The sound they make when Jesus steps forward at the cliff gave me goosebumps. The way they score this show can make me cry sometimes it's so beautiful.
About Jesus's reaction as He finished walking through the crowd, I felt that He was throwing up a quick "thank You Father!" prayer for His request. Jonathon did a brilliant job of showing an intimate moment of gratefulness and (maybe?) celebration as his character moved to the next step of the Father's plan.
Satan was always trying to snuff Jesus out before He could make it to the cross. While Herod was the human entity, Satan worked through him to try to kill the infant Jesus at birth. Then there was an attempt to get Him through temptation. Then there was the cliff incident and a couple of stoning incidents in which Jesus was supernaturally protected by the Father. Finally, Satan tries to kill his physical body which was in great distress while Jesus prayed in the Garden. There were signs that his physical body was very weak. The sweating of blood testifies to this...can't remember the medical tern we have for this. Contrary to what a lot of people think...Jesus was NOT praying to avoid the cross! But rather that the Father restore his physical strength to endure what was to come in order to make it to the cross. The cross was always the goal because it was His and OUR Victory. Satan, knowing that he would be defeated at the cross (Gen 3:15) therefore tried to prevent Jesus from going to the cross. “…the Lamb slain from the foundation of the World.” (Rev 13:8)“He was destined before the foundation of the World”(1 Peter 1:20).
In a study, I learned that all synagogues wherever they were located read the same scriptures on the same sabbath. So, for Jesus to be at synagogue in Nazareth, that particular sabbath to read that particular passage to proclaim that he was the Great I AM and that passage had been fulfilled, He knew what sabbath it was and what passage was going to be read to proclaim that He WAS the Messiah.
Well, the only Torah Portion that has this chapter as a prophetic reading doesn't mention what Jesus supposedly read at this time. And you couldn't simply modify the haftarah reading (portion of the prophets), because it was a rabbinical institution, and it was forbidden by the Torah to disobey their decrees. So it's fake.
I love Mary's (sis of Lazarus) face throughout this scene. Brilliant acting. I hope for that excitement to grow in us believers the closer and closer it comes to Jesus' return
Howdy! I was in the "temple" that day as they filmed this scene. (I am in a back corner, just under the candle) But I wanted to mention - I don't think the chair was intentional. Why? Because it wasn't the original chair that Jonathan used. The chair he had before was a bit higher, by about 2"; however, the camera angle was a bit too...revealing. They had to bring in a lower chair, and that is the one you see in the final show.
Yeah, the shortness of Jesus' robe or tunic is kind of distracting to me. Most art shows him in an ankle-length robe, and with this one I sometimes think "look out, something might be showing!"
Good one Snipe Life. The synagogue scene is the highlight of this episode. Powerful, full of suspence. Well researched information as well. I think the smile and look up was a "Thanks dad" moment.
I like the fact you educate about Jewish practice and culture and the festivals. This was an intense episode. but also a funny moment with the sheep. Thank you for your commentary.
Bro, when I watched the scene of Jesus disappearing for the first time I had to rewind that joint. It was like the moment he turned around to talk to Rafi, Aaron, and Rabbi Benjamin time stopped and he spoke to their spirit. It looked super powerful that the crowd moved out the way but everyone was all standing around looking forward like why are we by this cliff and what just happened. Epic moment for sure. Glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed this. 💯
@@gingerharmon3674 After they forced him out of the synagogue. It looked like he just walked away like normal but nobody turned their head as he walked away which makes it appear supernatural.
Superb review Brandon. Johnathan Roumie did an amazing job of acting when he was seated on the Moses Seat. I could like feel the authority of Messiah. Dittos to the soundtrack. Intense, amazing!
With regards to Jesus’ smirk at the end of the episode, I would think that if that were to happen, it would be an acknowledgement of the Father’s foiling of the plans of the spiritual forces behind the people trying to kill in that moment. He could be sad for the people’s rejection, but rather rejoices in the Father’s mercy that prevented their sin to cause Jesus death prematurely. That way they still have the opportunity to be saved.

I think he said that about Joseph because he married Mary and she was pregnant. The slur of illegitimacy followed Jesus. Joseph was thought to be stupid because he said it was a great honor and privilege to be Jesus adopted father. Joseph didn't care about the ridicule because he was a humble man.
Yes! We've become soooo accustomed to the Nativity story that we don't stop and think how extremely difficult it was for Mary and Joseph. But God was there at every step of the way to bring guidance and reassurance and confidence to those involved.
