R.I.P. Dean Stockwell❤We losted a legendary actor I remember seeing him in The Secret Garden when I was a kid I grew up watching him in movies and TV series! He was in the industry for 70 years and will be surely missed! My condolences to Dean family and friends! R.I.P. Dean❤
One of the TV shows often not mentioned for him was JAG. He played the Secretary of the Navy in 11 episodes. And turned in an excellent and interesting performance. He played at somebody with a very strong will, very fair, and a bit shrewd.
I almost disliked the video because of the first douche bag getting Dean’s name wrong! Jesus, dude! Show some respect! Sorry… 😔 I never got to see Dean’s original appearance as SecNav Edward Sheffield in First Monday, but I did see all of his eleven episodes in JAG. I’d like to believe that all of his characters in Don Bellisario’s Universe- Rear Admiral (Upper Half) Al Calavicci, Sheffield and Tom Hamilton- are connected. (Hand)Linked, one might say. On a side note, I literally grew up with Dean’s film and television appearances. I saw Anchors Aweigh (1945) when I was six (1980) and will always treasure his vast career. Especially since his Child Star years were the hardest for him and he almost quit acting altogether at the age of sixteen.
More than quantum leap....as we grew up him from child to teen to adult an plus. Quiet, mysterious, dignified and eloquent on and off the screen. Well wishes to his family.
RIP Dean Stockwell. Remember Him in "To Live and Die in LA" and "The Legend of Billie Jean" 1985. Also in famous TV show "Quantum Leap". Many Other TV Shows & Movies. The Great Ones Continue Departure.
He was amazingly good in Long Days' Journey into Night, not to mention his films with David Lynch and Married to the Mob, etc. Too many gems to list. A highly skilled actor and a decent fellow, by most accounts. I'm a huge fan, and will miss him. R.I.P, Tony 'the tiger' Russo. 👍😎
Imagine having such a glorious life and the anchorman botches your name in the obituary. RIP Mr. Stockwell I hope you have a sense of humour from the great beyond.
For those of you not born in the 1940's you have a treat in that his wonderful child films are available to stream. I recently resaw "Gentlemen's Agreement", "Kim", "Down to the Sea In Ships", "Boy With Green Hair". He was a wonderful actor even as a child
I pay my respect to Dean Stockwell. I loved him in Quantum Leap. Quantum Leap was a great show. I also watched a film called Paris, Texas. He was great in that film also,
He was so great in so many different roles, large and small. Quantum Leap, of course, but will never forget him in Blue Velvet lip-synching Roy Orbison do IN DREAMS. RIP DEAN STOCKWELL.
What the hell is up with that first reporter mispronouncing Dean’s name? Rockwell…?! The man has over 250 film and television credits to his name! Show some respect!! Unfortunately Dean did not quit acting in 2015 to pursue his art career. While it’s true that Dean created multiple sculptures and collages under his full name, Robert Dean Stockwell, he stopped acting due to suffering from multiple strokes. Sadly, the last stroke he had wiped a massive chunk of his memory. But considering how painful his years as a Child Actor were for him, that might have been a blessing in disguise. Speaking of his artwork though, something else a lot of people might not know is that Dean was friends with Neil Young and worked with the Folk Singer on several projects: After The Gold Rush (1970) Dean was Neil’s inspiration for some of the songs. American Stars 'n Bars (1977) Dean designed the album cover. Human Highway (1982) Dean’s only credit as a director; which he shares with Neil, who used his pseudonym Bernard Shakey.
@@davidellis5141 haven’t seen that. Saw several of his child star movies on tv reruns, had only seen quantum leap sporadically, but got the box set. Just having a career that crosses into adulthood is something. To make it an impressive career is something else altogether
He was a great character actor all around but I really liked his portrayal of Howard Hughes in the car movie “Tucker - The Man and his Dream”. He was only in the film for a couple minutes but he really stole the show. It was also a 180 degrees from what he did on Quantum Leap.
Soooo very sad! I bought Quantum Leap on DVD last year as my “to me from me” Christmas present. I absolutely loved him as Al! I’ll always love the show. But watching it now will feel a bit melancholy. May he Rest In Peace.
Didn't realise he was that old, loved him in quantum leap obviously, in the uk I think this was how we first got to no him, and you know that if Scott bukula liked him then he was a decent guy
Jonthan there's only one way and it Jesus there is nothing else in this world Jesus paid price you cant earn must receive Jesus loves you but you need make choice cuz Jesus is coming is very near for those who have him ............
For publication I chauffeured Dean and Joy Stockwell when he was nominated for his Academy Award in ‘89. Dean was interviewed after the Awards in front of the Auditorium where he was asked, by Channel 7, “How do you feel about being rediscovered?” Dean took personal offense and laughed at the word rediscovered. He later told Joy, in the limousine back, “I never knew I was ‘undiscovered’!" Entertainment Tonight followed us from his front door, to the awards, but since he didn’t win they broke off. Cheep Shot! Funny, Joy needed a restroom along the way where I found a clean off route facility. Entertainment Tonight followed us to the building and then followed Joy up the stairs where she locked her door, put her stockings on, then came out asking them if they saw enough through the keyhole. (There was no keyhole of course, but I think it drove her point into their snoopy notebooks & cameras.) Dean and Joy were wonderful, gave me a ticket to the Board of Governor’s Ball, went to Spagos for the after party (where they introduced me to Teri Garr, Tom Cruse, Al Pacino, Frank, Sonny, and so many more), then to their home. Of the countless people I've chauffeured in my 30 years, I absolutely love this couple and their presence. I was so upset and tear filled to hear Dean passed away this year. He is a Hollywood and Film Legend. ! All my personal best and warmth to Joy (though divorced from Dean, I know she's devastated) , his daughter Sophia, and son Austin. Dean finally leaped home and his acting abilities will truly be missed. R.I.P Dean and prayers for his family.
Dean took that Quantum Leap.
R. I. P.
70 years working in the industry. Incredible. Such a recognizable face to us all. Rest In Peace, sir. 💜
Wow, this is so sad. I just found the complete set of Quantum Leap on DVD; been binge watching it. RIP.
This is heartbreaking. I really enjoyed watching Quantum Leap with my father as I grew up and he was my favorite. He'll be missed.

