I just bought a new iPad 10th gen and my very first Apple Pencil usb-c. I am learning to draw with procreate! I think you have just fixed my pencil pressure sensitivity issue! Thank you!
7:05 it might have been said by someone else, but if those suggestions don’t work and if keeps on skipping, sometimes the Apple Pencil tip needs to be replaced as it wears down over time or when you drop it (I’ve had some with a small dent in the tip causing this kind of skipping). Or when using a matte screen protector, it might need to be changed when it has to many or deep scratches (or cleaned when it’s dirty).
Thank you so much. Please help me. Very often , no matter which brush I’m using , the erase feature comes on. It’s very frustrating to be painting and all of a sudden I’m erasing!
Hello, you can change the settings of your Apple Pencil to avoid this issue. Go to your iPad settings (not Procreate settings). Then find Apple Pencil. Then where it has Double Tap, turn the option off. Let me know if that resolves the issue.
Thanks for this - very helpful! Especially since i had just screwed up a texture brush trying to make it smaller. The sidebar only narrowed the brush, didn't make the actual texture smaller. At least i know how to restore it now! Any hints on how to make a halftone dot texture smaller would be greatly appreciated!
You're welcome, Katherine! In order to make the halftone dot texture smaller, you can follow these steps: 1. Duplicate the brush and then tap on the brush to open the Brush Studio. 2. Then tap on the segment called Grain. 3. Reduce the scale on the scale slider. Tap on done to save the change. Let me know if that works!
Thanks so much, really helpful. My strokes all tend to look shaky, i am not sure if I have a shaky hand, when I draw with a pencil it’s not apparent, but no matter the brush, my strokes are shaky.
Hi Liza, if this is an issue with every brush then you’ll benefit from changing the overall Procreate settings for the Apple Pencil. Go to the actions menu (wrench icon), then go to Prefs, then go to Pressure and Smoothing. Play around with the first two settings until you are able to get non-shaky lines. Hope that helps!
Is this a particular brush that isn’t working or all your brushes do this? Can you make a quick video showing the problem on your phone and upload it to UA-cam as an unlisted video? You can share the link here or send me the link in an email (colorwithkendi@gmail.com). I’ll try to figure out the issue.
Go to preferences, gesture controls, general, uncheck “painting with finger”. Then also in gesture controls under smudge, make sure “always smudge with finger” is not selected. I hope this helps you 😊✌️🎨
Fantastic procreate sensitivity lessons you have. Please now do I configure my Apple Pencil to respond to very slight pressure Changes, especially most visible in Laura H . Rubin’s lines which feel like very very fluid ink that tapers so smoothly? I will be so glad if you can answer this question. L am not rich enough to buy Laura's brushes. Thanks so much.
Hi there! I use the 6b default pencil in procreate. I select the Comic 6 x 9.5 inch cavas. The pen works great for a one character panel. But when I use to make 4 or 5 panel scenes and Im drawing the characters smaller in size on the same Comic 6 x 9.5 canvas, the 6b pencil is too fat to draw details. Even if i slide the pencil size to smallest setting. Is there a way to change the 6b pencil size lower in the settings? Thanks!
You can change the settings in the brush engine. You can watch my video here: ua-cam.com/video/HrqrmTW9P78/v-deo.html Just change the min size instead of the max size. Let me know if that works!
I’m not sure what’s wrong with my hardware but regardless of how I change the pressure curve, nothing changes the thickness of my lines no matter how hard I press. Very disheartening. I’d love some help if anyone knows how to change it. Is there a setting I’m missing outside of the curve???
Hey! 😊 thanks a lot for this video. Basically my problem is a little bit different and maybe we could find a solution for it ; so first of all I use a 2022 iPad Pro with 2nd generation pencil ,canvas settings are always at high px and 450 dpi. And my issue is when I draw something in detail and I zoom into the canvas a little bit, any brush becomes VERY pixelated, let’s say it’s really disturbing for my drawing process, I feel it’s dirty. The second thing is that when I try to put shadows with gentle movements with a bigger brush, it leaves a mark in the beginning when I put down the brush , it leaves a mark in the way the brush pattern looks like itself. I try to do it as gentle as possible but it didn’t leaves even if I adjust the settings of the pressure. So hopefully I was able to explain it well. Thanks in advance 😊
Hello! What are the exact dimensions of your canvas? And if you could send a short video clip showing the issue along with the brush names they would be helpful. You can send me an email.
