This is gold! I’ve only recently came across this game and i’m having a blast. It’s a combination of 2 favourites - pokemon & castlevania ☺️ i knew the monsters you mentioned were good, I actually have yowie and the cat already, but the build is priceless 👍🏻
Nice video. I’m going to try this build. This was very helpful being a newbie to this game. I’d love to see you make more videos of various monsters and their builds. It would be good to explain how monsters compliment each other in a team. Still trying to wrap my mind around it all.
Catzerker is fine for the early game, just remember that you're facing three enemies, not just one, and his abysmal HP total is going to let him get focused very easily. Useful in the early game, yes, which is why I don't disagree that he has a spot on a 'best team for early game' video, but you're going to outgrow him eventually. I'm honestly surprised you didn't mention Fungi. Multi-Poison let him stack DoT very viciously. Heck, for a while, my team was Yowie, Magmapillar, and Fungi. Yowie would spread Chill with his AoE, Magmapillar would burn and shield, and Fungi would spread poison and other debuffs. Teams would just melt away. This got even more ridiculous once you evolved Magmapillar into Magmamoth which has multi-burn. Three stacks of poison, three stacks of weakness (which meant they were taking more damage because of Fungi's aura), three stacks of burn, and a stack of Chill + Congeal = enemy teams simply melting away.
Thanks for the guide! Hard to find some info about early-game 5 star teams. Catserker such a beast, I'm able to 5 star almost everything with this team. Mass buff from Yowie, single target buff from Frosty and Catserker shred everything in 2-3 turns with mass slash.
The team isn't bad but the big issue is that until you get congeal on Yowie at 20 the teams damage output is not good. You can ham fist your way through fights because you are so tanky and the chill stacks burn your opponents mana out fast that they hit like a wet noodle but you are having catzerker slowly drag the team across the finish line in every battle.
Would love to see how you typically use the team in battle. Also- would it help to see the food feature selection as well? I’ve been stuck on sun temple boss and hoping this works.
Do you have any suggestion as to around what Level this setup starts to be viable ? Doesn't have to be an exact level ofcourse. My version of these 3 are lvl 10 but I don't think their stats are at the right lvl yet for me to pull this off.
I would have went with Wolf based on looks, but I'm hearing from most sources that the Toad is the best, followed by Eagle. Which Starter do you use in your team? I take it if Yowie is your tank, you didn't take the Frog? (and probably the Wold if it's a chill team?) I just got the game today though, and not started yet, I am not sure at all what to pick.

congeal is a completely insane ability that doesn't come online until lvl 30, but there's no big mystery to how to play this team. Yowie buffs and heals mostly, frosty stacks combo and chill, and then catzerker capitalizes on all that to deal massive damage in one swing. Maybe what you're missing is the combo stacking -- every hit increases damage by 5% for the rest of the turn, meaning if you're using catzerker first and then the rest of the team, you're leaving a ton of damage on the table. The other possibility is that you're expecting this to tear through enemies. It has a lot of sustain and prevents a lot of incoming damage -- multichill means enemies are doing regular attacks instead of big hits a lot of the time. Yowie channels and heals, making sure your team stays alive and can consistently use their strongest skills. It's not an attrition team and it's not a super aggro team, it's well-rounded and reliable.

The best thing about this game is that there are so many viable teams and every monster can be made to work.

Totally agree with you, a DoT build needs a bit of survivability about it, and magmapillar would work great in this.

You can swap the cat for the Monk, he deals physical in different element ,and he crits a lot, the crits have some cool effects and buffs on him.

Are the started monsters that bad? I picked the wolf starter and he by far does the most damage on my team. Team is lvl29.
How is this early game... you need at keast lvl 20 to make this work.

This didn't work at all untill lvl 20 for me, really low damage before that, there are far better low level teams like manticorb, golem and catzerker.

I know I'm late, but would the wolf spirit work for chill? With Ice storm?
If you pick up the multi chill from the wolf and have the congeal from Yowie, you have some serious damage potential there for sure!