Dean was hilarious as Al from Quantum Leap and made the character his own in the series. R.I.P Dean, you will be remembered forever throughout time.
0:03 - Dean Rockwell? WTF! This is why I hate ABC, they get so many things wrong.
Rest in peace Al 😭
Dean Stockwell was a singular talent with some of the widest range in roles across decades of film and television.
RIP Dean Stockwell, the Universe remembers!
Yikes, that’s so sad. My condolences for his family, friends, and fans.
Loved his role on QL

Batman Beyond Return of the Joker
RIP. One of my favorites.
Probably among the top five most beautiful boy actors of all time and he grew to be a handsome man.
HE WAS SUCH A GREAT ACTOR NEVER GAVE A BAD PERFORMANCE ♥♥♥♥
Imagine having such a glorious life and the anchorman botches your name in the obituary. RIP Mr. Stockwell I hope you have a sense of humour from the great beyond.
I wonder if he remembered his acting career in the end with the stroke complications. I hope he got those memories back before he died. 😢
I remember Dean Stockwell and I have seen some of his movies. He was so good in Married to the Mob. RIP.
He should've got the Oscar, for that!
I loved him in Quantum Leap and Married to the Mob. Married to the Mob came out in 1988 not the late 90’s
He was great!

RIP Dean Stockwell. My childhood Hero in Quantum Leap
RIP Mr Stockwell, always know him from Quantum Leap. 2021
Al is with Beth now 😔 R.I.P
A notable child actor he played in the 1948 movie, "The Boy with Green Hair".
We all miss you. I need Quantum Leap to see you again.

Love it! He practically out weirded Dennis Hoppers' 'Frank' character in that one. No easy task. R.I.P. 'Ben'.
Also very good in "Long Day's Journey Into Night" and "The Secret Garden". Fine actor.
R.I.P Dean 🕯️ Thank you for the memories. Rest knowing it was a job well done
Another Legend gone!
He was also in Dune, the 1984 version as Dr.Yueh
He was handsome and such a great actor. 😻😻😻
I can NOT believe he said his name wrong - he really does need to apologize!!!

Sam made it back home Rest In Peace Dean

He was awesome in Paris Texas , one of my all time favorite films.
That was Harry Dean Stanton, close friends & both gone now
My bad~ they were both in it
@@bill1589 I liked him in To Live & Die In LA where he only briefly appears.

Great film. Dean Stanton and Stockwell acted up a storm in that one. Nastassja Kinski, too!
Thank you.
Condolences to family, friends, and all those he touched with his works.
Fly free, R.D. Stockwell.
He also was in stargate Atlantis which was a epic role he played in one show on it

Was very sad to hear about this. Loved him in Quantum Leap. He made the show what it is even more than Bakula for me. R.I.P., Mr. Stockwell.
A sad loss RIP