Hi there I’m having a problem with procreate settings most likely, because I even switched pens and it’s giving the same problem. So some brushes don’t adjust at all even when using the thickness and opacity sliders. The lines come out thin and pixelated or, in al the others, don’t even show at all.
Thanks for your video! I'm just starting out and am simply tracing photos, etc. to make stained glass patterns to ultimately be printed on my Cricut. Others have suggested the technical pen at 5% to make the correct line width for spaces between the pieces for soldering. My problem is that I need my line width to stay constant, no matter how hard I press, and the ends need to have no taper. Can you help with my settings? Thanks ahead of time!
Hi, thank you for your video! I have a question regarding the brush settings. Very often when I download a new brush set the brush is not wirklich with my Apple Pencil but with my finger. This is soo annoying and frustrating. Do you have a tip how to solve this problem ?
Sorry for the late reply. Have you tried turning off the option to paint with your finger? I have that turned off and I haven’t noticed the issue you’re describing. You can turn it off under the Actions menu under Preferences. It’s in the gesture controls under the general segment. Hope that will work.
I have a question! I can’t have the app pressure sensitivity on default because you can hardly see a mark no matter how hard I press. I have to really crank up the curve to see my marks. But when I do that my brushes don’t respond to pressure :(. Do you have any suggestions? Hopefully that makes sense haha.
Hello! I have a quick question. I recently got around to buying a 2nd gen apple pencil. Today I connected it and tried it out in procreate. I noticed that no matter which brush I selected(at 100% size), it was displaying as a thin line. I would have to set the pressure to 0 under apple pencil. Have you ever heard of this happening?
So sorry - I haven’t heard of anything like this. Do you have any other app that you can test the Apple Pencil in? Like GoodNotes or Notability or another art app? That way you can figure out if the issue is with the Apple Pencil itself or if it is an issue with Procreate.
Also must say I was having trouble getting my brushes to draw, but the apple pencil worked for navigation. Solution: after I tried fiddling with a bajillion settings, restarting the ipad. Sometimes you really do just need to "turn it off and back on again" as they say 😭
Hi, many thanks for the tutorial. Can you help with the tip of the brush? All of the end of the line or tip is not sharp or pointed like yours, I haven't seen any tutorial for that, all of the end of my lines are not pointy or sharp
Hello, You're welcome. The sharp tip of the lines depends on a few things: 1. The brush itself. Not all brushes have the ability to create such tips. It depends on the settings. Select a brush in the brush library. And then tap again on the brush in the brush library and it will open up the brush settings. Adjust the taper settings. 2. Your use of pressure. To create pointed tips, you need to reduce the pressure as you draw the end of the line. If your pressure remains the same throughout, you will not get a tip even if the brush settings are correct. This requires some practice and brush control. As you create a line, reduce the pressure as you lift the pencil. You will get the hang of it after a few tries. 3. Your stylus - if you have an Apple Pencil, you will be able to get the most out of the pressure sensitivity and therefore you should be able to create tips if the brush settings are correct and you use varying pressure. However, with other styluses, you may not get the same results as they are not always as pressure sensitive. In a nutshell, the taper/tip requires you to use a brush with the correct settings, a stylus that is adequately pressure sensitive and requires your use of varying pressure. Practice is essential. Hope that helps!
Hi, I am having big trouble with the smudge brush it’s doing its own thing. When I go to smudge something it’ll start doing it and then it starts to Erase itself. Simply driving me insane. Have you got a video to show how to fix this? Or have you got a smudge brush that I can purchase and if you have, can you please show me the link to the smudge brush
Hi Jenny, can you send me an email with a short video attachment of the issue? And also, can you let me know the name of the brush you are trying to smudge with? Not all brushes smudge well. Have you tried smudging with the Procreate default brush called Soft Brush (it’s under the Airbrushing section in the Smudge Brush Library). Does that brush also not work? My email address is colorwithkendi@gmail.com .
Hi I’m still stumped! I keep having to hold down when drawing to have the lines come out when drawing. It’s not a issue for most of my lines but mercury for example is making me press down on my tablet when using my apple pen and when I do it just comes out a big line and I don’t want to deal with it. How do I make it where I can draw easily with out pressing hard? Sorry if i word it bad I don’t know how to explain this.
