Now @ 62, I'm reworking my jeans again.
The way you make low-rise (*hip~huggers) with a higher rise.. I will be doing that as well. Thank you for taking the time to make and post this video.

I used to do this when I was a teenager back in the 70's (but on the outside of the jeans) and I'm about to do it again.....not in a hurry to grow old yet.

That looks so good! I used to have a sewing machine that I threw away because I don’t know how to use it. This video makes me want to get a new one. Any recommendations? I used to have bell bottom pants that I fabric glued together and it worked well, but these are way cooler.
Thanks sooo much! Im glad i could inspire you to get started sewing again!! Oh noo dont throw away your sewing machine!! But for starters usually regular brother or singer home sewing machine is great to start out with. You can still do so many things with it. The fabric glue method would still work great u are right!
Get a brother from Walmart will work just fine good machines for tasks like this!

To easily distress denim use a wire brush and goes really quick and a lot faster than doing it by hand. But make sure to do it on a surface so you don't care about because it will scratch the table

Nice ideas. Have you tried a “Jeans” sewing needle for your machine or size 16 or 18 to help stop the breaking of needles?
Yes denim needles are a good tool i use alot of the time now when sewing denim. It does help.

is it better for the extra triangle piece to go on the inside of each pant leg or could I sew them on the outer side? looks great btw!!
You could sew on either side! Its up to you! The reference photo i used had it on the inside so thats what I chose.

@@BrentHutchinson1 5/8th rule when adding seam allowance to sew. Your seam allowance can be whatever you prefer. I didnt use a set seam allowance sewing them together, i just made sure there was enough on both the dark and light fabric for the seam to stay and not come apart!
