  • (27 Apr 2016) A police convoy believed to be carrying Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam arrived on Wednesday at Fleury Merogis Prison, in the southern suburbs of Paris.
It was the second convoy that left the Palace of Justice in Paris earlier that afternoon.
Abdeslam appeared briefly in front of an investigative judge earlier in the day at the court.
His lawyer, Frank Berton, said preliminary charges of terrorist murders and possession and use of bombs and weapons were filed against the 26-year-old.
Abdeslam - Europe's most wanted fugitive until his capture in Belgium last month - was returned to France on Wednesday to face justice and is willing to cooperate, his lawyer said.
Abdeslam is the last known survivor of those believed to have carried out the November 13 Paris attacks that claimed 130 lives at restaurants, a noted music hall and a sports stadium outside the city.