Hi! why is my pencil not pressure sensitive? For the default “script” brush, im pressing hard but it’s not becoming thick, just same size when I don’t press too hard (only the opacity changes)
Hi! None of the changes I made to the pressure curve changed my pen strokes. I even made it more extreme in all of the directions and there was no difference in the line my pen would draw. Is there another setting I might be missing?
I tried fixing the Sticky Brush problem and it didn’t work:( it works on the preview brush test panel, but not on the main canvas. Is there like a main override option?
Hi, when I outline my drawings and I want to extend my canvas the size of my pen line changes. It never happened before. I understand it has to change in a certain way but it’s supposed to stay true size with what I’m doing? Please help!
Hi! I still kinda having a trouble with the pressure thingy, I've adjust like what you said, buy it's still not working, is it because the pen I use is Bluetooth pen? I don't understand, but I'll be happy if you caj help me :")
Great vid! In the first part of the video it shows pressure, i cannot get the light sketch no latter what curve i do, it all looks extremely dark, any idea??😭
Hi Pamela, can you try again and test with the default 6B pencil and drag the center pressure curve node all the way to the bottom right hand corner? That would be the most extreme setting. If it’s still coming out dark then it’s likely some other issue and not the pressure curve. Let me know if it works.
Dear . I did the setting you told but line quality is not changing with pressure . It remain the same for light pressure and more pressure. My pencil is not Apple Pencil. It’s meta pen .can it be a reason?
Hi, since you are using a different stylus so those pressure settings may not work for your pen. I haven’t used the meta pen so I’m not sure if it’s pressure sensitive.
do you need to do stabilization with all the brushes? or is there a setting we might be able to change, I feel most of the default are like that, maybe not to that extent shown on video but they do have some stickiness to them
As far as I know, there is a setting under the actions menu (the wrench icon) under preferences called Pressure and Smoothing and you can only increase overall stabilization there, not decrease it. So there is no way to decrease the stickiness of all brushes in one go. You’ll need to change the stabilization of each brush individually if you want to remove/decrease the stickiness.
Hello I need help please I recently faced a problem with procreate where some of the brushes I used to use and some of a newly purchased brushes only works with finger although the pencil hover and taping on menus is working perfectly as well as drawing in other apps, I searched for along time to find a solution on the internet but the easiest was to manipulate brushes one by one size, opacity, bleed and so on, which is really frustrating and annoying, thanks in advance.
Hello dear, Thank you for this amazing video but I need help please as it didn’t fix my issue. I can’t seem to draw with apple pen, only I can with my fingers .not sure if I messed something up in the settings as it was working fine before. Please help, 😩
Hello 👋. There are two different things you could try. 1. Go the the wrench icon and tap on Prefs. Then go to Gesture controls and then tap on General. Then turn off enable painting with fingers. Exit and go back to the canvas. Then try to use the Apple Pencil. Does that work? 2. Go to the iPad settings app. If you don’t know where that app is, just hit search and type in the word “settings”and it will come up. In that app, find where it says Apple Pencil. Then turn on the setting that says “only draw with Apple Pencil”. Does that work?
Hi, thank you for the tips you shared! I have learned a lot. But my brush behaviour issue hasn’t been mentioned. My brush strokes have abilities to undo themselves while I’m still working. I am trying to draw a oval or circle and before I managed to close the curve and hold to activate the menu, my strokes started going backwards and become as a line instead of curves 😢, or make a curve but not closed up. Like a half oval . I don’t know what I have changed in my settings to get this issue and if you know how I can fix it, I will be grateful ❤
Hi Dani, there are two things that came to mind when I read your comment. 1) You might be inadvertently invoking the QuickShape feature in Procreate. If you make a line or curve and hold it (even inadvertently), it invokes the QuickShape command automatically and that can make your strokes look really different from what you had made. You can try turning off QuickShape and see if your issue resolves. I'll explain that in the next reply.
To turn off QuickShape, complete the following steps. Open the Actions Menu (wrench icon), and then go to Prefs. Select Gesture Controls. On the left, find where it says QuickShape and tap on it. Then turn it off. You might have it turned on as Draw and Hold. See if turning that off helps.
The other thing I thought of was 2) the connection between fabric and the screen. Sometimes, when I wear a sleeve with soft fabric and if it brushes up against the screen while I paint, the strokes look funny and not as intended. Try to push the sleeve of your shirt up so it can't touch the iPad screen when you paint. Let me know if any of the two solutions worked. :) Hope that helps!
