental stops at all Coaster stations for increased options to riders. These stops however were discontinued by 2018 due to low ridership, and adjustments were made to better suit ridership demands along the Surfline.

More Amtrak’s should stop there and Encinitas. In 2019, none stop there at ALL!
