Cutting from the bottom to the top make so much more sense than the way I’ve been doing it and the way other chefs do it. I will try this this afternoon. Thank you so kindly.
So, I made this recipe in my Ninja Foodi Grill and it turned out awesome, although I will try a different breading/batter next time because mine wasn't quite the texture I was going for but thank you for showing how to do this you're a life saver! I love your channel.
Fantastic step by steps. I did not know Frank's RedHot actually makes a powder. Can't wait to trythe sauce. Looks like a fun project and don't worry I'll be careful 😉
I was looking for onion ring recipes to do in my Instant Pot Duo Crisp, and came upon your video. Great idea. And I have an actual blooming onion cutter I bought a million years ago to deep fry them. Didn't go so great for me. But I am going to try again only with the air fryer. Thanks. And keep breathin'.
@@pressurecrisp Fooled me! I observed the French instructions on your unit and simply assumed.. Take care sister and thank you for the incredible recipes!
Great vid! Thanks. Wondering: I need to make my breading mix from scratch, and probably no wheat flour (GF), so probably rice flour. Any idea what goes into it?
Awesome recipe. Ninja foodi has changed the game in the kitchen for home cooks. You should do a video on cleaning the foodi. I like to put qt cup of distilled white vinegar and a cup of water in the pot with the air crisp basket and pressure cook for 15 min. After that everything just wipes right off. (Sometimes a little light scrubbing for air crisp basket). Keep up the great vids!
Thanks! Yes it has changed-this machine is not only amazing but great for single people to families. Thanks for the cleaning tip, I will try that today as my basket is permanently discolored and it will help with the silicone ring as well. Plus I have to admit my 6.5 Qt. air crisping lid needs a good cleaning as well. Thank you so m much -I really appreciate you watching my videos!
Shake n Bake -That actually sounds good. You can use flour-and add cornstarch (or rice flour) and any seasoning that you would like to use-salt, pepper, cayenne, ancho chili powder. , Frank's red hot seasoning, They do sell other flour coatings at the market. Not sure where your from but t hey should've something. Thanks Cattitude!
@@jimmyjames7174 Kentucky kärnan would be good with this onion if you want a bit more spice add some cayenne. If it doesn't work out I always say I was making onion petals :) Thanks James! let me know how it comes out!
Lisa! My ninja foodi 8-quart arrived two days ago! Woot woot! I need help. What do I do with frozen pre-cooked and Sauced ribs that I bought from the grocery store? I have no idea what to do in that case but I want ribs this weekend and I'm going to make potato salad in the Ninja! :-)
Yay! Cut the ribs into thirds, use a flavorful liquid-apple cider vinegar, apple juice or whatever liquid that you like. PC HI for 15 -25 minutes depending on how you want them cooked-the longer the cook time the more the rib will fall off the bone and you can do a full natural release-this means when the. red. tab goes down you can remove the top. After cook time you can add a sauce of your liking and air crisp the ribs til desired color. The potato salad is so easy and especially nice in the summer as it won't heat your house up! Thanks Elizabeth!

Hi Ivory Poet, the bottom where the root is-just don't remove too. much of. it-I have had this happen then I just turn the blooming onion into petals just as tasty. Yess-flour, egg then breading or flour. Thanks!
Awesome Nate! Remember if it doesn't come out right the first time try again but just say that you meant to make onion petals. :). Let me. know how you make out!
The knife is in good hands. Usually the only time I cut myself is with the mandolin. As long as you. have a sharp knife and hold it properly your good but accidents do happen but not. doing this. thanks Linda!

@@dorsetboronia4551 Just say you meant to make onion petals. I still have them fall apart sometimes but I. cant justify to purchase a blooming onion maker. for $60.00 on Amazon-lol.

I'm up to try that as a TV snack 😍😍👍👍
Great TV snack! Enjoy! Thanks Dale!
Have you tried using skewers and sit onion in-between to cut the onion without cutting all of the way through?
No but if I make one again I’ll give it a try. Thanks!
Would an apple corer work to remove the center as long as you didn’t go straight through
Yes
Brown food tastes good! :-). That was one of my first lessons when I enrolled in a culinary school. Brown food tastes good and fat means flavor. :-)
So right! Brown=carmelization=YUM! and yes fat=flavor!
Great video!
Thank BB Jo!

I love your hair down Lisa . I'm definitely going to try to make this but my dressing will be sour cream.
Thanks Scottish Lass! Sour cream sounds great as a dipping sauce!
Hi, I just started watching and I love watching you. I’m thinking of buying a ninja food XL Pro air oven. Can you do onions in that oven
Thank you.

What is that flour mix you stick to the onion?
I used Hooters breading mix and added more seasoning as Hooters is kinda light with flavor. Added more cayenne. Thanks Luis!
