    I opened mine to a point and one end was permanently stuck. This video was quite helpful because you suggested there could be hidden screw under that black circular object underneath. Mine had one screw and I never knew, after watching this video I got to know. Meanwhile, that DVD rom top is meant to come off, it wasn't broken

    Thank you for telling the screw size for this model. I've been searching all over the internet. ASUS website doesn't say anything.
    However a small correction, this model can only fit max 8GB of RAM per slot.

      @@ItsBinhRepaired Max RAM per slot (and from that - total RAM) depends on motherboard. For X556UR Crucial says the max is 8GB per slot. kingstonmemoryshop says the same.

      It's a lie. Until someone put a 16gb and confirms it doesn't work, you can't convince me otherwise. I've seen several times they will say they're a max and I put more and it works well.

    I get blue screens of death even after a fresh windows installation on this same laptop. Would you have a guess as to what the issue is?

    Hey be careful when applying that threadlocker. You did it over the open motherboard. Not entirely sure what threadlocker is made of, but I doubt you wanna bridge anything in your system.

      SSD and it depends how you use the computer. Matching the current amount is best, but if you use a lot of RAM, larger is better.

    I have this PC and it has 4GB of RAM. I took apart the small drawer but noticed there's no RAM. How is this possible? I'm not an expert. Also, I wanted to add a 4GB RAM, but I don't know the model. Can you help me?

    Hey 😢 mine one isn't turning on. I detached the ram and the battery. Then I reattached them. But now I'm trying to turn it on but the battery indicator just blinking and it doesn't turning on 😭.
    What should I do now????

    Hey I opened my laptop like a month ago to check issues I was having with the keyboard. I reassembled it and this week I was going into a meeting and found out that my camera wasn't being detected in any software. The thing is, idk which wire is from the camera, so Idk where to look.

      @@ItsBinhRepaired so there's two of them, one comes from the top left where the optical drive is, but that wire seems to be the wireless NIC, the other one is a flat wire on the top right, I tried replugging it and it seems that it was the display's wire. Now the thing is, I closed it all again and now when I turn it on I can barely see the ASUS logo on the loading screen. I hear the sound windows makes at start, but I can see much, it is like very dark.

      Sounds like you fried the backlight circuit. The battery removal and power drain is very important.

      @@ItsBinhRepaired using only the MAIN channel on wifi card, u can use only wifi and Bluetooth doesn't work. Using aux 1 channel you have wifi and Bluetooth

      You can mix, but it won't run as fast.

      No. This model only supports up to 8GB ram per slot. So your best bet is 4 + 8 = 12

      ​@@ItsBinhRepairedThis model is ugradable to 16gb of Ram, unfortunately, they've integrated 4gb to the board. There was supposed to be 2 more slots to make it 16, but max to max we can make it 12gb.
