Adapting it into a morris tune is just brilliant, and Eliza is a fantastic morris fiddler. It's a tiny detail, but I love the fact that at the end of the first half of the B part -- where "Dublin Bay" would be -- they go to a IV chord (C) rather than the relative minor (Em), which is what they use at that point when they're singing it, as does the original. That's right, because morris musicians tend to avoid those minor chords (probably because they're slightly challenging for beginning 2-row melodeon players).
I think the Morris tune is the one used for the Fieldtown dance "The Rose". It's a tune I've danced to before and it's Fieldtown... just not 100% confident on which Fieldtown dance.

Such a shame that it’s been ruined by changing the lyrics. This song should be left original, the way it’s meant to be !
I'm sure they didn't want to use a homophobic slur. Also they are folk musicians, and the folk tradition embellishes and changes the words all the time.

If it can’t be performed in its original format, it shouldn’t be performed at all. Purely out of respect it should be the original version, without the PC woke nonsense destroying the song. Thanks for replying, but it’s obviously something we’ll never agree on
@@DoubleZeroGarage Agree, great lyrics do not have to be politically corrected. Besides 'old slut on junk' is left untouched according to the new double standards...
