Thank you for a direct, informative video! I love that you got directly to the point and didn't drag out your list...best video I have watched with realistic, straight to the point info!
One of my friends, decades ago, decided to travel to Costa Rica and stay there forever. Weeks later, he returned, with the tail between his legs, and his answer was: too much rain. Ok, I travelled to CR so often, but every time it just was a vacation. Living there, as you said, is a completely different kettle of fish. But one day I will try it, whatever it may take...and we will see, how it ends😅
Great video! Yes, people coming for vacation and thinking they can move here, need to stay longer than a week to know if they want to move here. Good list of 12 reasons!
good points Ed...most of the negativity will come from family because they don't understand why you would move there,,,yes, it is a big step for anyone..just make sure it's for you....pura vida...just back sunday...again..was there in june...waiting on a closing..buying a place 10 minutes from la fortuna.

I am from Houston texas.. been here all my life.. by what i just seen.. all the things listed is here too.. spanish speaking population here has out grown english almost. everywhere you go, theres always a spanish and english choices here.. also, what about apps that do the translation? my only expectation is to be safe , and retire in peace..
Hola Christine, there are a lot of apps for translation that work well. Google translate is probably the most popular and it can help with communication, there is also speach recognition features so you don’t have to type. That being said knowing the language , at least a little will make life much easier. It sounds like your exposure to Spanish at home may be a good step to learning more when you get here.

Dental work is cheaper here, but any dentist visit will be expensive