This is a thought I had as well. We are so accustomed to thinking of Joseph as a righteous man as he was because God said so in His Word, but that does not mean that the people in Jesus day thought of Joseph as a righteous man. (God does not judge as the world judges. He looks at the heart). From a human perspective Mary turned up pregnant out of wedlock, and after initially considering breaking their engagment privatly, Joseph instead married her anyway, which likely looked to others like Joesph's concience getting the best of him and his taking responsibility for his own actions. This would most definetly have tainted his "righteous" reputation in the eyes of man...
That scene when he said yes and I saw when Jesus walked away from the crowd he looked up to say thank you father I got the chills, good explanation. Thank you.

And Jesus here says it with all his Heart, it hurts him it is so powerful : "I cannot save you" Congrats Dallas, really... This show is blessed
I think the timing of this episode's release was God-breathed and orchestrated because in today's time, we don't have prophesy of The Messiah coming as a baby. Messiah is King and Lord. Jesus declared Himself as such having grown in wisdom and stature with God and man. Oh Hallelujah! Come, Lord, Jesus.
What an amazing sharing of this scene. I learned so much. Thank you. Are you a musician? I would love to experience your music. If you have any recorded videos or audio please give a link where to find them. Thanks. Will be back. Great job!
This long scene was so good, I just wonder if that one line would have been less controversial to the "Mormon line" debate if Jesus had said, "I gave the law of Moses," or "I gave Moses the law."
We couldn’t care less about controversy, especially when it’s based in ignorance or misunderstanding, as long as we’re making the best decisions for the story. And “I am the law of Moses” is one of the most popular, impactful, and excitedly responded to lines in The Chosen’s history. Making it weaker or less impactful to avoid criticism from the 2% of people who misunderstood or were willfully ignorant about it would reflect a “fear of man” we don’t ascribe to.
@@TheChosenSeries I agree with you about not caring about controversy, I was initially thinking of alterations to lines that might be more clear to the viewer who hasn't read the Bible, but now that I think of it someone who knows very little about the Bible, Moses and the law might still be confused with the line change. All three lines are very powerful when understood in context, because every Israelite would have known God gave Moses the law, and each line would have been seen as blasphemy coming from Joseph's son.
I saw that smile as proud of the work. Proud of the faith that was stirred (as in Mary), proud of being obedient even unto death to the will of the Father, excited there is still work before He dies. Not sure, but my take!

Such a great breakdown of this section of the episode! Totally off subject-what do you think of Tamar possibly being used by Jesus as an illustration of the woman with the lost coin? I keep wondering if her coins on her headpiece could be part of her background history-maybe collecting her coins in preparation to be married or maybe she was married and her husband died??? Your thoughts?
@@joannapilgrim we can speculate...but this is a FICTIONAL character and wardrobe is fictionalized, too. Perhaps some women of this period...or women of a certain ethnicity...did dress this way. But probably was not every day wear. It shouldn't be too hard to do the research on the use of coins in a headdress or in jewelry.
Really enjoyed your breakdown and all the insights you shared about this scene. Including about the chair and especially about 'The Year of Jubilee'. Going to have to look further into passages about the Year of Jubilee and any other related passages. While I've read and understood the basics of this passage previously, watching the scene portrayed and your insights have definitely helped me understand it on a deeper level than previously. Thank You. I wonder if the comment re Joseph is maybe referring to Jesus's conception and the fact that people from Nazareth could well have thought that the fact that Joseph agreed to marry Mary instead of divorce her was an admission of his guilt in being with Mary before they were fully married. (Obviously we know it is was the Holy Spirit that overshadowed Mary to bring about Jesus birth, but few if any at the time would have believed that). This could well have been another reason they were less likely to see him as being fit to be the Messiah. Their thoughts could have been 'how could Jesus, who was born out of marriage, be the Messiah'. The fact it's a small town would I imagine make it less likely that the stories, and likely gossip/rumours around Mary's pregnancy would have been forgotten, perhaps just quietened down for a while. Maybe this also could add to the reason that Rabbi Benjamin was not to happy about Jesus when we even see him meet Jesus to begin with as well as any implications of Him being the Messiah. Would be interested to know what your thoughts on this are?
Oh, Lord Jesus, please help us to not to be those who point at the speck in the Pharisees', the people of the past, and our present day brothers and sisters eyes while not searching our ownselves to see the log in our eyes and souls. Help us to see Your 2nd coming as You would have us to. May we look forward to it with joyous and cheerful hearts, with reverence and trembling. May we be found in right standing with You, our lives showing gratitude for Your gifts of LOVE and grace. Thank You, Jesus. Save us even now. Oh How we need You, Saviour. Be our King and Lord both now and forever more for Christ' sake Amen
8:53 I think the jab that Rafi made was for something else. Remember where they are? Nazareth. What happened here about 30 years ago or I guess about 31 years ago? Mary got pregnant before she was supposed to. I doubt many believed that this was not done by Joseph, which would likely have brought Joseph shame, and brought Jesus shame also. Given that. It’s even more amazing that he was given the opportunity to speak in synagogue, and it might explain the comment made by Rafi.