Do you know why my brush set icon is not blue? when im using a brush i dont know in what set it belongs, because the set icon is not highlighted (blue)
I know this isn’t really the topic under this vid, but I need an immediate help with finding my lost brush of my own on Procreate, I don’t know where Do I find the recently deleted folder to recover it if it’s even possible, any suggests?
Hello. From my understanding, it's not possible to recover lost brushes once they have been deleted. Lost Procreate files can be recovered if you have them automatically backed up on iCloud but I don't think that applies to brushes. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen a way to recover lost brushes.
hey! wondering if you could help: i have the brush opacity problem, but it isnt because of the opacity slider being set wrong! the brush is normal when im using my finger, but no matter how much pen pressure i put, my apple pen shows it as semi-transparent. whats the issue?
Sorry for the late reply. Did you find a fix for this? If not, send me the brush (my email is on my website) and I will take a look at the brush settings. Seems like there is some setting that might be causing this.
I've been experimenting with stamp brushes. I can't figure out why when the stamp is soon much harder to see than when it is big. It seems the stroke fades? Any suggestions on what setting I need to change in order to keep the visibility the same at all sizes of the stamp brush?
Check the fall off setting in the brush settings. If it’s on, turn it off. To get to that setting, just tap on the brush to open the Brush Engine and you’ll see it in the first category at the bottom.
@@colorwithkendi I gave it a shot. Turned the fall off all the way down, then back up. No change on either setting. The stamp, a simple circle, still gets lighter the smaller the size selected. I'm wondering if I have to just make a new brush for each size of a circle I need?
Seems like something if off in one of your brush settings - probably related to color or opacity. You should be able to change the size of the stamp without it getting lighter. It’s hard for me to tell you what setting it could be without looking at the brush settings. You could email me the brush and I could take a look. My email is on my website.
My problem is that i want to have lines same width but while i resize canvas to see better the brush will be different size... like when you draw on full size its bigger when you go closer and make same line with same pressure its lighter, how to change that?
dear kendi when i make a brush i keep seing my canvas so i made a drawing to make a girly brush but it is in the square of the canvas and i realy do not know how to fix that do you know? its with every brush
The shape you use for creating a brush needs to have a pure white or pure black background. If it doesn’t then the canvas will show up. What’s the current background color of your shape?
I got my 2nd gen today and it works all well and good, but I don’t understand why it’s not really working with procreate, despite me changing the settings, the pressure setting doesn’t seem to work I don’t think and the tilt doesn’t work that much and I’m super confused,, you can’t even see the brush strokes unless I change the settings of each brush, maybe I’m just being dumb cause I have no idea what I should be doing💀
Is my pen broken ? Using basic brushes like round painting brush etc I can’t get the pressure sensitivity to work right, the line comes out as the same thickness/darkness whether I press lightly or hard no matter how I adjust my pressure graph - also tried individual brush settings.. and I tried changing the tip
Do you have an Apple Pencil or another stylus? Sounds like there is an issue with the stylus itself and that’s why Procreate isn’t able to sense the changes in pressure. Have you tried using your stylus in any other drawing program like Photoshop on the iPad? Do you still have this issue in those programs? If you do, then it seems like you will need to get the stylus fixed.
Very helpful! I’ve been looking everywhere for a solution to what you were calling the sticky brush and I’ve been calling the snapping or elastic brush. Thank you so much for the frustration I have had is finally lifting!
Does this happen with all brushes? Or only certain ones? When you draw the circle, are you holding the pencil in place after you're done drawing it? That might be invoking the QuickShape function. Usually it works as intended and will create a perfect circle, but maybe it's not working correctly. You can try turning off the QuickShape function and see if that helps. Go to the wrench icon and tap on Prefs and go to gesture controls and turn off the QuickShape function (turn off draw and hold). Let me know if that works!
@colorwithkendi @colorwithkendi Actually, when I try to draw, it always appears thin. No matter how much I try to set the size or opacity, even when I zoom in and out, it still does it. I tried the settings and used the pressure grid, but nothing works. It works well when I use my fingers, but not my pen.
@colorwithkendi My apologies for the delay, but after some research. I found out that the bruches don't respond to my apple pencil. I needed to change up the brush settings, so i can use my pen. Before finding out about this, it didn't matter if I zoomed in or out or even adjusted the pressure grid. It still didn't draw. I also checked the pencil tip, thinking it needed to be replaced, but that wasn't it either.
