  • When it comes to skin care products, the term “non-comedogenic” has a simple meaning: The ingredients won’t clog pores. So, then, why are some non-comedogenic products still causing congestion and breakouts?
As Rosie discovered through her own experience with challenged skin, some ingredients actually aren’t as pore-friendly as they may seem. Here, she reveals why she now works from a stricter definition of “non-comedogenic”-and how the products she’s using have made her complexion clear and healthy once again.

    Rosie -
I read an interview you did a number of years ago and very quickly realised our skin issues are very similar. When I heard you highly recommended "IS Clinical" I got straight on the phone to them and asked very nicely if I could try a sample as I couldn't afford to buy any of their products. They very kindly sent me a small sample!
The 'Active Serum' worked immediately and every year since, it has been on my Christmas wishlist (my Mum and boyfriend chip in to buy it for me).
I'd like to thank you for creating this video. I will absolutely try one of the moisturisers you have recommended!
    Best wishes, Heather x

Rosie, you've been recommending iS Clinical products for so many years now and I love how genuine you are with your recommendations. Not that there is anything wrong with discovering new products but I feel like a lot of celebrities' rec products change quite so often but you've been so consistent with your picks and what actually works. I heard about iS Clinical from you years ago and have been using the Cleansing Complex and the Active Serum for YEARS now. They're my holy grail and they helped so much with my adult acne, thank you so much.

Acne problems really do affect people emotionally.....so I request people to not make fun of those who suffer from it.......because I have always had good skin but when in my teens I started going through little bit of hormonal breakout and when anybody commented on it (which was always the case)....it really affected my self esteem and also made me conscious of myself....so please be considerate of others feelings and stop being brash🙏

    My favourite non comedogenic products:
    AM
Cleanser - Bioderma sensible gel cleanser (Basic, no frills, does the job)
Hydrate/tone - Hado labo essence mixed with Paulas choice Niacinamide booster (this in particular has made a real difference to my skin)
Moisturise - Avene tolerance extreme light emulsion (Dr sam bunting approved)
SPF - I like either Heliocare 360 mineral tolerance fluid or Is clinical eclipse SPF 50 (both oil-free and mineral)
    PM
Cleanse (as above, but using a face halo)
Treat - Paulas choice bha 2% or Dr Sams nightly serum (I alternate)
Moisturiser and PC Niacinamide booster(as above)
For masks I love Andalou Naturals pumpkin enzyme mask for a glow and the Avene tolerance extreme mask when my skin needs bit more moisture!
Thanks for the product recommendations Rosie! Hoping some of these might help as some slightly more affordable alternatives :-)
    xx

Avoiding coffee, alcohol and sugar is very helpful. Many say that maca or Rhodiola rosea helps. It helps me for my psyche but not for my skin.

    Good morning
So SkinCeuticals C E ferulic is another hero product of mine. I have been using it for over 10years, at night. My face and neck.... it’s just amazing. When I heard you mention SkinCeuticals , it’s like one of the best products for skin care. They are on the pricey side but I’m very happy with my skin and texture. Thx for the video. 🤗

iS Clinical is such an amazing brand. After seeing an article including you and Shani Darden talking about their products about 5 years ago, I invested in them after trying what seemed like everything else. And they definitely are an investment, but the serums last 6 months or more for me when I apply them to damp skin (for more slip) and use 3 drops. I’ve always had skin issues and, while I do take medication from the dermatologist, these products are the reason I get compliments on my skin. Now, I work at a medi-spa that sells these products so I get a better deal too! Honestly, I started working there for these products and I don’t think I’ll ever stop using them.

There’s plankton extract in IMAGE PREVENTION+ SPF 50. Plankton extract shows up on the acneclinicnyc.com webpage as pore clogging. Please advise.

I only managed to get rid of my pimples was with Isotretinoin, unfortunately my pimples were very severe, only with oral treatment to resolve.

Have you ever tried murad’s products? I’m struggling with the same issue and now I’m using his or dr lancer’s routine. Do you have any thoughts about those products?

Hi rosie! Would it be ok to add active serum to daily make up routine ?
I was thinking of using it after cleansing my skin with honey warming cleanser from Is clinical ,then applying active serum ,following by moisturizer and primer just before applying powder on . Do you think active serum won’t cause make up to last shorter ? Or will it make the make up heavy /Cakey ?

I've got acne-prone skin too and now that I've seen this video I'm on the prowl for the products you recommended 😄 You've been an inspiration for me since I was 15, and now, 12 years later, here I am watching your videos and feeling more inspired than ever! You're an amazing human being

I have acne (only on my jawline) since I'm 16, now I'm 25. The ONLY thing that helped me completely (100%) is two creams from my dermetologic 1) Clindamycin phosphate 1%. 2)Adaferin cream 0.1%.
I do facials every 4 months and of course I use extra help from my skin care. But please- If you have a medical skin condition please go to a doctor... much cheaper and helpful.

Thank you so much for informing on those websites. used acne clinic nyc and there are 2 products I use, including the embryolisse lait creme concentrate that contain pore clogging ingredients, but it's saddening as I really do love it. Definitely will buy the IS Clinical cleanser after my avene cleanance cleansing gel finishes. The avene one is wonderful for acne/ oily skin with good ingredients apart from the addition of pesky fragrance, but that IS Clinical cleanser has no fragrance so will try it.
