I will pray for your son and your whole family. Do NOT let them trigger a seizure. They can start them, but there is no guarantee they can stop them when they want. The brain is still mysterious to medicine. Don't let them use your son for a guinae pig. Get a second and even a third opinion. Participate in his case management. Don't be afraid to tell doctors no. Look for the least dangerous options in treatment, always. I know how devastating this is, but take everything day by day, appointment by appointment. God bless you and keep you and your whole family. You will find strength in the Lord Jesus Christ. Put your faith and trust in God, and always use your best judgment dealing with doctors.

Remember to give yourself some grace and rest as much as you need. Know that your true supporters will stay with you through thick and thin. ❤

We went through this with my daughter last year. My husband died 14 years ago from complications of a brain tumor, so when they said Sally had a "growth" in her brain, we thought it was happen all over again. Long story short, Sally was born with this. It is a tiny clump of blood vessels that don't connect with anything. For some reason, it started to bleed. She is now on medication, the little "raspberry" as we call it is stable. It cannot be removed or she would lose her ability to communicate. I am in a good place to help her. I have epilepsy from having encephalitis when I was six years old and had measles. I will keep your sonin my prayers. They may never pinpoint the cause of his seizures, but with the right meds, his life can go back to normal. Sally and I are proof of that. We don't have the same cause of seizures, either. BTW, I left comment on your other channel about vintage needlework magazines dating back to the earlt 1900s I would like to send you. If you are interested, let me know, and I will write to your p o box. I know the sound your son made. My daughter made it. You will recover. I am available to talk if you want. I LOVE your description of why you love the English throwing style of knitting! Now I know why I love it too. Your descrition of “involved.. like a potter throwing pottery… rhythmic relaxing….” Exactly how I feel about it too. I am not as big a knitter as I am a crocheter but I do knit socks! I’ve knit about 30 pairs and wouldn’t wear anything but my own knit wool socks ever. They are so awesome! Enjoying hearing about your new knitting endeavor and most certainly praying for your son!!! 🙏🏼❤️ My son had seizures from diabetes low blood sugars, and he was little. And I had a few myself after having a spinal test and the fluid leaked from the spine causing the brain to sit on the skull. Very scary stuff. Praying for you all !!! 🙏🏼❤️

There are two boys in my church having seizures suddenly. One of them tested positive for mould, mycotoxins, in his blood as the cause. The other they found a growth on his brain. I pray the doctors will have clarity in finding a cause and diagnosis for your son. I know how scared you must feel. You and your son will be in our prayers.
I know exactly how it feels to suddenly being diagnosed as an epileptic Corina..I was 29, had just gotten my bus license after wanting to be a bus driver from my teen years, and then, over three days I had five seizures..epilepsy was the last diagnoses on my mind...it turn out that I'd actually been epileptic since I was 8 and had copped a cricket bat to the back of my head whilst running to line up for class (primary school)..I'd had my first seizure during the school holidays after that, but we just thought that the flavoured milk that I'd drunk was off..they came and went, few and far between over the next few years, but as they were quick and petty mall I never thought to do anything about it..then the diagnosis came and my life changed..I had to fight to keep my license every year..I had to see a neurologist yearly, and I had to live with it..over the years I noticed that they tended to happen just before period time ( though not for every period) and I was beginning to think/wonder would these stop once I hit menopause...2012 was my last seizure, 2017 was my last visit to my neurologist, and I no longer have to fight to keep my license..I'm about to turn 60, so it has been a long haul for me...I wish your son luck and that it gets under control quickly so that life goes on..
What a terrifying experience, but it sounds like you're doing everything you should be to assess and manage James' condition. Knowledge is power. The more you know, the better off he'll be. He's in good hands, and if that means those hands need a break from crochet, that's okay. Take care.