You’re invoking the erase feature by inadvertently double tapping on the Apple Pencil. Learn more here: ua-cam.com/video/1htbZJn5YKg/v-deo.htmlsi=oLUn557CMPiKDHrm You can turn it off in settings on your iPad.
@@colorwithkendi I fixed it! I don’t have a Apple Pencil and I don’t use iPad either I use phone and my finger and I didn’t have the settings that most do on iPad, I found out that I stupidly had the same color as the canvas on my brush. Ty for the reply nonetheless.
How do I colour something in and maintain the same colour no matter how many times I lift my brush? Every time I try to shade (with any brush) and I go over what I coloured before it makes it darker in some areas and I don’t want this - please help! Many thanks
Seems like it’s the brush settings. Many brushes are meant to have an overlap effect. Does this happen when you use the Monoline brush as well? It’s a default brush in the calligraphy section.
@@colorwithkendi thanks for getting back to me, i also meant to say how great this video is and that ive subscribed for more! I am only using default brushes at the moment, mainly the rounded head brush and im finding it a bit troublesome when it comes to shading and colouring. Ive looked into preferences and settings for it but i cant see to figure out how i can achieve a single tone colouring-in tool. I would HUGELY appreciate your help with this and many thanks again!
I’m not familiar with the rounded head brush. Which section is that under? Many of the default brushes have the overlap effect. The only one I know that for sure doesn’t have that is the monoline brush under Calligraphy. The overlap effect can be due to many different settings so it’s hard for me to tell you exactly how to change it. It varies from brush to brush.
@@colorwithkendi sorry I mean round brush, it’s the first brush under painting. The monoline brush under calligraphy has overlap when I tone down the opacity. I’d be really surprised if there wasn’t a quick fix or solution to this as it’s a very simple request so I’ll keep looking but thanks for your insight anyway!
Are you using a lower opacity setting for all your brushes? Lowering the opacity of any brush will definitely result in the overlap effect. Even for a normally opaque brush like the monoline brush, lowered opacity results in a semi-transparent stroke. If you want a completely opaque color fill, you can create an outline of your shape with the monoline brush at full opacity and make sure to close the outline so there are no gaps. Then use the color drop function to fill the outlined shape with a solid color.

Hello 👋. Have you tried increasing the canvas size? Is this happening with all brushes or just a few?
Thanks for this - very helpful! Especially since i had just screwed up a texture brush trying to make it smaller. The sidebar only narrowed the brush, didn't make the actual texture smaller. At least i know how to restore it now! Any hints on how to make a halftone dot texture smaller would be greatly appreciated!
You're welcome, Katherine! In order to make the halftone dot texture smaller, you can follow these steps:
1. Duplicate the brush and then tap on the brush to open the Brush Studio.
2. Then tap on the segment called Grain.
3. Reduce the scale on the scale slider. Tap on done to save the change.
Let me know if that works!
Tysm, I had no idea the baskerville was just meant for something else, I thought I had a general problem..
Thank you for the tips! I had that issue with the transparency that the slide was down and didn't notice it :D
Glad it helped!
Thank u so much! Ive been struggling with the tilt settings, and this helps me a lot :")
Happy to help!
Mine still doesn’t workk 😩 it makes this smudge effect especially over a color but then the brushes and colors work with my fingers
I hope this helps you 😊✌️🎨
Thank you!!!!! This helped me a lot.
I’m not familiar with Laura Rubin’s brushes, so I won’t be able to tell you how to create something that responds similarly.
thanks for the video! I've been struggling with the tilt settings for a while!
You can watch my video here: ua-cam.com/video/HrqrmTW9P78/v-deo.html
Just change the min size instead of the max size. Let me know if that works!
i have looked everywhere for this type of tutorial thank you So much omg
You're welcome!!
Muto obrigada!!! Seu vídeo me salvou, pois não sabia mais o que fazer para corrigir o problema da minha pencil.🥰🥰🥰
THANK YOU. The tilt thing was driving me BONKERS!
This is a great video with very helpful tips. The video was simple and to the point which made it very easy to follow and understand. Thank you 🙏🏽
Thank you, Kari. 😃 Happy to hear that!
thank you for the tilt settings one! even though that wasnt the issue(it might just be my pencil nip dulling) thats such an easy and useful fix!
You're welcome!
Saved me with the stabilization tip!!
