      That was a Russian proton rocket. It uses INCREDIBLY toxic and carcinogenic fuels, so that failure was horrendous for the environment

    I just want to point out that the first one, a Proton rocket, steered that way because someone physically hammered three of the four guidance sensors in the rocket upside down.

      You are correct. It was a GSLV [Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle] GSAT-5P, which exploded on 2010 December 25.

    I feel bad for the crashed ones. Imagine going to see a rocket launch off into space but instead it just starts breaking, flies downward, then crashes. That’s a day ruined right there.

    That clip of the satellite at around 3 minutes, somehow really demonstrates the power of one of these rockets. You can almost see the power of the boost and thrust coming out of the rocket. Super cool

    The rocket at 7:22 was a Chinese rocket that launch and landed in a nearby rural village. The Chinese government says only 6 died, but its speculated that between 200 to 500 people died in that explosion

    Surprised the range safety officer didn't destroy the first rocket as soon as it tilted beyond 30-40'. It was clearly a lost mission at that point.

      Russia doesn’t use range safety officers so if it goes wrong it can go really wrong especially for bystanders and nearby towns.

    It would really be more interesting if you had the location on the screen. Also a Time reference of the date or year would make it a lot more relative instead of a bunch of random footage from who knows where or when. Just saying

      Even after decades of development the learning curve keep being steep. If it is like this at sea level, I can't imagine how hard must be getting a rocket to work in the vacuum of the space let's say to lift up a lunar module or so.