I really hope your son finds a good balance with his health.. it's dreadfully scary but it can be controlled. As for the sounds... the prevalent theory is that people who used to be reported as 'possessed by demons' were simply having epileptic seizures. The fact that you're all helping with his recovery is going to help him, and help you all in spreading out the stress and pain of it. Wishing you all the best of luck with the doctors and insurance, and wishing your son comfort and a steady recovery.
We were sick with COVID in our house beginning of this year and my husband suffered from a seizure due to dehydration and sickness. He was in ICU for 3 days, scariest time of our life’s. As a nurse and even with all my training I was a nervous wreck. My heart goes out to you and your family!!! Sending prayers and positive vibes ❤
I'm in Phoenix - it hasn't felt as hot as usual here, but yes - too hot to relax out doors. Life has a nasty way of throwing curve balls at us. Self care is the only way to survive. For me it means a pedicure, a new book, and quiet time to crochet. Take your time - I don't mind watching your old videos to keep me relaxed.

Speaking of diving into new things... I gave Tunisian crochet a second try, because of the recent tutorials you posted of the bag and the blanket. I made the bag. Love it, the ribbon is on order. I'm exploring the simple stitch more and making a cat bed for my mother's new rescue kitty. (I volunteer at my local shelter, and this boy won my heart but I couldn't offer the type of home he needed as well as she could.) Next I want to try that vintage blanket. So thank YOU for emboldening me to try it again. Best of luck on your knitting journey. Knitting was my first love but crochet has my heart now, through and through.
My two youngest boys are also 21 & 22yrs old! Good to know his medication is controlling his seizures. Terribly frightening time from the sound of it. Knitting sounds like a good distraction.
I just found out we are neighbors and I totally agree with wanting the heat to go away. I do most of the needle crafts, crochet, knit, needlepoint etc. I am impressed with your knitting and I love your crochet videos ( I am currently making the sunflower shawl. Keep up the good work.
I'm sorry you had to go through this. I still remember one time when I was on second grade (I was just 8 or 9 years old) and a kid had a seizure out of nowhere in the middle of the school corridor. It was terrifying. We were coming back from lunch and he just fell to the ground having a seizure. Me and my friends didn't even know what it was, just that the boy was contorting and making those noises while the adults (teachers and other people that worked there) were rushing and trying to help the boy and pulling everyone back to class. Total chaos. And I feel your pain as a mother, I'm not a real mother but I had a cat that was really like my own child. I did help her mother deliver her, I was there for more than an hour by her side, massaging her belly, I did delicately push the kitten out to help. That little angel came to my life in a very difficult time in my life, when I recently had a miscarriage so she was like my own little baby. She lived for almost 20 years but in her last months she started having seizures and that was absolutely terrifying and heartbreaking. I knew she was going away. We did battle her intestinal cancer for 5 years already and she was already a really old cat so we knew it was coming. Your son is still young and there are so many medicine advancements through the years recently so he has the chance to have proper treatment whatever it is. I myself have some issues and I could keep writing here for a long time but I will write you an email some day to tell you all about it and how I'm progressing my crochet journey thanks to you. I'm genuinely grateful for all you do and as weird as it may sound, I feel like we are old friend. Always here wishing you all the best and that your problems won't let you down for long. Hi, Corinna! So sorry to hear the news. My heart is with you. Back in 2014 and 2017 I had a series of ECT treatments for my depression, and it absolutely made swiss cheese of my memory. I'm thinking that James may be experiencing the same sort of side effect, as the electrical impulses in his brain are basically overloading. I'm not a doctor and have no vast knowledge of seizure disorders, but it would make sense because ECT is very much using electricity to induce a seizure response. I'm glad that you found something that is bringing you joy and happiness. Good for you for finding a Threadhead hobby. You seem pretty skilled at it, too! YAY you! Love you lots, too. Epilepsy is a nasty disease. Gentle Hugs for everyone ❤ My sister was misdiagnosed with Epilepsy and medicated for it. Turns out she had Asthma and simply needed a puffer. I learned CPR at a young age to help assist my sister appropriately and efficiently with her breathing attacks would happen. I was around 8 or 9 years old. I pray that your son's health improves. It is a matter of getting the right diagnosis with the right medication. The tegratol my sister took damaged her hearing and added "S" sounds on the end of her words. This medication caused my sister a lot of issues, confusion, slowness, forgetting who she was. Unfortunately, they do have to go through various medications to find what works best. You are right it is scary. Take Care of yourself too. ❤

I LOVE your description of why you love the English throwing style of knitting! Now I know why I love it too. Your descrition of “involved.. like a potter throwing pottery… rhythmic relaxing….” Exactly how I feel about it too. I am not as big a knitter as I am a crocheter but I do knit socks! I’ve knit about 30 pairs and wouldn’t wear anything but my own knit wool socks ever. They are so awesome!