I’m not sure what’s wrong with my hardware but regardless of how I change the pressure curve, nothing changes the thickness of my lines no matter how hard I press. Very disheartening. I’d love some help if anyone knows how to change it. Is there a setting I’m missing outside of the curve???
Are you using an Apple Pencil? Is it pressure sensitive in other apps but not in Procreate?
Same. Could you fix it?
@@colorwithkendiyes it does with me
@@colorwithkendiI’m using an apple pen and no matter how light i press it’s still dark even changing the curve.
@@colorwithkendi thank you for your quick response! Sure, I’ll send you today all the informations attached.
Hi there I’m having a problem with procreate settings most likely, because I even switched pens and it’s giving the same problem. So some brushes don’t adjust at all even when using the thickness and opacity sliders. The lines come out thin and pixelated or, in al the others, don’t even show at all.
Can you please send a video of your issue to my email?
Thankyou really solved all my problems
Thanks for your video! I'm just starting out and am simply tracing photos, etc. to make stained glass patterns to ultimately be printed on my Cricut. Others have suggested the technical pen at 5% to make the correct line width for spaces between the pieces for soldering. My problem is that I need my line width to stay constant, no matter how hard I press, and the ends need to have no taper. Can you help with my settings? Thanks ahead of time!
Have you tried using the monoline brush in the default Calligraphy section? It has no taper and is a single width.
Can you send me a photo of your current pressure curve? You can email me.
Thank you!!! The video contains a lot of useful tips
Glad it was helpful!
My eraser dont erase full when i light pressure .. can i fix it with the same pressure settings u told ?
Is the eraser brush opaque? If not, then it won’t erase fully.
Hello,
You're welcome.
The sharp tip of the lines depends on a few things:
Can you make a short video clip of the issue and link it here? That will help me understand the issue better.
Hi! why is my pencil not pressure sensitive? For the default “script” brush, im pressing hard but it’s not becoming thick, just same size when I don’t press too hard (only the opacity changes)
Which model do you have? The USB-C Apple Pencil is not pressure sensitive.
Very helpful! Thank you!
Hi! None of the changes I made to the pressure curve changed my pen strokes. I even made it more extreme in all of the directions and there was no difference in the line my pen would draw. Is there another setting I might be missing?
Are you using an Apple Pencil? Or another stylus?
I tried fixing the Sticky Brush problem and it didn’t work:( it works on the preview brush test panel, but not on the main canvas. Is there like a main override option?
Turn stabilization off under Pressure and Smoothing. To get there, go to the wrench icon and tap on Prefs and then go go Pressure and Smoothing.
thank you for the helpful tips.
Hi, when I outline my drawings and I want to extend my canvas the size of my pen line changes. It never happened before. I understand it has to change in a certain way but it’s supposed to stay true size with what I’m doing? Please help!
I’m not sure I fully understand. Can you film a short video on your phone to show me? You can email me.
Hi! I still kinda having a trouble with the pressure thingy, I've adjust like what you said, buy it's still not working, is it because the pen I use is Bluetooth pen? I don't understand, but I'll be happy if you caj help me :")
Sometimes things don’t work with a third party stylus. For best results, I would recommend an Apple Pencil .
I have a problem in sticky brush, and I tried what you’ve done on your video but sadly nothings change in my brush 😢 would you please help me.
Is this happening to all brushes or just one particular brush? Let me know and I can tell you what it could be depending on your answer.
How do u make de pressure more natural?
Adjust and experiment until it feels right to you.
I’m so sorry - I haven’t encountered this issue before so I don’t know how to fix it. Hoping someone else in the comment section can help out.
Hello dear, Thank you for this amazing video but I need help please as it didn’t fix my issue. I can’t seem to draw with apple pen, only I can with my fingers .not sure if I messed something up in the settings as it was working fine before. Please help,
😩
:) Hope that helps!
im struggling with trying to fix the “sticky” brush. Did exactly what you said on a different brush and it didnt work
Were you able to fix the issue? If not, send me an email with the brush and I can take a look at the settings.
Do you know why my brush set icon is not blue?
when im using a brush i dont know in what set it belongs, because the set icon is not highlighted (blue)
I haven’t come across that issue before. Perhaps contact Procreate support .
I know this isn’t really the topic under this vid, but I need an immediate help with finding my lost brush of my own on Procreate, I don’t know where
Do I find the recently deleted folder to recover it if it’s even possible, any suggests?
Hello. From my understanding, it's not possible to recover lost brushes once they have been deleted.
