Just think about Andrew playing in this movie. Nearly 10 years after the Amazing Spider-Man 1, he comes back as Peter Parker. This brings back memories. But he also gets to talk about Gwen, aka Emma Stone, for who he fell on the set. And now he witnesses his own story happening again, watching Tom and Zendaya falling in love too, while Peter and MJ get separated at the end of the movie. It's like a loop and it was probably very hard for him. In my opinion, for every scene about Gwen or when he watches Peter and MJ being cute, he isn't acting. He isn't in the character, he is Andrew Garfield.