My son had seizures from diabetes low blood sugars, and he was little. And I had a few myself after having a spinal test and the fluid leaked from the spine causing the brain to sit on the skull. Very scary stuff. Praying for you all !!! 🙏🏼❤️

There are two boys in my church having seizures suddenly. One of them tested positive for mould, mycotoxins, in his blood as the cause. The other they found a growth on his brain. I pray the doctors will have clarity in finding a cause and diagnosis for your son. I know how scared you must feel. You and your son will be in our prayers.
I've also heard of tick bites causing them.
I know exactly how it feels to suddenly being diagnosed as an epileptic Corina..I was 29, had just gotten my bus license after wanting to be a bus driver from my teen years, and then, over three days I had five seizures..epilepsy was the last diagnoses on my mind...it turn out that I'd actually been epileptic since I was 8 and had copped a cricket bat to the back of my head whilst running to line up for class (primary school)..I'd had my first seizure during the school holidays after that, but we just thought that the flavoured milk that I'd drunk was off..they came and went, few and far between over the next few years, but as they were quick and petty mall I never thought to do anything about it..then the diagnosis came and my life changed..I had to fight to keep my license every year..I had to see a neurologist yearly, and I had to live with it..over the years I noticed that they tended to happen just before period time ( though not for every period) and I was beginning to think/wonder would these stop once I hit menopause...2012 was my last seizure, 2017 was my last visit to my neurologist, and I no longer have to fight to keep my license..I'm about to turn 60, so it has been a long haul for me...I wish your son luck and that it gets under control quickly so that life goes on..
What a terrifying experience, but it sounds like you're doing everything you should be to assess and manage James' condition. Knowledge is power. The more you know, the better off he'll be. He's in good hands, and if that means those hands need a break from crochet, that's okay. Take care.

Thank you for sharing this. My husband has epilepsy. The first seizure I saw him have was terrifying. Your family is in my prayers. I remember the summers in Phoenix. I don't miss them. Lol. 😂❤❤
I really hope your son finds a good balance with his health.. it's dreadfully scary but it can be controlled. As for the sounds... the prevalent theory is that people who used to be reported as 'possessed by demons' were simply having epileptic seizures. The fact that you're all helping with his recovery is going to help him, and help you all in spreading out the stress and pain of it. Wishing you all the best of luck with the doctors and insurance, and wishing your son comfort and a steady recovery.
We were sick with COVID in our house beginning of this year and my husband suffered from a seizure due to dehydration and sickness. He was in ICU for 3 days, scariest time of our life’s. As a nurse and even with all my training I was a nervous wreck. My heart goes out to you and your family!!! Sending prayers and positive vibes ❤
I'm in Phoenix - it hasn't felt as hot as usual here, but yes - too hot to relax out doors. Life has a nasty way of throwing curve balls at us. Self care is the only way to survive. For me it means a pedicure, a new book, and quiet time to crochet. Take your time - I don't mind watching your old videos to keep me relaxed.

You, your family, and everyone in your family should not only come first, but should take whatever time you all need to regroup and heal. I'm glad you are enjoying learning to knit though! My first experience of yarn arts was knitting; I thought I could never learn to like crochet. Now I prefer crochet over knitting. It is normal to grow, learn new things, and be excited about them--otherwise we would become stagnant. Enjoy your new found skills! And please, please, please, take the time you need to get yourself back to feeling safe, secure, and feeling like you can enjoy posting videos again. Us fans and friends can wait. My mum and I are English throwers, we both knit fairly fast mum with her eyes closed 😁, I love the rhythm and enjoy my crafting.

