This is the beauty of India. Where a muslim celebrates a Hindu festival and Hindu celebrates a Muslim festival. With joy, love and no hatred. I wish the media (specially the Western media) showed this instead of showing only the differences (that too in a wrong way).
Anyway, happy 'Ganesh Chaturthi' guys. Yes, that's the name of the festival.
Best Comment Ever!!! Yes we Indians are different but we love this fact and celebrate it !!! Western media just cannot understand that we are United in our diversity.🙏
no only hindus, Buddhist and sikhs celebrate others festivals and in some occasions Christians too but Muslims having haram to celebrate others festivals
Not muslims .
@@indiaviralshorts1 I have seen Muslims celebrating Ganesh chaturtee , Diwali ,holi and other festivals too I
The ganesha statue is made of bio degradable substances , clay and strays and bamboos. Even Durga , the "8 armed"(it's actually 10) goddess is made of bio degradable substances.
The festival is called GANESH CHATURTHI, Chaturthi means 4th day of lunar month.
Guys you should know that although we love the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi there are a lot of environmental issues associated with it as the large statues made of PoP pollute our oceans which results in broken statues on the beach and dead fish for the next few days. It's a nightmare to look at the state of the beaches the next day, you should look it up. Although some people are now moving to eco-friendly options, the change is not fast enough and majority of the statues are still made from harmful substances like PoP and oil based colors.
Are you sure they all are bio degradable? I believe majority are made of plaster of paris still as they are cheaper than clay. qz.com/india/1386793/mumbais-ganesh-chaturthi-eco-friendly-idols-dont-come-cheap/ Its okay to be proud Indian but lets not turn blind eye to everything.
For putting it in water is , the gods idol is made of clay and 10 days the country celebrate the festival like anything, everywhere ganesha will be there , at the end they put it in water then clay will dissolve in water , for humans to know that god is our creation , human also when they die they will become soil only
Goddess Durga is 10 armed Goddess
@@pritambiswas1000 yeah buddy , since Rick made the comment , I just used the same to reply
Ganesha idol strcuture is made from hay( dried grass) and clay. When immersed it does not stay for long.
Ganpati bappa morya
a) The idols are made of clay and therefore sediments onto the seabed....hence eco friendly.
b) The idols are not 'dumped'. They're immersed. It's bidding farewell to God.
Okay upfront I’m not Indian, I’m dutch. Looks like a great festival. What I dislike is the they sent some foreign reporter that has no idea what’s going on. You can clearly tell that he didn’t do much research and there is no genuine interest. He just wants to have an “exotic” cover. I would have preferred if they took an local reporter that knows the festival and guides the viewer and explain what is the significance and stuff.

U r 100% correct
@@rushikeshsable6215 very true!!
Thankyou so much for reacting on this.. this is one of my favourite festivals and I eagerly wait for this festival every year...❤❤ proud to be indian🇮🇳
I am fan of this festival. We do immerse the statue into the ocean and no, we don't bring it back. The statues, the big ones, are made from Plaster of Paris and painted with oil paint. Because clay statue is heavier and difficult to make and carry and paint doesn't hold on to it. This surely has effect on ocean afterwards I m not denying that. I might get burned by the people reading this comment but I must write what I feel. It pains to see how this started as beautiful tradition to unite people against the British rule but now we have made it something different. But nowadays picture is changing too and so many people have been trying not to harm the environment. Many people keep the same idol for years. Some bring clay idols, or idols made with paper also there are so many other biodegradable options they use. I personally use clay idol of less than 1 feet height in my house and we immerse it inside our house in a barrel or tub and we pour that water to the trees. We have been doing this for last 20 years and it is really helpful. I urge everyone reading this comment to use the favourable option to them which will cause less harm to the environment. Ganesh is a God of arts and intelligence so let's show some intelligence while celebrating his birthday! Happy Ganesh Chaturthi.... Ganpati Bappa Morya! 🙏🙏🙏
It does harm the environment, the surrounding beach area. But it's nothing compared to the pollution made by plastics dumped into the ocean per day.
Its a big problem when they dump the statues in rivers and lakes. That does have a serious impact on the aqua life and the quality of potable water.
Ocean can handle it but local sea life would certainly get damaged and it'll have impact till next few days.
License system should be introduced by the govt. that is followed without bribes😜
I agree.look what we did to gana river
Shadu ganpati murti is the best 🙏 but it's getting harder to trust artists these days, they claim it's free of POP bt one of our Murti didn't dissolve and it was really painful. We now make our murti, it may not be artistic but it sure grows a tree later. Ganpati Bappa morya.
Couldn't agree more...