You are so awesome, noticing all those correlation. You just slay. I love this channel. So much that today I'm going to ask for help getting into patron. I gots ta b part of this ministry. Even made the hood come out of me. 😂
In the Catholic church, the priest sits in a chair after reading. I am guessing Jesus sat in the Rabbi chair. In the old time catholic church, the men and women were separated. The book was chained to the pulpit. Each reading is done on a cycle for each day in a row. There are 3 readings and all are related to a certain concept.
True enough, the Catholic Church makes a point of taking a LOT of inspiration from Jewish tradition, down to the use of the term "priest" instead of pastor/minister.
@@ronaldkasolo1154 we do that kissing the hand and then the cross thing too. Hmmmmm . The book is carried in first, so the shadow of the cross falls on the book. Plus vatican has the oldest manuscripts in their 30 mile long archive, but okay.
Great Abalysis , I enjoyed the cliff scene but I felt they should’ve done more to emphasize Jesus’s supernatural disappearance. Like perhaps if the crowd entirely froze that would of sold it more .
How would the trip work if coming from places other than Chicago? Would we have to fly into Chicago to meet with the group so we can fly as a group?? I wouldn't want to fly out to Israel alone. If things happen the way I'm told they will (n PLEASE can you pray for me on this matter?), then I will be receiving a settlement, n I truly want to take this trip to Israel to see these places Jesus went n performed miracles n preached at so much!!!
Am I seeing correctly that the chair Jairus is using in the next episode (from 12:19) is extremely similar to the "Moses seat"? Pity, it would have been such great symbolism!
I haven't heard anyone talk about this, but it made me wonder... in this scene Jesus asked questions and specifically called upon Martha to answer them. Martha seemed uncomfortable responding. @snipelife, would it have been against tradition for women to speak in the synogogue during this period? It would not have been unlike Jesus to elevate the role of women in places where their very male driven culture did not! Just curious.
In regards to the smile at the end of the clip...hasn't Jesus done this before? Look back at the wedding and the water to wine miracle, he looks up and smiles after he confirms that its wine. I'm not sure if he does it with the paralyzed man...or the leper yet thats seeming to show that what has happened...is 'good!'? or that he's pleased with the outcome....
@user-di2ze8it4m Oh I agree of course. I'm just wondering how exactly did he do it? It almost looked like those guys were frozen, like they couldn't move. I would love to see a scene later on where the 2 guys explain that they wanted to move but they couldn't. Or maybe God stupified them for a moment. Like they couldn't figure out what's going on.

Just to add about moses, he speaks of The Prophet to come who is like him but greater.
Ooh, interesting!
Timothy 3:16 describes Dallas Jenkins Chosen show
What Ramin Djawadi was to Game of Thrones, Dan Haseltine & Matthew Nelson is to The Chosen. Fantastic soundtrack!
Good word son💗🙏🏻
No graven images. They wouldn't have any kind of depiction of Moses.
Linda serié de Jesucristo...Genial Dios les bendiga
Brandon what does your sign say behind you?
You are so awesome, noticing all those correlation. You just slay. I love this channel. So much that today I'm going to ask for help getting into patron. I gots ta b part of this ministry. Even made the hood come out of me. 😂
😂 amazing lol
In the Catholic church, the priest sits in a chair after reading. I am guessing Jesus sat in the Rabbi chair. In the old time catholic church, the men and women were separated. The book was chained to the pulpit. Each reading is done on a cycle for each day in a row. There are 3 readings and all are related to a certain concept.
True enough, the Catholic Church makes a point of taking a LOT of inspiration from Jewish tradition, down to the use of the term "priest" instead of pastor/minister.
@@Hard_Boiled_Entertainment ofcoz it also borrows abit of Roman paganism
AMEN! JESUS IS LORD!
That instrument is the precursor to the guitar of today.
Which episode is this?
I thought the year of Jubilee was every 50 years? I thought he said 7 years.
yeah I put a note on screen correcting myself there, just misspoke 😅
Why does our Chosen Jesus never cover his head while praying or reading from the scrolls?
No sound
How did he get out of that?
Why did they just let him go?
I explain that near the end of the video.
@TheSnipeLife
I know but I was wondering if I missed something 🤔
Scripture isn’t super clear about it either 🤷♂️
The Father wouldn’t allow it because it wasn’t His time - my assumption
@user-di2ze8it4m
Oh I agree of course.
Joan of Arc is the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Joan of Arc is the Commandments of Jesus Christ. Take that!
Of Jesus was kewish, why didn't he covered gis head?
The kippah wasn't a thing until much later on. Put in place by Jewish Leadership basically.