Speaking of diving into new things... I gave Tunisian crochet a second try, because of the recent tutorials you posted of the bag and the blanket. I made the bag. Love it, the ribbon is on order. I'm exploring the simple stitch more and making a cat bed for my mother's new rescue kitty. (I volunteer at my local shelter, and this boy won my heart but I couldn't offer the type of home he needed as well as she could.) Next I want to try that vintage blanket. So thank YOU for emboldening me to try it again. Best of luck on your knitting journey. Knitting was my first love but crochet has my heart now, through and through.

I just found out we are neighbors and I totally agree with wanting the heat to go away. I do most of the needle crafts, crochet, knit, needlepoint etc. I am impressed with your knitting and I love your crochet videos ( I am currently making the sunflower shawl. Keep up the good work.

I still remember one time when I was on second grade (I was just 8 or 9 years old) and a kid had a seizure out of nowhere in the middle of the school corridor. It was terrifying. We were coming back from lunch and he just fell to the ground having a seizure. Me and my friends didn't even know what it was, just that the boy was contorting and making those noises while the adults (teachers and other people that worked there) were rushing and trying to help the boy and pulling everyone back to class. Total chaos.
And I feel your pain as a mother, I'm not a real mother but I had a cat that was really like my own child. I did help her mother deliver her, I was there for more than an hour by her side, massaging her belly, I did delicately push the kitten out to help. That little angel came to my life in a very difficult time in my life, when I recently had a miscarriage so she was like my own little baby. She lived for almost 20 years but in her last months she started having seizures and that was absolutely terrifying and heartbreaking. I knew she was going away. We did battle her intestinal cancer for 5 years already and she was already a really old cat so we knew it was coming.
Your son is still young and there are so many medicine advancements through the years recently so he has the chance to have proper treatment whatever it is.
I myself have some issues and I could keep writing here for a long time but I will write you an email some day to tell you all about it and how I'm progressing my crochet journey thanks to you. I'm genuinely grateful for all you do and as weird as it may sound, I feel like we are old friend.

I have crocheted since I was 3 and I started knitting last Christmas and now I love the Ysalda Teague hat and that was my first bought pattern with adjustments making it easy to make with the decreases for the 2 crowns. It can be made double layered and reversible.

Hi, Corinna! So sorry to hear the news. My heart is with you. Back in 2014 and 2017 I had a series of ECT treatments for my depression, and it absolutely made swiss cheese of my memory. I'm thinking that James may be experiencing the same sort of side effect, as the electrical impulses in his brain are basically overloading. I'm not a doctor and have no vast knowledge of seizure disorders, but it would make sense because ECT is very much using electricity to induce a seizure response. I'm glad that you found something that is bringing you joy and happiness. Good for you for finding a Threadhead hobby. You seem pretty skilled at it, too! YAY you! Love you lots, too. Here's hoping the weather breaks a bit to give you some relief. Hugs, always, to you and yours.

It's nice to see you again! I'm mainly a crocheter, but lately I've been wanting to pick up the needles again and knit something. Now I have twice the mess with a little of both here and there. I'm not accomplishing anything and it's taking twice as long!

My sister was misdiagnosed with Epilepsy and medicated for it. Turns out she had Asthma and simply needed a puffer.
I learned CPR at a young age to help assist my sister appropriately and efficiently with her breathing attacks would happen. I was around 8 or 9 years old.
I pray that your son's health improves. It is a matter of getting the right diagnosis with the right medication.
The tegratol my sister took damaged her hearing and added "S" sounds on the end of her words.
This medication caused my sister a lot of issues, confusion, slowness, forgetting who she was.
Unfortunately, they do have to go through various medications to find what works best.

Then many years later when I worked at the hospital here, on a really slow holiday, I somehow or another in conversation with a volunteer, got talking about knitting. I said I had always wanted to learn how & she said "I'll teach you -it's easy!" And she came to my apartment and taught me 😊.

Also, since you made the first knitting video and mentioned using circular needles since they're shorter something clicked in my brain and I am now learning to knit too!
