Noah also did it in his days. Even Peter in the book of acts did it. Your Title and intro seem at first to be condemning those who are warning of impending doom. God Still uses Natural phenomena, as Eclipse, to send messages to mankind. Thanks.
i think the intro and title were just factchecking the whole eclipse claim. also, warning of doom is a central point in reconciling people to god. how can a person be drawn to god if they don't see how utterly screwed they are without him? you brought up a good point, however. it's just that reconciling people to god and warning them are sort of the same thing...