Wonder how Ganpati in Mumbai and Durga Puja in Kolkata would be like this year in this Corona Situation. Man I miss the festivals. It's so depressing specially for Indians in this Quarantine.
Me too. 😭😭
Doesn't matter.We still celebrate it.
Beautifull country, lovely festivals love u india n hindunism, 😍😍😍from indonesia
Ganesha festival is celebrated throughout india.
Irrespective of religion people celebrate for the wellbeing of humanity.
Happy ganesha chaturti guys.
Biodegradable statues for info....and now we have started putting sead in every statue so that it helps in contributing the nature increase the forestation
That's awesome.
Don't be naive .. Only a very few people do Biodegradable and reusable. This is a environmental nightmare now. With people all over city pouring in money to make Thier statue the best ..Its a political and status ego war..With sea and lakes paying the price.
rahul menon when there is some effort try an appreciate that....at least they have started it something which will help a little ......govt have already ordered only to use biodegradable statues and now they are putting seeds in it....seas will get polluted still ...there is an effort to lessen that and maintain some balance where people get to celebrate their festival and some initiative for protecting the environment as well...these are not going to stop and no one in the world can ...when anything harmful or wrong is done in the name of religion it's almost impossible to stop that....so better appreciate they are doing something....at least few people are doing it...
Agreed Highlighting Few and started. Exactly what I am saying. But when we state that 'we use bi degradable' we are selling a lie.
They dont know whats happening now and whats changing and whats not.
Why only propogate good false things. Say what is true and thats it.
rahul menon this is land where everything is viewed with religious point of view everything is sentimental ....people won't do it.. people don't agree to the general truth ..I said that bcz it's some initiative better than nothing....we don't know how much control or check goes into that....but we can't help that...at least they say it we will use biodegradable like they say it they have banned plastic in up...but it isn't....bcz they just say it...we can question that to some extent...but a positive thing has to be believed and more focused on....there is already loads of negativity floating around the country...may be with this positivity people might get aware and might go looking for biodegradable statues may be....there may be 1% like that....but that's what all we have
I'm an Indian I'm an Hindu I'm so proud
The Ganesh idols are made of clay hence when immersed in the ocean it dilutes and melts and mixes in the water.
Ganesh statue or any other god statue is made from soil and wheat plant..so it dissolve in water
95 percent of all Ganesha idols are POP. All I mean all of those big ones are POP. The guy who made this video should head to these beaches for next two days and you will see the impact of this pollution.
the colors on the statues are toxic imo
@@rahulksmenon meaning of pop?
@@manasrockstar5316 Plaster of Paris
@@rahulksmenon Those idols are usually removed and dumped in landfills.
Don't know why no one commented on how this festival was started.. 🤷🏻♂️
People have been praying to Lord Ganesha since ages, but within their homes. But freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tialk, also known as Lokmanya Tilak, (Lokmanya literally translates to "being listened to by the people") started a public celebration of the festival (during the British rule) to bring community gatherings and celebrate unity amongst people!
The real reason why it is so popular today, this festival brought us together when we most needed it.

Hi Korbin, Rick, Alexis & Micah. I live in Michigan. We do celebrate Ganesh chaturthi ( festival) here in States. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi folks!
Just in case if you guys are interested to know. These Ganesha idols are made environmental friendly as per laws. Normally, they are made from clay, wood, hays etc. Most of the time authorities and volunteers clean some remainings on the shore next morning. The name of the festival is called, "Ganesh Chaturthi". This festival is happening for hundreds of years.
React to Deva Shree Ganesha from Agneepath. It brings the actual celebration.
Come to India atleast once to feel this movement of Ganesh utsav.
Every state and every village of India celebrate the festival
The idols are made of clay. So they breakdown when immersed in water.
You know for 90's song, you can make Alexis say "Its so cheesy.".. 😅
Idols are usually made of materials that dissolve over time. We immerse the idols for Devi Durga and Ganpati Bappa as well. During Durga idol immersion, once the idol is immersed in water, there are people who swim and pick up anything worth recycling. Anything that might not dissolve in the water. The wooden structure on which clay/soil is applied to make the idol, is picked up the next day or the day after. This is what happens during Durga Puja, quite sure they’d be doing the same thing in Mumbai. Hope this clarifies 😊
Yes, those idols are made of hay, a wooden structure, clay, and colour. After immersion in water, the colour and clay will washed away. And the hay along with the wooden frame will be pulled out of water, and will be recycle.
You know when u r scuba diving.. n then see elephants every where...

Ganesha's statue is made up of clay and bio degradable paint, thus yes, it just forms the ocean floor but you can not recognise wether it was ganesha or just some chunk of clay after some weeks.
Btw that festival is called Ganesh chaturthi

After knowing what he did, he asks to bring anyone who you find first so that he can give him a new head. As an elephant was found first, he was given the head of that elephant and was brought to life again. That's why he has an elephant head.