Lost Procreate files can be recovered if you have them automatically backed up on iCloud but I don't think that applies to brushes. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen a way to recover lost brushes.
Omg thank you so much i struggles with this 😢
hey! wondering if you could help: i have the brush opacity problem, but it isnt because of the opacity slider being set wrong! the brush is normal when im using my finger, but no matter how much pen pressure i put, my apple pen shows it as semi-transparent. whats the issue?
@@colorwithkendi thank you! Email sent.
What Apple Pencil are you using? And what I-Pad?
I have a second generation Apple Pencil and my iPad is an iPad Pro from 2021.
Thank you for helping me 😊solve my problem 😅.
Happy to help!
My problem is that i want to have lines same width but while i resize canvas to see better the brush will be different size... like when you draw on full size its bigger when you go closer and make same line with same pressure its lighter, how to change that?
Go to the wrench icon and then to Prefs and change the dynamic brush scaling setting.
i love u keendi u really help me
dear kendi when i make a brush i keep seing my canvas so i made a drawing to make a girly brush but it is in the square of the canvas and i realy do not know how to fix that do you know? its with every brush
The shape you use for creating a brush needs to have a pure white or pure black background. If it doesn’t then the canvas will show up. What’s the current background color of your shape?
My brush is transparent and the slider is completely up and when I use my finger it’s normal I can’t find out what’s wrong (tips wanted x] )
Seems like it could be a stylus issue. Is it an Apple Pencil? Does it work as expected in other programs such as Good Notes?
i have a problem with then painting brush that is the square shape, i wanted to create a sharp line but the end kept doing curve
Is it a Procreate default brush? What’s the name?
May I ask where you got the grip for you Apple Pencil?
I got it from Amazon - it’s from a brand called Uppr.
So I’m struggling with the sticky brush situation and following your instructions hasn’t changed it at all. Please help.
Have you figured out the issue? Is it an issue with a particular brush or all brushes in general?
I got my 2nd gen today and it works all well and good, but I don’t understand why it’s not really working with procreate, despite me changing the settings, the pressure setting doesn’t seem to work I don’t think and the tilt doesn’t work that much and I’m super confused,, you can’t even see the brush strokes unless I change the settings of each brush, maybe I’m just being dumb cause I have no idea what I should be doing💀
Just to confirm, it is indeed the second generation and not the new USB-C Apple Pencil which was released last year?
Thank u, it really helps me🎉🎉🎉
My studio pen is very thick when I use it, the slider is at the very bottom, how do I thin out the brush please?
You can watch my video on how to reduce the maximum size of a brush: ua-cam.com/video/HrqrmTW9P78/v-deo.html
Instead of increasing the size, just decrease it.
Very helpful! I’ve been looking everywhere for a solution to what you were calling the sticky brush and I’ve been calling the snapping or elastic brush. Thank you so much for the frustration I have had is finally lifting!
Kendo I have a big problem it will not let me draw a circle it goes back to the starting point it’s like the line moves after I draw it
Does this happen with all brushes? Or only certain ones?
When you draw the circle, are you holding the pencil in place after you're done drawing it? That might be invoking the QuickShape function. Usually it works as intended and will create a perfect circle, but maybe it's not working correctly.
You can try turning off the QuickShape function and see if that helps. Go to the wrench icon and tap on Prefs and go to gesture controls and turn off the QuickShape function (turn off draw and hold).
Let me know if that works!
Awesome video!! I've been having trouble with some brushes and this helped me out a lot! Thank you so much! Subscribed for more tips :)
Glad the video was helpful! Thank you for subbing! 😊
Yeah, thank you. The Stabilization is annoying.
Do you know what to do if the brush is not in the size I set it too?
Can you please elaborate? Are you setting it to a specific size and then does it change when you zoom in?
Okay I have a question does it depend on the ipad pencil I use because nothing is working with me
I don’t have experience with styluses other than the Apple Pencil, but I’ve heard that using other styluses can cause unexpected results.
@@colorwithkendi okay thank you for responding ❤️
When I switch to my brush and try to draw, it won’t draw, and when I draw it over line art or a sketch it erases, is there a way to fix it?
You’re invoking the erase feature by inadvertently double tapping on the Apple Pencil.
Learn more here: ua-cam.com/video/1htbZJn5YKg/v-deo.htmlsi=oLUn557CMPiKDHrm
You can turn it off in settings on your iPad.
