has hab ever mentioned what his 'real' job is? im so curious how people are so highly functional, meanwhile i barely have the brain capacity to work 1 job part time
@@StretchyPlays I'm thinking if he continues to grow in ab 1-2 years he may drop his main job, but honestly he seems to be balancing his life and staying happy.
Habie, I doubt you'll see this, but I just want you to know that I think that everyone of us smooth brains that comes here to watch your content truly, truly enjoys it. I hope you have a good day man.
hey habbie, for landing on the carrier, land at 150 knots(speed) and be pitched at like 20-30. this way your aircraft is pointed upwards so the hook is the first thing to hit, but also your falling slowly. ps: land higher so you don't hit the deck as many times
@@henrim1860 on normal carriers you want to get the 3rd wire, aiming for the first wire risks hitting the deck. if you have 3 wires then aim for 2 and for 4 wires aim for 3 so you have a wire in front of you and behind you for security remember its always better to bolter then to crash
I enjoy your content not because you are 'bad', but it's relatable. I'm okay at learning the basics of a game and terrible at wanting to or having the capability to master it. And whatever happens with real work, I'll still very much enjoy an upload whenever it appears
I was a CTT in the Navy, and my first orders were to the staff of an Admiral in command of a Carrier Strike Group. Shipborne CTTs are responsible for electronic warfare, the strike group’s CTTs are responsible for managing the electronic warfare of the entire fleet of ships, aircraft, attached personnel, etc. My first division officer was an EA-6B pilot, my second an EA-18 Growler pilot (both on shore rotation). The EA-18 is an FA-18 that’s configured for electronic warfare rather than kinetic attacks-so my div-o was a jet pilot, which was apparent by how he drove his IS-350 at the time (this was 10+ years ago, OPSEC shmOPSEC). Our esteemed admirals staff also had the pleasure of sleeping in the upper levels of the Enterprise on her last deployment, which was pitched as a good thing initially… Can you imagine how loud jets landing and taking off on your roof is, not to mention the catapults and arresters and everything required to power them? Yeah it was loud. Point of all that is that I was always SO jealous of my division officer, who got to fly a jet for a living without having to drop likely unjustifiable bombs on people’s heads-you could argue that he basically covered people’s eyes so that they wouldn’t see the bombs coming, but at the end of the day, the US government is the only truly guilty one. Anyway, I’ve gone on quite a tangent when all I wanted to say was that I’m absolutely going to play this game and live out my fantasy of keeping all the people in the upper-level berthings awake.
Hahaha great video. Consider that every aircraft no matter how heavy should be below 200kts for any landing. If you have no loadout and are low on fuel it’s closer to 160! Slow and smooth!
for the aircraft carrier landings im 90% sure the hooks are in those little strips that are angled a little different than the actual runway paint. the second attempt was still like an inch off though
as someone who is in the navy and works on F-18 super hornets and has been on deployment and seen carrier landings, watching habie do all this stuff is hysterical for me
Hey, I'm a fairly new subscriber, maybe 6 months or so, but I just wanted to say you're quickly becoming one of my favorites and you inspired me to get a VR headset. Thanks for all the videos man.
I'm an idiot and decided Microsoft Flight Simulator was the way to go. Which caused me to get a 4090 just for MFS2020 since my 3070 wasn't cutting it in VR. VTOL is far less demanding and pretty much has the gold standard for cockpit VR controls.

"EACH OF THOSE CARRIER LANDINGS WERE TEXTBOOK" ...... my brother ... my smoothbrained friend. You attempted a carrier landing at SIX HUNDRED MILES PER HOUR. You need to be on a much steeper glideslope, with a much higher angle of attack. Ok you see that little cheez-ball on the left side of the hud with the red and green carets? When the cheez-ball is lit up, you're flying the correct AOA. There's another cheezball on the ship, on the left side of the runway. When that's between the green lights, it means you're on target. You need to be going slower, which will give you more time to adjust. On final approach, look at the meatball, lineup (keep the ship in front of you), Angle of attack. Meatball. Lineup. need to come down on a 15 degree glide slope at a good landing speed and slam it into the deck so it doesn't bounce over the wire, carrier aircraft are designed with tylenol extra strength gear for that purpose.
i'm just living for the day when i'll finally see a proper flight helmet with the word "HABIE" emblazoned across it. the visor/HUD would be nice place for it, i think.
I got my friend in the backseat of the f 14 and he was amazed as to how good I was so he asked my to do a carrier landing and I did it on my second ever attempt

3:00 none of those carrier landings were textbook, you're supposed to land on the wires not before, also, imo, a lil too fast, youre kinda supposed to almost stall before landing
If you want to do those carrier landings you have to have a higher approach. You can’t be approaching from the same altitude as the deck as you have to rely on the downforce of the aircraft to make sure you can hit the wire. If I remember correctly there are things off to the left of the carrier deck that will tell you if your on the proper glide slope and what not. It’s been a minute sense I’ve played but that should be the way to do it
Habie, I don't know why, but I'm filled with joy that you enjoyed Vtol as much as I do. Will you keep on playing? Or was it just this week? Thanks for posting these videos. They're always great. Have a good week!
habie... small tip, there are weapons in which you can use with Arad just get your arad switch to the weapon and when the plane says "shoot" you shoot the weapon

Some carrier landing tips: 1) Go waaaaay slower, 180 knots max. 2) Land ON the wires instead of landing in front of them and trying to drive over them
Don't feel too rough about those landings Habie. I've watched real life pilots who trained for years miss that cable more times than I can count.
One of them missed so many times he got sent to go land in San Diego.
Great thing about this IRL is that if you miss often enough, you gotta do some AAR, which isn't exactly easier... XD
