Ship 26 is a fuel depot. The stringers are to support wrap around solar panels. You can see this in one of the NASA renders.

I’m pretty sure that the space under the skirt of the orbiter, especially the soldering connecting it to the LOX tank, got damaged during the hot staging, the Raptors ignition are quite violent and this soldering needs protection! I don’t think they vent LOX voluntarily, the tank ruptured and more and more G’s finished it at the end of the flight, imo.

Any amount of time that can be used to increase mission success probability is a good thing. Once starship hits regular customer service missions will be a different story.

Very unlikely to cause delays. SX has dozens of spare tested engines, and they can switch out all six in less than a day.
RE-LAX! That's what starship is all about! That's why the water deluge system. Rocket takes off, rocket come back, onto the stand. Need to swap out engine 33 and 12, scissors lift up, pull them off, scissors lift up the replacement, in a few hours off you go again. No biggie!

A flight that has not been given permission to fly yet cannot be “delayed”. I don’t understand why everyone is speculating so hard when spacex is just improving things until they get word from the FAA. They’ll launch not too long after.

SpaceX is doing more interesting things faster than any other space agency, what do you mean? Of course, when they're very open about their progress and development they naturally get more reporting, that's just math.
They might not be good, but that’s based on opinion. Matt is reporting on rocket development, and I challenge you to find that much information about New Glen, Neutron, or any other new rocket.
@@tetronaut88 Scratch the "new", any rocket! There is not much happening in the space industry on a weekly basis.
Elmo just happens to be dirt rich enough to throw _basically_ infinite money at SpaceX, so they do stuff faster. Also majority of their construction happens outside. Launch pad - outside, engine stand - outside, assembly bay - open (for now), etc. Other companies either can't afford speedrunning construction, have actual buildings that conceal the rocket creation process, or are government funded, and we all know how "quick" government ran stuff is.
So yeah, don't shoot the messenger, no matter what you think about Elmo and SpaceX (even though I'd argue it is important to separate them, because he just throws money at them, and then actually talented people to the job) Matt is just telling you all the information there is _this week_ (it's almost like that's the name of the show!) which isn't a lot and mostly consists of SpaceX.
Sorry for the tangent, I've been seeing these comments since around the third episode and it is really annoying!
