Scoop out the litter box everyday for poop and pee. Completely change out the litter every 2 weeks. Wash with hot water and a mild detergent like Ivory dish soap. Replace with 2 to 3 inches of litter.

Wisdom it’s bad I know that, that’s why I did the research before training him. I only let him use it when we run out of cat litter, and he uses his litter box all the time

ok i'm just gonna say it my mum's friend has a cat and it gave birth to 5 kittens i think and she is gonna give 2 to me i mean my mum and it's for me and my little brother but there is a problem THEY ARE COMING TO STAY FOR A DAY ON THE WEEKENDS AFTER TOMORROW OR SUNDAY OR WHEN MY MUM AND MY MM'S FRIEND HAS NO WORK btw they work at the place. I have a cat. I clean his litter box twice a day. In the evening and in the morning.
Every one should clean the litter box at least once a day.
Not every two days, not once a week.
This way you will never be able to smell anything.
Use clumping litter. Any other cat litter is useless believe me.
And there is two things you can do if the pee clump sticks to the box. Either you remove the sand around the clumb by shifting the litter box so the cat litter stands not in the way and than remove the clump with tissue and this is very important, clean the surface where the clump was with a water based baby whipe tissue than dry it with tissue.
Or you shift the hole cat litter in a container. Than clean the box and put cat litter back.
First solution is the better one.
And by the way you will allways find litter aroy-und the house.
This is unfortunate by for that I havent found a solution yet.

Replace litter once a month should be fine, not every week, that is excessive! But yes, clean their feces and pee every day.

My cat seems to think it’s special and doesn’t cover its poo
He feels he is the dominant cat in the territory. Most cats accept the other “cat” (you) as the dominant one and will bury their feces from it.
Wipe your cats butt too, if left unwiped the cat will leave residue when it sits on your floor.

It does not smell because of the baking soda or the spray from Citrus Magic (Walmart) I am using right now, and it is amazing. But please, do not use both at the same time.

I know this was posted a while back, but smelly poop, whether it be cat or dog, a lot of times is caused by the food they're eating. Food quality is a big issue, but allergies/intolerance factors in too. Takes a bit of research and sometimes a lot of trial and error to find food that's actually good for pets and food they can tolerate too. idk if it's the same for cats, but fish or salmon (and grain-free) is what we settled on for 2 diff dogs to calm their stomachs and stop them from itching constantly.
Even treats! Got my dog some gravy Milkbones because he can actually tolerate the plain kind... NOPE! There was a war going on behind that butthole.

What do you do with the feces after scooping them up--in other words, where do you dispose of them???
It's ideal to dispose of them in the garbage outside of your home (the ones that the garbage man would pick up).
I throw them in the toilet
If you have dogs, feed wild birds, use salt for your water softener, etc., re-use the bags for the used litter. Any bag will suffice, but, use bags that will keep their weight. It's a great way to recycle both, and, when it's garbage day - usually one to two weeks (depending upon how many cats you have and the size of the bag!), you can put the bag in your garbage can and away it goes!
TIPS:
1. Do not make the bag too heavy - only make it as heavy as you can handle.
2. Flush your cat's toilet everyday (that's what I call cleaning the litter box!). It will keep your cat healthy, and happy!
3. NEVER flush the litter, even if it says on the box that you can. This will cause problems with your septic and it is also unsafe for the environment.

My cat urinates in the bathroom but poops in the litter box.. that's why it's dry. I keep the bathrooms door open.

If you can, but I would wait until the end of the day.
If your litter box has a foul odor then use a scented litter sand. That would be a lot easier for you to clean the litter box without struggling with the smell
Some cats are allergic to scented litter.
