One of my friends, decades ago, decided to travel to Costa Rica and stay there forever. Weeks later, he returned, with the tail between his legs, and his answer was: too much rain. Ok, I travelled to CR so often, but every time it just was a vacation. Living there, as you said, is a completely different kettle of fish. But one day I will try it, whatever it may take...and we will see, how it ends😅

Thank you for this honest and well thought-out list. 10'35"-11'33" especially hit the mark.

I am from Houston texas.. been here all my life.. by what i just seen.. all the things listed is here too.. spanish speaking population here has out grown english almost. everywhere you go, theres always a spanish and english choices here.. also, what about apps that do the translation?
my only expectation is to be safe , and retire in peace..

Hola Christine, there are a lot of apps for translation that work well. Google translate is probably the most popular and it can help with communication, there is also speach recognition features so you don’t have to type. That being said knowing the language , at least a little will make life much easier. It sounds like your exposure to Spanish at home may be a good step to learning more when you get here.
