Are there dialects or accents in Korea? How different are they? It seems to me that the, how shall I put it, the melody of the language is quite different in Korean than in English or Norwegian. In North Norway the melody is pretty much the same as in English so I can just switch language and continue to speak with the same melody or how the tone goes up and down in the sentences. Not so in South Norway. There you have to change melody when you switch language or even to a North Norwegian dialect. When I listen to Korean, it seems to have a whole different melody. Do you have any tips how to grasp the "music of the Korean language" to put it that way, or do I simply have to listen a lot, try to copy the way they speak and pick it up that way?
There are indeed different dialects! You could listen to the various members of BTS speaking, and you’ll notice that some of them sound very different from one another. For example, SUGA speaks a regional dialect of Korean that not only sounds different (the “music” has its own tune ) but uses different/unique words! I think, other than immersion, listening exposure is a good way to pick up on the “music” of the language. There are various channels on YT that go in-depth on this topic. I loved your question and I hope my answer, however imperfect, is helpful ! :)
